  1. STOP YELLING. I moved your topic to Audio/Video/Electronics because that is where it belongs. Your problem is not new to the ES nor is it new to any Lexus for that matter. It is a bulb issue that has been covered many times. As a matter of fact someone has already responded to your post in that forum. Also, please try using the search function as several members have written threads about how to replace bulbs and panels. This duplicate thread is closed. steviej
  2. Mike, that would be the windshield. kimberly, It depends on how bad and how big the chip is. Call you dealership and see who they outsource their glass replacement, too. Then call them directly. Have them assess the chip. Some chips can be filled, but if the shop is not that good, then you have a sealed eyesore on your hands. In my case, I had a very small chip but it went all the way through. They replaced the entire windshield. Check with you insurance company too, alot of times this is covered for safety reasons. steviej
  3. the traction control is dependent on the pressure modulation valve body and sensors at the wheels, I don't think the power booster is any different than that of the Camry, but I may be totally out in left field on this one. steviej
  4. you can go as big as you want, but be prepared to cut or flare the fenders. However, if you go to www.tirerack.com and spend some time there. They will list the largest suggested size that you would be capable of without altering the speedometer or doing any body work. You can also view what the different wheels will look like on your car in your color. Also read the section on plus sizing to understand the tire sizes that will best fit your vehicle other than the stock size. steviej
  5. awesome, it warms my heart to see people that buy SUVs actually use the 4WD/AWD capability in sand and dirt. I grew up on the dunes of Cape Cod so I got 4wheelin in the blood. steviej
  6. that is odd that the insurance company didn't want proof of the work being done. If they don't ask, don't tell them cause they will want their $570 back. :whistles: steviej
  7. Swap the front tires for the rear tires. If the shimmy goes away, then it is the wheels/tires. If the noise and shimmy stays it is in the car and not the wheels. wheel bearing and/or hub assembly ok? How hard did the shop have to whack the old rotor to get them off or did they use the two screw technigue? You could always go for a second balance at a different shop (second opinion type stuff). Go to a place that has a Hunter Road Force balancer. steviej
  8. I have seen master cylinders fail but not power boosters. Unless you have an extended warranty that covers 140k miles, then no Lexus warrantly is going to. Have you tried new aftermarket parts (NAPA, Autozone, etc). I would assume it would be the same booster for a 98 Camry. steviej
  9. because gifts like that to the present Mother-In-Law have a way of biting you in the azz at your future divorce hearings.........................so to speak. steviej
  10. salvage vehicle? Cutouts for the fog lights are there, but you're right, no lamps. steviej
  11. you'll be the first informed. :P steviej
  12. whatever happened to just doing the speed limit +10. :whistles: OMG, I just sounded like my father. steviej
  13. I got a free application of it when I bought some over-rated wiper blades from TireRack.com. Bren, if TireRack ships to Canada, then you can get it through them. I was not overly impressed. It seems to work for a while but within a few car washes, the water run off from rain seemed just like it always did. I can say much for bugs being cleared off any better, a smear bug is still a mess at 65 mph. I have tried Rain-X many times, but it always seems that when I apply that, the wiper blades go to crap within 3 to 6 months. I have not seen that effect with Aquapel, though. steviej
  14. evidentally Lexlogic isn't aware of cyber etiquette yet. not cool. :whistles: steviej
  15. I have seen them on ES's and Camrys. Keep in mind the tow rating is only 2000 lbs (~900 kgs I think). If you do, I would strongly suggest you look into a tranny fluid cooler, too. steviej
  16. I would go back and check all the fuses. My 02 has three fuses inside alone that contribute to the radio. Since a component other than the audio is possibly involved, I would check all fuses. steviej
  17. depends on if it is sensor 1 or sensor 2. Bank 1 is the bank of cylinders closest to the firewall. Funny, this is the third time I have answered this question in two days. Must be a rash of sensors going bad. steviej
  18. take the bulb out. get a good length of thick walled surgical tubing or rubber hose from the auto parts store. Use the hose from your vacuum. You will need something to downsize the opening of the hose to the width of the tubing. I tried a rubber glove and two wire ties. make a small hole in one finger and stick the tubing through there, secure it tightly with a wire tie. Put the vacuum's hose in the wrist opening of the glove and secure that with a larger wire tie. Leave little excess of the glove unsecured. This should create enough suction to get the spider carcass out of there. have fun. :P steviej
  19. I missed that part. AF and O2 sensors are covered under the 4 year/50k mile standard warranty. Take it back to them. Problem solved. steviej
  20. OMG, how many hours a week do they work? ($23/hour and a 40 hour work week comes to just shy or $48k per year.) Is there some sort of volume incentive added in? steviej
  21. In all truthfulness........then are up in the loft of the garage. I am running my 18s right now. Come Oct 15, they will be back on. From March to June, they were awesome. Great in the rain and on dry pavement, very very quiet and super smooth. I can't speak to snow traction of any kind cause they haven't seen any yet. steviej
  22. try www.sparkplugs.com and www.oxygensensors.com Denso sensors are the original equipment. steviej
  23. I can't wait for SK to read this. :whistles: steviej
