  1. Check out TireRack: TireRack And yes, you'll want to get an alignment when the tires are replaced.
  2. I would buy a california car duster over the OXO duster.
  3. Its definately something out of balance, could be the tires, rims, or both...
  4. You can also just push the button. I've been pushing the button for 5 years...no big deal.
  5. All dealerships sell a lot of off-lease cars, and generally individuals don't sell their own cars after the lease...they turn them back in to the leasing company. MOST pre owned Lexus (all luxury cars) cars 2-4 years old are off lease. Why the specific desire to buy off lease?
  6. No, why would the dealership replace your glass? Should they replace your bumper if it gets backed into in a parking lot too? Just put it into insurance, its not an at-fault claim.
  7. Well first of all torque steer is a characteristic of FWD, especially higher powered FWD vehicles. They engineer as much out as they can (and Lexus does that well on the ES) but its a characteristic of physics, they can't do away with it completely. The tech is not explaining torque steer correctly, torque steer is the tendency for the wheels to want to turn when the car is accelerating. He's talking about alignments being set to the crown of the road which is sort of true... As for the alignment, it sounds to me like your dealer is doing crappy alignments. Alignments ARE a wear item and are not covered under warranty, and you can't expect one independently owned dealer to swallow the cost of fixing another dealers crappy work. I would take the car to a well regarded independent import focused shop and pay out of pocket for a really good alignment (about $150). I bet it solves your problem...
  8. No my friend, I think its you that needs a little extra help. There would have been no negativity in this thread if it weren't for you. This is a Lexus forum, if you don't want to read pro-Lexus statements or opinions that Lexus is a better brand than other brands you shouldn't read or participate in the forum. Nobody was disrespectful to anyone but you. If you want to disagree, fine. Do it in such a way that doesn't denigrate the poster (i.e. insinuating that they are "talking smack" or are mentally challenged). If you can't do that, we'll show you the door. Got it?
  9. Its a great car, mine's getting close to 120k miles and it runs and drives (and looks) every bit as good as new. Much cheaper to repair than the LS too. I'd buy as new a one as you can afford (i.e. the changes in the '05) The '05 has some upgrades I like, such as the new fascia and rear lights, the radio controls on the steering wheel. Some I don't too, like the lighter silvery trim on the interior, and the wheels (but they can be easily replaced like LF did). As for the lag, extensively test drive the one you're considering buying. The lag doesn't bother me...you get used to it.
  10. Yeah that didn't sound like battery to me, definately the starter. Be glad its not an LS400...the starter replacement will set you back $1000-$1800 :o
  11. Nope, no fold down seats. there is a pass through behind the armrest for long items though.
  12. Nope, you have to hold the brake down to start most modern cars.
  13. Holy ancient threads batman! ;)
  14. I'm going to send her an email and ask if I can throw up in her face. Bet I get the same response!
  15. But you would have to special order all of those options. It is a second car for occasional driving...I don't see why it needs to be completely loaded to the gills if cost is a concern.
  16. It does have the power adjustable wheel? Cool, didn't know that.
  17. Its the tires, those Goodyear Eagles are crappy tires, replace them with something better, Michelin Primacy MXV4s or Bridgestone Alenzas and the road noise will be back where you expect it. Crappy tires get louder as they age like that. Well, all tires do but with crappy tires its more pronounced. Lexus vehicles quiet and smooth ride is very dependent on the tires.
  18. Joe, Its a Lexus forum, post on a BMW forum that you found their product wanting and will buy something else and see the response you get. Nobody here has been rude or uncivil...except you. If anybody here has started a "*BLEEP*ing contest" and needs to come down from their "high horse" its you, knock it off.
  19. You'll have another one lol. Get a newer one next time ;)

    Hey!

Not to worry about me, but people who haven't been as forward thinking as me are having a really hard time. This year is better than last year lol But...part of being forward thinking means not taking on extra liabilities right now meaning no LS.
  21. If you think the C240 is cramped in the back...the IS isn't gonna work. The IS should have memory seats as part of the luxury package... No power wheel though. Its a bummer but you get used to it, my ES doesn't have a power wheel (the new ones do).
  22. Well, just got back from having the gar serviced at LXT, they did a great job. Sat and chatted with the owner, Nelson, for a while and he's a really good guy, master Lexus service tech for something like 16 years, keeps up all his certifications. Cost of servive $150 after all the taxes, cost at the Lexus dealer $330 before taxes, so I think I made out well. Even had I left it and rented a car (he does have a loaner that he reserves for people when they have bigger services done like the 30k, 60k, or 90k) for $50 I'd still have been WAY ahead. Very enjoyable, I'll go back. He can work on Hyrbids too so we're going to take the Prius to him next time.
  23. This seagull scraped the hell out of my bumper.
  24. Interesting, I wonder what the reflectivity of the tape is vs the reflectivity of the paint?
  25. I just used the ICE product for the first time...and last time. Its okay, but nothing spectacular at all.
