  1. I bought my car 4/28 of this year. I'm not rich or anything but I saved my money to buy me a good car. When I started looking at different models anything under 30,000 was like smooth1 said," nice but not enough power, nice but for a 18 year old, nice but I'll look like granpa, etc." Once I looked and studied all the cars the only one that kept popping up was the IS350. I could have bought new but they had this one with only 13,000 miles on it and I paid $30,000 total. Just what I had in my pocket. And I saved around 8 to 10 grand or more and I don't owe anybody anything. At first I felt a little quezy but that very quickly disappeared and I was sure I got the type of car I wanted. Enjoy it and congrats. By the way the insurance for the IS was cheaper than for my previous car which was a 2000 Celica GTS, I was amazed.
  2. Lexusses Lexuses Lexus's Lexususes Lexi
  3. THE GT-R BLOWS THE ISF AWAY BIG TIME !!! Sorry for the caps, this is NO comparison. Just comparing it money wise, car wise no comparison.
  4. To our wifes or girlfriends all this sounds like we have a secret society going on here. I know from the look I get from my wife, daughter, neighbors, etc... when I'm doing work on my car.
  5. The new Nissan GT-R is pretty wild too. Just a little to much $$$$, on par with the IS-F. But it supposed to be fast and drive like a true racing machine.
  6. Damn wrote it backwards < PC. Edited. Thanks By the way amazing job you did on that Camaro.
  7. detaildoc I must say I was totaly wrong the way I was using my PC. I was use to using a circular buffer where you had to be extremely careful about not burning or hacking off the corner paint off a car( It was engraved in my mind) that was the only thing available at that time. I was using it in a quick manner, old school, been a while since I've done this, about 15 years and damn things have changed. That is why my dumb questions. I was living in the dark ages. I'm learning more now than ever, thanks to you and all the great people here on LOC. Old dogs CAN learn new tricks. I blame you rjt65 for getting me hooked into this again. I'm going to be the best looking IS350 in Miami!
  8. Just did it this morning, 21.8 mpg, dash said 20.4. This is around 50/50 city/highway. Not to bad for a 300+hp car.
  9. My brother's old girl friend had a '80ish Cadillac, she would open the oil filler cap and look in,if it seemed low on oil she would fill it up. To the TOP of the oil fill !!!! That's how she knew it was full. Then she would complain that the car had a bunch of oil leaks. My brother set her straight about oil level. :chairshot: INCREDIBLE but true.
  10. Premium in all the cars I've owned. My wife has a '98 Tacoma that regular is recomended but she allways put premium, now if she puts regular the gas milage goes down,it runs on and on when shut down and it knocks like crazy. Go figure, it got use to the good stuff.
  11. rjt65 sorry to hear that but let me tell you, I work for and at a asphalt paving company for the past 32 years. It's dusty when it's dry and muddy when it's wet, there's tar everywhere, machinery may drop oil, grease and you don't see it until you run over the stuff and it sticks to the car. I've seen people here use car a cover but the grit and dust get under the cover and with the wind you get a nice sanding action. Best thing is to keep up with the washing and waxing. To remove any tar some kerosene on a soft towel should do the trick and it does not harm the paint. Just my two cents. And I hope it goes by quickly(never does).
