  1. that's insane. I was thinking about replacing my entire door seal to try to keep the wind noise down. Have you heard of the company "SoffSeal"? They make a BUNCH of rubber weatherstripping for all kinds of makes and models. http://www.soffseal.com/ I didn't see it with a quick look at their website, but it wouldn't hurt to call!!
  2. While I have NOT used this particular product yet, I can tell you that "Eastwood" at www.eastwoodcompany.com has a great reputation, and I've used a lot of their other paints and products. They have some caliper paint as well that I've been wanting to buy. They truly sell quality stuff, check'em out!
  3. This is just a guess, but are our moonroofs affected by friction/resistance? ie. if you stuck your arm out of the roof, and closed the moonroof, would it work like a garage door....touching your arm and then reversing? If it did work like that, you could try some lubrication. (Graphite? Silicone? White grease?) It's worth trying even if it doesn't explain why you had different results when trying the door key.
  4. I'm really thinking about getting the Eibach springs for my 99GS400. I'm wondering how badly I might need to get new, appropriate shocks? Do I even need different shocks? I tried a search but couldn't find the answer. Any new thoughts on the Eibach vs the L-Tuned springs? (L-Sportline is same as the Eibach, right?)
  5. simply beautiful or, that ride is P I M P. :) gotta get me those lights!
  6. Got it! From Nothing, to Novus, to Plexus, on the Lexus. PS. I work at LexisNexis. ;)
  7. ......trying to fix it! They WERE there in my post, I swear! :)
  8. . . All I can say is WOW!! The NOVUS product is absolutely AWESOME. I had VERY LITTLE expectation that anything I tried would actually remove the yellowing on my headlight lens' but NOVUS DID! I'll try to post some pictures here for everyone to see. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it and urge anyone with yellowing headlight lens to buy some! I took the best pics I could with what I have available to me..... Now, these pics are only with my using about 10 minutes of HAND polishing, and using their #2 product. I now plan to go back with a buffer wheel and the #3 product first, then work up to the #2, and finally the #1 finishing detail!! The headlights ought to look like new when completed!! :D :D [url}http://www.ares-server.com/Ares/Ares.asp?MerchantID=RET01229&Action=Catalog&Type=Product&ID=82456
  9. The only reason an Iridium plug would 'foul out' on someone is if they have the wrong heat range. Sorry, it's just that simple. I've done back to back testing of Iridium vs Platinum and found absolutely no power gain at all. I think you should go with whichever is cheapest. They're both damn good plugs.
  10. A clunk when going to drive certainly could be the differential, but the U-joint is the most common cause there.......I wonder if they replaced that too? Turbo GS300 brought up a very good point, and you will find a BUNCH of different threads on this board about this same "GS400 vibration" problem. It really is common. By the way, mine does it too and if you are on a flat road, and it's quiet, you can barely feel it at even 40mph. (and 50, 55, etc) up to around 80mph where it clears out a bit.
  11. THANK YOU, I will go look for the NOVUS and MeGuires tomorrow!!
  12. so, no one has any kind of Trick, Double-Throwdown, Triple-Secret, 'got it from some guy at the local nuclear plant' kind of stuff?? I mean, which product should I use?
  13. Neo, I realize the housings are different. I'm asking whether the LENS itself can come off and be swapped.....
  14. can't remember my password, so had to re-create a login! :) My 99 GS400 with HID has some pretty yellow looking headlights. I want them to look clear again........ie. almost new. There are plenty of 'non-HID' headlights available at an almost reasonable price. If I remove my headlight unit from the car, will I be able to just swap the LENS with a non-HID headlamp unit? Not that I expect any, but, are there any cleaners or polishers that would work at all with a buffing wheel or dremel?
