  1. I had a bottle of meguirs allready but I'm going with what you suggested. SFX 2 and 3 are on the way to me. Your post explained what I was asking to. Thanks Doc
  2. What do you guys think about Meguiars #2 fine cut for a lot of fine scatches. Do you think it's a little to harsh for lexus's soft paint? The previous owner must have dragged stuff back and forth on top of the trunk lid or maybe had cats, anyway I'm having a hard time trying to get rid of them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  3. Nice thats the color I wanted but got TS. Great looking car. Enjoy that beauty. Congrats. Might want to block your tag in the picture.
  4. Thanks rjt65, the ink is the chemical that cleans the glass and yea your hands do get a little black from the ink. For my detailing job I did this one all by hand, my arms felt like they where about to fall off. I just bought a PC polisher , I'm not going through that again! I've always had small cars and it wasn't that bad but this one is a little more than usual plus I'm not getting any younger. This is what I do, again I say, I do. Wash with a orange base car wash to get all oils and road grime off the car. Clay bar it with Mothers using the car wash soapy water. Polish with Meguiars. Each panel over and over until I'm satisfied. Then two coats of Meguiars NXT. Two coats just to make sure I get the all the surfaces and of course the rims. Clean windows with newspaper. Polish the plastic lenses with Novus polish and Novus clean and shine. Of course the usual terry towels, MF towels and MF sponge. I'm not a professional detailer (or have OCD) by any means but this has always worked well for me.
  5. I'll start by saying that there is great helpful info here. Thanks. Now to put my two cent in. I like to use newspaper to clean my windows. Grab some black and white, not color, newspaper. Soak one with water and squeeze out most of the excess water. The other, ball it up and roll it between your hands until it's soft. Next go to town wiping and drying. I don't get steaks, leaves glass with no residue and crystal clear. Well this is my opinion, but it works and really cheap. Thanks again to detaildoc.
  6. Gas here can go from $3.99(Sonoco) and up. You got it at the most expensive area, tourist trap area. The more west(inland) you go the cheaper.
  7. Thanks Willie. The more I drive her the better it gets. Hmmmmm, sounds familiar. ;)
  8. Clay1, yea when I went to the dealer they had all the 250's you would want, but only 2 350. Now that I have one I notice more the amount of 250's driving around but rarely see a 350. Thanks all.
  9. Thanks , yea to excited to think about that. Will do.
  10. I just bought my IS with 13000 miles on 4/27. On Saturday(5/3) I was changing the oil when I noticed a small oil leak coming from the timing chain cover. Monday I took it to the dealer to fix the oil leak. :cries: On the 13th finally got it back and it seems to be fine, only time will tell. Have not had a chance to fully enjoy this baby yet but I can tell It's going to be a long and wonderful relationship. What a joy to drive, the handling, the power and the comfort. Did a full detail job on her, took me 4 hours,WHEW! Finally got the chance to take some pics of it and post them here.
