  1. No clue on incentives but hold back is like 2% of the Base MSRP.
  2. Correct, I have the 34R or 800R....Works perfect. Gotta love Optima..........................It starts like on the "X" now! :D
  3. Nothing wrong with that! I have a Kubota BX22 (same as BX23) and mowes my lawn in 12 minutes......Plus the backhoe works great for the plants the wifes wants.. B) I at least tell her that.... Cut my mowing from 55 minutes to 12 minutes.... :) Big is always good.....and the BX22 will be getting a red top along with my GSXR1100.
  4. I have a red top in my 1998 ES. Works great. Look at the stats on the battery. Got in for $125 to my door.
  5. there are 2 pieces to the 1 filter. The upper and lower filter/piece. You slide the upper filter in and slide up. Then, holding the upper filter up, you slide the lower (larger) filter right in. That is how I do it on my 98.;
  6. I agree, about 3.5+ years ago I asked the samething at Herb Chambers and the sales guy (nice person) looked at me WEIRD.... They do not have any. Based on the Lexus paint, you do not need any.
  7. I know in my state of Taxxachusetts, my local Lexus and Toyota are priced the same.
  8. I do not think your TB or Iacv will have this problem since it was only on certain years. Maybe I am wrong. If is simple to check anyways. Just open the TB and have a look. If that is dirty, then clean that and the Iacv. It will take about 1 hour (and that is with a few cold ones). Total cost is about $3 for the TB cleaner and XXX for the cold ones. I also think it has many factors and gas is just one of them. I ended up check my wifes, and my parents cars (all different makers) this weekend. So far my was the worst big time.
  9. If this keeps up I will have to switch to midgrade or regular myself. Yes I drive a Lexus, but come on, Im not made of money. I just hope my car doesnt pitch a fit. It's been pretty spoiled. ← I hear ya. My bike cost over $10 for 3 gallons! I used to fill it for $5. What is nuts is that crude oil was about $25 a barrel back in 2003...Now two years later it it is almost 3X that.
  10. Neither did my 98 only with 88K miles. Runs fine and mpg were good (23 to 25 in city and to work). I cleaned the throttle body and iacv. Here was the outcome.. http://home.comcast.net/~94gsxr1100/lexus/tb_clean.jpg There is more to it then jsut using 93 or 94 gas here.
  11. Integral to emission sys.
  12. I will say this, if you think Lexus is bad and has lots of problem, never buy a VW. Ford. Dodge, or a GM. You will think Lexus is "god" then. .....Based on JDP, Lexus is #1 for years ( I think 11)
  13. I would try and clean it myself and see what happens. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=22931&hl= http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=22963&hl=
  14. Why not buy OEM lexus (aka Toyota parts) online? They are really cheap and some places have free shipping. Due a search on here and there are a few places many shop. Not trying to be a pain but all the info is on this forum; just need to take a few minutes and search. PS. Welcome to LOC.:)
  15. It will take a few drains to clean it up. Also how long are your drains and with what fluid? I use Amsoil and go 30 to 40K miles on my cars and it smells sweet and looks new when draining out. I am not promoting Amsoil here but I would look into a better fliud and or a shorter drains. Or maybe something is up with the tranny. I would start with fluid first.
  16. yes only 4 is needed. The rest is in lines, Torque Converter (TC) . Unless someone knows how to drain th TC (not via disconnecting lines, or flush), you only need 4qts. My last truck had a drain plug on the TC, nice set up but it took 32 qts.
  17. indiasfinest- Yes, The problem is there are only two years the Suzuki was the fastest and could go over there 189 limit. Bone stock, no bike can go over 200 mph.
  18. As I stated above it is 12,500 miles or 6-months; whichever is first. It seems people never post the OR 6-MONTHS; whichever is first. From amsoil's website, "In gasoline-fueled engines using any AMSOIL motor oil except AMSOIL XL-7500 Synthetic Motor Oil, change the filter at 12,500-mile or six-month intervals". For the duration I think you are 180 degrees off. For normal street cars it is "up to" 35K or 1-year. But then again 99.999% of people will NOT be able to go this long on the oil, you can't. That is a fact here. You will be lucky to get 20 to 25K out of it. Race application have NO guarantee since you need to tests all the time. From Amsoil's site, "In high performance and racing engines: drain oil according to the findings of used oil analysis." Unless you have a need to keep testing old oil or a large sump, 75% of the time it is cheaper to just buy new oil. Not starting a war, but this is what gives Amsoil a bad name since people can't note post correct data.
  19. You bet me. Only 172 mph on my gsxr1100. What year busa did your friend have?
  20. My 98 does the same thing. Junk filter design. Give it a few days to drip down or steam clean from the filter down. If those are fine, check what Toysrme stated.
  21. I agree. It could be sludge or several other things. Unless wlu did an oil test or pulled the valve cover, checked the seals, etc....there is no way to tell.
  22. Correct on the oil. The filter is 6 months or 12,500 miles. I would not try that with dino since you will have a sucky oil tests if you did it. :D
  23. The 8% on the CCS is so small it is not even funny here. The temps for these ratings are different but look at the pumping temp and pour here. CCS is cold crank simulator it show the oil flows during a certain time interval and certain temp rise (I think 5 degrees C). The CCS is intergral to SAE J300 I think. I can look up these spec in the am if need be., I think, again, think the viscosity maximums are about 1.6 to 1.8 times the old values. Yes, these values are for un-used oils here. Yes, 2 engines could have different values but they should not be a huge delta here since these cars have good quality control (aka SPC). If they are way different it is not engine related here. Both oils are good but for the short drains you are doing I do not think you are going to see anything jumping out on an oil tests to say, “wow the series 2000” is great. I personally think they (series 2000 and 3000) are overpriced for what you get. But that is me. Oh, there short drains for Amsoil diesel oils are going to be 25K or 1-year starting in 2006 because or there new filters. Now that is impressive for a wiesel. There new bike oil is also gone the extra mile here. Again, I like there oils, but do not trust there little fancy books nor half on what dealers say since most times they are incorrect.
  24. Go to all data and look it up..
  25. YES, It has figures, wording, fluid caps, about 1000 times better then the manual. Again, for the $25, it is worth it I feel. I do not have it on my Lexus yet since this Forum is my "all data"! :) Plus my scanner helps. If I need it, I can add mu car for only $14.
