  1. OK It now all seems to be working again. Eric.
  2. I have a 1989 imported Celsior with a dash switch I cant identify. When I switch on, it beeps for a few seconds and then stops but I have no idea what the function is. Can anyone help?
  3. Sorry for this dumb question, but I cant remember how to add a jpg attachment to a topic? Can someone remind me. I cant seem to find this advice anywhere, and I cant find any simple button relating to attachments in this new topic editior. I must be missing something very simple. I have a pic of a dash switch from my imported Celsior and I want to see if it can be indentified. Ta Eric
  4. My 89/90 Japanese imported Celsior has an air conditioning unit located behind the rear seat in addition to the main unt. This rear unit is recirculating the cabin air OK into the rear of the car but will not blow cold air even though the main unit and compressor is working fine. It appears to have a solinoid valve which wont open to accept the flow of cold air from the main unit. There is power to this unit but I dont really know what it is supposed to do. I have the two volume OEM workshop manuals for a 1993 US model but it makes no mention of this rear unit, so I am assuming it was not released on US vehicles. I also dont believe ti was released on the early Australian LS400. Can anyone provide me with information on how this rear unit is meant to function or have ideas on what might be the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I have a RHD 1989/90 LS400 (Celsior) which has a sagged and worn leather drivers seat. Since worn drivers seats are not uncommon, finding an essentially "unmarked" replacement at a reasonable cost in Australia is not that easy. I am travelling to the US early next year and one option would be to source a LHD passenger seat for a replacement. I imagine that this would be essentially identical to the RHD driver's seat. Can anyone confirm or otherwise whether this would be the case? My car colour is black onyx (dark green) with a light tan interior. I will be in San Antonio in March. Also can anyone also advise who I might contact in this city to source a suitable seat? I could then fly it back with me.
  6. Thanks. $135.81 from Discounted Toyota Parts.
  7. I have a leak from the diaphram of the EPR air conditioning system valve and need to source a replacement unit. Can anyone suggest an on-line store which could supply one. I have been searching unsuccessfully so far.
  8. Thanks for all the advice!!!! - It was this button.
  9. Thanks for the fast reply. I will give this a try. Much appreciated.
  10. I have a 1990 LS400 Celsior. The automatic steering wheel positioning adjusment which normall operates when you turn on the key, and retraction when you turn off the key has suddently stopped operating. However, the manual tilt and positioning adjustments are fine. Can someone advise me what this problem might be? :(
  11. Thanks for this advice. Do you know if there would be a standard "o" ring kit for this. My potential local suppliers have not been too helpful so can you suggest any web based supplier who might have this?
  12. Here is a second attempt at attaching the photo.
  13. I have a Right Hand Drive Japanese 89/90 Celsior which I recently imported into Australia. The air compressor siezed and I had it replaced and the system converted to R134a. But on regassing the system has a significant leak from the flange of what appears to be some sort of regulator on the passenger side of the vehicle just in front of the firewall. The car has a split airconditioning system not sold on local cars and this may be part of that system. I am located in country Western Australia and cant easily get the vehicle to a dealership and the telephone has not been much help. I dont know much about air conditioners and this may be obvious but it would sure help me if someone could identify the part I am dealing with here so that I can source a replacement or an o ring or whatever. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I will attempt to attach a photo showing the site of the leak.
