  1. I was always taught to remember: righty tighty, lefty loosey. Suggestion #1: got to autozone and get an O2 socket and ratchet. Suggestion #2: hit the current O2 sensor around where it is inserted with some WD40 or liquid wrench. Do this a couple of times over the coarse of an afternoon AND when the manifold is cold. steviej
  2. nope. Toyota rotors are plain, no slots no holes. In 2002-3 there was a TSB because of a material mismatch though. But the replacement rotors were solid too. I painted my rotors and calipers for the same reason. steviej
  3. www.d2autosport.com and tell Derek that steviej sent you. steviej
  4. Nope, and that has been duely noted whenever I recommend the Exaltos. I have a hunch based on traction in rain that they will do pretty well. steviej
  5. eBay. www.car-parts.com (salvage yard listings) www.newlexusparts.com (new but online pricing)
  6. go to Autozone, get the code(s) read for free. Copy them down, post the codes up here so that we can tell you further where to look. There are a ton of sensors that any one of them or several in combination will set off the CEL. steviej
  7. keep in mind that if the car is to see snow, the 225s will not do as well as the 215s, but the difference may be minimal. If you don't want to wash your rims and you like the noiseless operation, then stick with Toyota OEM pads and rotors. steviej.
  8. Steve, you just said: "Nothing problem" steviej
  9. traditionally, radial tires were not supposed to be swapped side to side I think due to belt seating. Only bias-ply tires did the flip flop to the other side. I guess Lexus likes tradition. steviej
  10. gee, I guess as the driver, I could just go to sleep as there is nothing left for me to do. steviej
  11. Directional or not, I have always rotated my radial tires front to back only, so I can't give you any information on real life rotation from side to side. steviej
  12. we got free air at the fillin' station and dropped a dime in a pay phone. steviej
  13. Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S, nuff said. I didn't stear you wrong with the fog lights, I won't here either. steviej
  14. NON-INTERFERNECE, I will put it another way, any ES with a V6 before 1999 is non-interference.
  15. yes. If the engine is VVT-i then it is interference. The i actually stands for Intelligence but I remeber it as interference. The 1MZ-FE engines came out with VVT-i in 1999. Any 1MZ-FE engine pre-1999 is VVT so no "i" which translates to non- or no interference. got that? steviej
  16. why don't you contact them and find out. I don't know if they sell actual clusters or if they just refurbish yours. steviej
  17. snuggles, that thread I linked you to is over three years old. I have actually tried the following: Ion Crystals (yellow), Xtreme White (4300k), Super Plasma GT-X (5000k), and Sylvania Silverstars (4000k). The GT-X are nice but nothing came close to the HID white. Personally, I like the yellow (Ion Crystal) the best. It gives a GS/IS sort of look to the car, but they are not as yellow. Plus, they do add some help in fog and snow with the yellow. But like you said, the HID pretty much overshines any white fog bulb. When the GT-X burn out, I will go back to the yellow. steviej steviej
  18. here snugglebunnies: read this thread: 02 foglight bulb change I must ammend, I now find it easier to just remove the 10 mm bolt hold the entire foglight in. The pinch the plastic clip opposite the 10 mm bolt. The foglight flops out forward. All the backing and clips are easier seen. good luck, should take about 1/2 and hour. steviej
  19. I think your girlfriend is gonna love her new car, especially in the Northeast winters. enjoy. steviej
  20. anewman, your post would be so much more awesome if YOU POSTED A PICTURE of the 17s. They must look real nice. :chairshot: Buuut, we don't know that, do we. (I just playing with ya). Please post pics. steviej
  21. my dealership wants to see it. They said they might be able to put pressure on SpoilerDepot because they move alot their product. I will take SK's suggestion if they can't help. I have a reply on CL from a guy in NC with the same problem. steviej
  22. In Jan 03, I had a spoiler installed on my 02 ES. The spoiler was bought at the dealership and installed by them. However, the spoiler was made and painted by SpoilerDepot in Florida. The paint had bubbled in what started to be small pin prick like bubbles that have escalated into blemished and white rings. The silver paint is discoloring unevenly and actually showing some spotting. At first I thought is was sun related but it is on the underside as well. Unfortunately, SpoilerDepot's direct warranty as well as what is offered by the dealership is only 12 months. A new spoiler is $250 painted and a local bodyshop will remove, strip, seal and repaint my exhisting one for the same price. I am just curious as to if anyone else with a SpoilerDepot product has experienced this. thanks, steviej
  23. will you be assuming any costs incured if damage results from your "switch" or will you require donors to sign a waiver?
