  1. It can be the latch or the cable. I would use PB blaster and let it sit as well as spraying as much up the cable as possible. That should keep it from reoccuring.
  2. You have dirt making the pin stick inside the key tumbler ,apply some liquid lube ,also clean your key first . Apply the lube sparingly
  3. Use a razor blade and a soapy solution and run the blade over the glass. It will remove the high spots causing some glare spots. Then use a good water repellent which will also fill in most of the glass. It will still show some pitting but it will look much less.
  4. As far as i know you never adjust a tps unless you are replacing it as the idle is completely ECC controlled. If it is not where it should be then you have a problem, that needs to be fixed . In olden days of carbs before rampant use of fuel injection you would adjust the idle higher as a band aid to cover the problem. If the car runs fine then do not worry about adjusting the idle the computer can handle it easily enough.
  5. Are you moving or parked? it could be from the power steering pump or just normal rust on the rotors being rubbed off by the pads.
  6. Get the pipe welded either way then you can start finding other problems if any.
  7. You do not need a perfect match just a very close tolerance which is why most are never a exact match or they would stick together to easily. You found the perfect size you need.
  8. no worries. I have never heard of any HID bulb using mercury as it would stay in a liquid form not a vapour. I have 4 sets of HID's on my 3 cars. 3 of them are retro kits one oem. I have 4300k , 6000k and a 8000k kit. Of all of them i like the look of the 8000k kit but the light output is much lower than the 6000k which to me provides max output and temp colour.
  9. When adding yourself put a close to yours zip code as no one needs to know your exact location. Just add your username on the club. Your vehicle model and year as well. No need to add pics there are enough on the site.
  10. The more water you keep in the sponge the less abraxive it is. So when i used it on the wood as long as i don't press on it ,it cleans perfectly without scratching as well as removing the old waxes and what not.
  11. LOL by having slightly more clearance than needed any dirt that might/will find its way into the crevice will allow the hub rings and rims to not become seized when removing them. I have no clue what you mean by blink blink means. Actually Stevie had a vibration problem that was easily solve by adding the hubrings to his aftermarket rims as well.
  12. Try plugging the engine side and then the intake side to see which one is suffering .
  13. Hmmm. The fuel filter is located in the ngine bay as far as i know under the brake booster, but i have never looked on mine to confirm. To remove a screen that goes in the gas tank should be free as it wouldn't require any parts and definatly not an hour unless this is something i have never seen. Most gas stations have filthy holding tanks, which is why i only by sunoco gas from station less than a year old. If i can't pay at the pump the station is too old for me to put any rust dirt and water in my tank they can keep it before i pay for it.
  14. I think a CPO car is great for a person who is short on time, has limited auto knowledge does not have a good technician to walk around car shopping with them . It also gives you a no nonsense stand with repairs as well as prior problems such as thefts, floods and structural damage. They also choose only the dealer maintained cars to be CPO. So again unless you know what you are looking at and most do not know how to spot structural never mind mechanical it is worth $5000 premium.
  15. Luv2 lex , i am sorry but you don;t know what you are talking about when it comes to HID's. Fog and rain are the same thing ,the difference is fog is a fine mist causing a denser visual while rain is moisture in larger droplets which gravity pulls to the ground causing the ground to be reflective . If your friend has 12000k colour temp bulbs they will have to be painted blue. If they are not then they are a lower range of 4000-8000k. The colour temp is not an actual heat calculation but it is just a way to rate the actual colour of the bulb. You do not even need HID's to get the colour you want. HID's are for getting a higher lumen's or candle power output from a bulb. It is used to rate or scale the actual amount of light output at a set distance. A natural halogen filament bulb will and cannot reach above 3500k without a coating to alter the light produced . By adding a coating you reduce the actual light output but attain the colour temp you want. Now why would your friend not have a 12000k bulb that has no coating ? Well because if it had no coating then the bulb would be so dim you would hardly even see any light from it. Remember a HID bulb is like a spark plug so the more power you get to skip over the gap the brighter the output in lumen's is . If you lower the power across the gap you get a more blue light with a lower lumen output.
  16. That means the inner will have slight play as well as the outer. So that will work perfectly for dirt and so on .
  17. I was just about to post the intake might be cracked form worn engine mounts other than that it could have been a wiring problem,.
  18. What is a metallic barb and how can this influence voltage irregularities?
  19. I am a stickler that unless it is ridiculously cheaper or better i am going to buy the originator. My main reasoning is that they made the new product and should be rewarded for making a $0.12 cent sponge that does wonders. They may make a huge profit but they designed it. I hate any company that rides on another's coat tails. by being the 5th 6th and so on to the market with a new product. So far i have seen 5 versions of the eraser but will not buy any of them. I cleaned my LS when i bought it really well ( i thought) then after i was done it was a night and day difference of dirt i removed from a black interior.
  20. Interesting got names and prices?
  21. Someone cleaned or replaced the fuel filter? If they cleaned it get it in writing and then sue the crap out of them for fraud. The fuel filter is not servicable. Need to describe the noise more, where is is comeing from any specific conditions that make the noise change?
  22. Well i keep hearing other members talk about it and got interested .So i was at the grocery store and saw it cheaper than at an auto parts store. $3 for 2 home ones and $6 for 4 car wheel and tire ones ( have no blue backing). So i bought both to try them. While i was getting my alarm installed and half the interior was out i decided to clean ever nook and cranny on my LS400. Well i used a pail with cold water and its results were spectacular to say the least. If you want the matte finish the car came with then this is the product of a lifetime. It is like wet sanding your interior if you know what that can do to a paint finish well this is the same for leather vinyl and plastic. I had dirt build up even spray nine was leaving behind. My steering wheel is now like new with a smooth but Matt finish.Plastic trim by the doors came clean again and showed the plastic grain. I used 3 of them to clean the interior , i would have used 2 but the second pail of water was warm and caused the eraser to shred eailsy. So i would only recommend using cold water only. I cleaned my whole interior plastics ,wood, vinyl and leather . All came back to a new finish like when the car rolled off the showroom floor. It shows the wear in spots but got all the dirt off. So far i used 3 different leather treatments to see the differences but left the dash with nothing as i am going to get some lexol for plastics when i can find it. I replaced the pail water twice as it got filthy to say the least . It took a few hours but i was going very slow and cleaning every possible surface as well. The steering wheel is probably one of the best differences as there was so much dirt on it from it being the most contacted with dirt surface next to the carpets. It is not a soapy filled sponge just a soft but durable sponge which slowly breaks down on surfaces to remove dirt . After wiping with the sponge i follow up with a microfiber towel and the results show. Try it and you will love it.
  23. It is not your mounts. You have a slight electrical problem that needs to be diagnoised. Go to one of the parts store that do free alternator and battery testing. You could have a loose belt ( squeels) , bad battery ( hard to start) , bad ground wires and battery terminals (most likely and cheapest to replace , try tightening them first) or the alternator is going.
