  1. IMHO i would just do the full coilovers even if u not going for the slammed ride! can get a decent set of megans for like 800. im planning on doing hks but would love to do some OHLINS...........I them after having them on my ducati but want the car ones with the remote reservoirs but they to expensive and i will probably never get them! brian
  2. yeah no sense in NOT changing the water pump regardless of what they say! labor will be very cheap to do while they doing the timing belt and i don't buy the lifetime on a water pump! although they do say the fuel filter is lifetime and i still dont like that! brian
  3. Hey, I was pretty surprised with 28+ mileage on the road and even checked the odometer against the highway mileage markers to make sure of accuracy. Driving around the city in stop and go, I usually would get 19.8-20.4 but did not check all that often. Always have burned 93 octane and change the Mobil 1 every 3,000 miles which is probably ridiculous, but I keep cars a long time. Anyway, the car may be a freak but with mileage consistently like this, that is one of the main reasons that I may just skip changing the Iridium plugs. ap just never seen or heard or that kinda mileage from the gs series! ITS NOT EVEN FACTORY RATED FOR THAT! so........ who knows but it still doesnt sound right brian
  4. just came across this post http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=242216 brian
  5. welcome to the club! if u get 18's,19's,20's do some sort of lowering it will look better! brian
  6. yeah i have this too ONLY at 60........only option i havent done is a road force balance although i have been told about it but at 45 a wheel i'll pass at the moment! only time my car ever see 60 mph is on its way to 80 mph :D brian
  7. imho dont understand why anyone asks someone else's opinion on rims.......the MOST important thing is that YOU like them and dont give a crap about anyone else! 1. no you dont have to......but it will look lifted so i would suggest at the least you would get some aftermarket lowering springs and from what i know are factory strust dont like to be lowered so some aftermarket struts too! me personally i would go with some coilovers! 2. i would say yes but thats a personal opinion! i like 18's more than 17's! 3. i think dont quote me or anything but i think u can go up to 11" it maybe 10.5" though 4. depends on how fast you gonna go! like for some reason my stupid governor kicks on at 122 so i dont need v,w,y rated tires (i did give it a little cushion and went with h rated tires) here look at this website http://www.dunntire.com/Learning_Center/Tire_Speed_Ratings and theres my $0.02. hope some of that helped. oh yeah welcome to the club and congrats on the new car! if u sell old rims i might be interested in them! brian
  8. thats not gonna work in this case.......sounds like a stuck or frozen caliper or a bad wheel bearing but more like a frozen caliper! sounds like a bbk coming lol brian
  9. it does sound like a fuse......i pulled some one day when i was looking to troubleshoot something and couldnt move the car as it wouldnt shift into gear at all! check the fuses on the interior fuse panel by your left foot in drivers seat! be forwarned though either get a fuse puller that you dont have to pull the fuses or get some extras as i dropped a few (its a REALLY tight spot and im not a skinny feller! ;) brian
  10. u might be able to find them on craigslist BUT i wouldnt buy them off there! i dont trust craigslist AT ALL!!!!1 To many scam artists on craigslist, them! brian
  11. i thought there was a dubai india but maybe theres just the united arab emirates. yeah u know america is backwards.......look what side we drive on! n yeah here the lower the percentage the darker the tint is! B)
  12. You must have the GPriuS400! :D HAHAHA GPriuS400.....i could put this on a straight drop and still not get 29 mpg! um im a semi fat !Removed!.........jk im a big guy and i cant live without a/c! plus cracking window hurts mpg ALSO! i dont know anyone who has seen 29+ mpg but you! im getting 14-17 in the city depending on how i drive it and 20-23 on highway brian
  13. u can probably apply sealant (clear) around the outside of the headlight if you know where its coming from or heat the headlight in the oven and crack it open it scrape off old sealant and apply new sealant! or maybe just replace headlight! good luck brian
  14. :snoooorrrtttt: :chairshot: :chairshot: brian
  15. its a fix for pinhole leaks not a precautionary measure! i cant really see many other lexus people wanting to use sealant instead of replacing it...........SIGH :chairshot: brian
  16. well if i ever get to louisville we'll go have a drink or a few brian
  17. Just trying to clear my doubt....When you say the fuel consumption would drop when you increase you wheel size.. did you think this way...Since your wheel size is getting bigger, it has more area of contact, i.e it can travel an extra distance with the same power/ fuel consumed with bigger wheel size. this isnt a guess it is a fact and kinda common sense.........larger wheels take more energy/power (or more fuel) to turn! brian
  18. SIGH u would agree there! its not a freon leak here........the guy SPECIFICALLY says its a reddish pink color WHICH WILL NEVER BE A FREON ISSUE its a radiator, antifreeze, heater core, or a hose issue........ QUOTE(stupidog @ Jul 9 2005, 11:09 PM) the liquid has kind of a reddish pink color. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> as monarch said........... Reddish pink is the color of the factory original Toyota Long Life Antifreeze. So you might have a heater hose or heater core leak. Since the Toyota Long Life Antifreeze does a superbly good job of preventing cooling system corrosion, chances are high the leak is from a hose. If the heater core itself is leaking, then it would have to be from a crack in the metal rather than from corrosion. The bad news is that it's possible you might be facing a large labor expense for a technician disasssemble the lower dash in order to gain access to the heater hoses and heater core. If the shop claims both the heater hose and heater core need to be replaced, I personally would insist on seeing the old, failed parts because after only 7 years the hoses and core should still pretty much look like new thanks to the quality of the Toyota Long Life Antifreeze. I have no specific experience with your particular model Lexus so I suppose its also possible there might be another part or two inside the dash besides the heater hoses and heater core through which coolant circulates and where leakage could occur. brian
  19. i havent dont it........still contemplating the jet supercharger for the gs430! havent thought bought much more yet! maybe the ssr(i think thats the right brand) headers and a exhaust thinking greddy or hks! but these are almost 2 different sides of the poles on the exhaust! brian
  20. i'd just rather fix it right ONCE (without spending a fortune) then macguyver it! but your right to each his own brian
  21. no1 said to take it to the dealer! i just said dont use epoxy.......try this. we sell it at work and i have PERSONALLY used it! u can find it for a cheaper price under this link from a old post too http://www.shop.com/+-a-cliplight+super+se...g1-k36-st.shtml http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...c=39582&hl= good luck brian
