  1. Also bear in mind that the oil should be checked when the engine is cool and it hasn't been driven in a while. It takes the oil some time to drain back into the oil pan so if you check it right after turning the car off it will appear low when it really isn't. Pull the dipstick out, wipe it with a paper towel and put it back in. Then pull it out again and read the level.
  2. Use the Leatherique to take the Armorall off. The Armorall actually wont hurt the leather because its coated, if it were uncoated leather it would be ruined...
  3. Yep, Lexus Parts has the best pricing, and unfortunately you have to order them in sets of four. Look at it this way, you'll have spares... Do bear in mind though you're going to have to pay to ship them from Lexus-Parts so compare the price with shipping to the price with tax from your dealership, the mats are pretty heavy and come in a big box. They'll have to order them for you from your dealership probably, but they'll eat the shipping costs. If the price really is $117 vs $125 (my dealer charges $125 for a new set of mats) then its probably not going to be worth it to buy them from Lexus-Parts.
  4. The wheel will probably bolt up, the problem is the airbag. The 2000/2001 wheels that have the wood have second generation airbags that aren't compatible with your system. Plus the colors wouldn't match up. I reccomend American Stitches, www.american-stitches.com I think they'll do a wood/leather wheel for $450.
  5. Well if you've got $200 lying around for Lexus to change the oil ;)
  6. Or you could just try what those of us that have solved the problem did, switch to low sulfer gasses like BP or Sunoco. I did and in one tank the smell was gone. And as for our forum crash, that was a mishap at the fault of our ISP. This site is in no way shape or form related to the Toyota Motor Company or to Lexus. If anyone who works for Lexus reads this site they don't post, and they certainly aren't in a position where they could delete any of our information. Trust me, we'd love sponsorship from Lexus, the site's admins would stop having to pay out of pocket for the site's bills. Thousands of members and thousands of posts were lost, including 4 months of hard work designing and building the site by its administration. Why would we delete all that hard work for a few posts in the GX forum about a sulfer smell? What sense does that make? I think you need to take a reality check before you make the accusation again that this site is part of some conspiracy to make you smell sulfer Or you can talk with your feet and go post somewhere else...
  7. Thats why Lexus changed from Nakamichi to Mark Levinson, Nakamichi would not allow their system to be operated through a navigation system.
  8. 4100k ;) 4100k is the optimum light output, meaning that the most light is being projected at 4100k. People buy higher temperatures because they're "purpler" in appearance but in reality they put out less usable light and the light they do put out isn't as natural. You get up to 8000k and above they actually paint the glass. Anything higher than 4100k or 4300k (brands, one brand comes in 4100k one in 4300k) is simply asthetic.
  9. Nope, that definately won't fit your 92. Check out www.american-stitches.com they offer a re-cover...
  10. Wow, all 3? At least its all fixed...
  11. There should be a little button you can push to read the full text.
  12. If they didn't do the alignment like they should have (after such a replacement you'd HAVE to do an alignment I would think) that could have caused the vibration. That would also make sense why it gets worse under acceleration because weight is transfered to the rear...
  13. The Nak is a great unit, there is a significant difference. Only problem you can't get Nak with Nav, all Nav cars come with the pioneer.
  14. No, the software upgrade changes the shift logic but not that hesitation.
  15. I'd take it to Lexus since its still under warranty...
  16. Saddle soap is way too harsh for automotive leather. Good for saddles, not for seats ;)
  17. Yes, the LS magnifies any kind of wheel vibration 10 fold...
  18. With the Jetta and the Audi you're talking about a $20,000 car vs a $35,000 car, its like comparing a Corolla to an IS300, theres no comparison to be made. As for the interiors, I can see the family resemblence but thats it, and you truly are the only person I've ever heard say anything bad about an Audi interior. Even Lexus takes design cues in their interiors from Audi. Audis are very under-appreciated cars. The A8 is a fantastic car, very cutting edge, the A6 is a great mid road luxury car with a good ride, great interior, good power and economy. The A4 is a little small for me, but I see it as a worthy competitor to the 3 series BMW. Thing about the A4 is that its not designed to compete against the GS300, its designed to compete against the 3 series, C class, IS300. My only qualm with Volkswagen is the quality issues that my mother faced with her car and the way they dealt with them, it would definately keep me from ever buying a VW, and will probably keep me from buying an Audi.
  19. I dont know, it might work. As for the color, I think the 97 unit is the same color, that picture is exposed badly and the unit is pretty worn and dirty.
  20. LOL not at all! Not one peice in any three of those interiors is shared. Lexus interiors look just as similar to their Toyota counterparts. All it is is family lineage. The cars are even different sizes. The A4 is larger than the Jetta, but not as large as the Passat. I think you need to go and test drive a VW and an Audi, they're very different cars. You can be "true to your Aristo" and still acknowledge quality in other manufacturers.
  21. Here's the 98 radio: And the 97 Radio: As you can see its the exact same unit. These are the Pioneer units but the Nakamichi units are identical also. Also as you can see the only changes to that stack between 98 and 97 were to the climate controls and the vents. The radio should fit fine.
  22. Its the same radio in the same dashboard, it will fit.
  23. For instance here is the A4: And the Passat: I dont see how anyone can see they're the same interior at all...
  24. You're the first person that I've ever heard say anything negative about an Audi interior ;) And actually, not one component of the exteriors or interiors are shared between an Audi and a VW, except for little things like switchgear that Lexus shares with Toyota.
  25. Auto Art sells a nice pre-constructed model of the GS, IS, and RX...
