  1. Oh wow! 408k miles!! I wanna see some pictures to see how it has help up for that many miles!!
  2. Forgot to update but the dealer replaced both front pads for free. They said they could not find anything wrong but they could hear the noise and said it shouldn't do that. No more squeal.
  3. Yeah the dealer could not find anything wrong but it squealed so loudly that they replaced both front pads for free. And the noise is gone.
  4. And if you want something cheaper......and even better......I just got me some Hankooks. They are quieter and smoother than the Michelins. 65k mile warranty too. Hankook Ventus AS RH07 275/60R-18 113H SBL
  5. http://ttcperformanceproducts.com/ttcpe1twtuki.html Anyone want one of these? If I had 10 grand to blow it would be an awesome upgrade.
  6. The HID and xenon headlights are the same thing. the "bi" as in, bi-xenon means that the HID headlights are low beam as well as high beam.
  7. The Benz's are the ones that as the packages increase, they include all the options from the previous plus some.
  8. Forgive me if I am wrong but I thought the service campaign for the brakes on the IS was on the 06-07 models only. If I remember correctly it was for heavy brake dust. Well my 09 IS350 has always had very bad brake dust but I acknowledged it to be the high performance brake system that the car theoretically has. This does not really bother me that much. But now at 19k miles there is a loud squeal/shriek noise from the front pads while at very slow speeds immediately before the car comes to a stop. As in pulling into a parking space or backing out of one……if that gives you an idea of the speed. Happens when brakes are cold or hot. So at my 20k miles service today I asked them to check to see if the pads needed to be replaced. My service representative stated he has never seen front pads worn all the way down at this mileage but they will check anyway. So afterwards he states that the brake linings on all 4 corners are at 8mm. Which he stated is supposed to be very good. And then he told me that they would replace them with new pads free of charge because of a service campaign for the pads on the IS. But also stated they would cause a lot of brake dust. I told him I experience this anyway so it would not be a problem. Just the loud squeal scares people if I pull up behind someone while they are pumping gas. So I guess I am really rambling on and wondering if anyone else with a 2009 model has been given free pads for a similar situation? I’m not going to complain as the car is almost 2 years old and I will be getting free front pads. But I was just really under the impression that the problem was fixed before the 2009 model year.
  9. The 2011 changes everyone has been talking about in more detail with pictures. http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2010/07/chchchanges-2011-lexus-is-250-is-250-isf.html
  10. Forgive me if I sound like a !Removed! but I have no idea what you are asking.
  11. My 09 IS350 is getting close to 20k miles and the brakes are still perfect. The brake system for the 350 is oversized for the bigger engine and should not warp as bad as you say, especially in fewer than 3k miles. The only thing I can think of that would make this happen is if a caliper is bad and sticking. So it is not releasing all the way making the rotor overheat and warp.
  12. I use http://lexuspartsonline.com The parking light housing is like, $50.
  13. I like that. Was that mounting kit special made or were you able to find that one? Here is mine.
  14. It's normal behavior. There is nothing wrong with the truck. The cruise system tries to keep the set speed and when it encounters a decrease in speed due to an incline it cannot determine how steep the incline is. So it downshifts pretty hard to keep the set speed when sometimes just a little bit more gas in overdrive will work. But without eyes the computer cannot decide this. When you drive without cruise you can determine how much pedal you need to keep in a certain speed range.
  15. The suspension is actually hydraulic and not air. Which is why it lasts longer. Air suspensions such as ones on Tahoes, Land Rovers often get holes in the air shocks in about 5 years or less. My 1998 LX470 is 12 years old with 113k miles and has never had the hydraulic suspension worked on and it works perfectly still. But when it does need parts replaced it IS more expensive than air suspension parts...but I do not personally know because I have never had work done on it yet!!
  16. Well if you have something in the seat the size of a small child it will think someone is there. Whatever it is in your front seat, move em to the back.
  17. I think you need to get your priorities straight.Which would you like? (slow death after head injury and your body being shot though the windshied onto the highway) or take the one I like, (wear the damn thing and the most you might get would be a few burn marks on your skin from the airbag.) You need to wear that seatbelt. Even if there was a way to disable it. Lexus is not stupid enough to do it and then you come back and sue because your car never told you to put it on. AM I RIGHT OR WHAT?
  18. In the meantime while you guys were too worried and having fits about a speedometer I fixed a real problem with my truck. I got up underneath the truck and found the sway bar with all the links and rubber parts and such. They looked pretty dry and cruddy from road grime. Sooooo because I have seemed to pinpoint where the creak is coming from I took a can of WD40 and went to town. Probably used half a can. And phenomenally the creak is gone!! No matter how hard I jump on the running board or how big of bumps in the road I hit.....there is silence. I guess I could have gotten all those parts replaced but hey as long as the WD40 can handle the job I'm going the cheapest way out and not go to the stealership first. Jt should be a pretty easy fix anyway. As soon as the WD40 doesn't work anymore it's off to the mechanic!!! And what we have below here is the sway bar braket, bushings and links.......
  19. I talked to a Lexus Mechanic and he mentioned something about it sounding like the sway bar bracket, bushing or link. Is that the same as a stabilizer bar? I am going to go to a regular mechanic later this week and hopefully it will not require a trip to the stealership.
  20. My 98 LX470 is starting to make a strange noise from the front suspension from the drivers' side. It's a very annoying creaking sound. It happens when you get into the truck and I can make it happen on command by rocking the truck in an up and down or side to side motion. I've tried to get under it while someone rocks it but cannot pinpoint its exact location. I am assuming it is some gasket or bushing or any type of other rubber part that has gone bad. Before I bring it in I just wanted to see if anyone else has had to replace a similar part for a similar noise or has an idea of what it might be. Here this might help...I took a video of the sound while I am jumping on the running board.....sounds more like rubber on metal noise.
  21. It is a personal setting. You can change what RPM the car is at when it turns red. It's so you don't really have to take your eyes off the road when you want to know when to shift with the paddles. Same thing for the speed. It's the control with the left and right arrow with a button in the middle. Behind the light switch.

  23. I personally cannot understand why people like aftermarket wheels. I think they all look ghetto. Factory all the way for me!
  24. Hello NicLX470, Just curious, do you notice more windnoise before the replacement or about the same? Thanks! No new noises at all. They bring extra gaskets and stuff in the even that the others are not reuseable.
  25. Safelite was great for me. Came to the house, replaced it in my driveway. Cheap and perfect.
