  1. Smooth1 I think I read somewhere here in the forums that ISxxx come with a speacial coating on the winshield? So I guess the polishing would not be recomended . Just want to make sure I don't do something to hurt that coating if thats the the case.
  2. I'd leave it to someone that knows about A/C and has all the speacial tools. It's not that easy. Plus it could be dangerous, the refridgerant under preasure can burn or cause eye damage.
  3. Seafoam does work, used it on many of the company vehicles with great results. Good one jcrome.
  4. Sounds to me either expansion valve or the orifice tube is stuck or blocked. Thats the only way to get a vacuum on the low side and the high so, eerrrr, high. Hope this helps.

  6. Congrats Nice looking car.
  7. One more thing r-12 systems use mineral oil and r-134 uses a ester oil or a synthetic Pag oil. R-134 does not like mineral oils it turns the oil into a goo. Thereby distroying the compressor. You need to take the whole system apart and flush everything, including the compressor, with a a/c flushing solvent that takes the mineral oil out and evaporates completely leaving no residue. Then replace the oil with the correct amount to each component of the system, evaporator.condenser, compressor and receiver dryer. All this is done with a speacial bottle that can be connected to compressed air to be able to blow the flush through the components and also used to charge it with oil. Also need to change the receiver/dryer since you can't flush that. Then you can vacuum the system and charge it. In other words let a A/C tech do the job.

  9. I've noticed that after nice hot day, inside the car is 140F I have a thermometer in my vent, I turn on the A/C and after about 15 min. I get the loud snap, crackle, pop from the center console. I thought it was a normal thing since all the plastic is contracting from the cold air. It does'nt do it all the time but it scares the hell out of me every time it does, surprises me. I'm going to try the felt thing on the console to see if it goes away. Thanks RSMDR.
  10. Mother in law. Congrats jcrome04.
