No warranty? A/C systems dont need to be recharged after 2 years unless there is a problem. This is a warranty issue...

You're lucky. No point in protecting the hood if you don't protect the bumper, lights, and mirrors done. I'd have the whole thing done.

Its a great product!

Rx Shudder - Totally Insane Problem - Freaking Me Out!
SW03ES replied to CitizenPete's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
I've heard of engine and transmission seals going on cars in that age range on a number of makes of vehicles. Lets just say when they replaced mine at 90k, I wasn't real surprised. A rear main seal leak is not an uncommon occurance on an older car. Its not really a mileage thing as much as a degredation due to age thing. I would take the car somewhere else. That old IMHO you're really shooting yourself in the foot having anything done by the dealer. I would find a good independent shop that specializes in Lexus vehicles, or japanese vehicles in general. I just found one, and I enjoy using the dealer but my car is getting old and I've decided its time to save some bucks, and independent shops are actually better at diagnosing things than the dealers because they routinely work on older cars. I bet you can save a lot... -
Dealership Ruins My New Es350's Back Bumper Cover!
SW03ES replied to 69HEMI-R/T's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
No they didn't. If they had done it right they would have matched and tinted the color and painted the entire hood. They only painted the edge and blended yours up into the top of the hood. Even that is okay, but for yours they didn't step the blend out far enough over the hood...so you noticed a change in color. They did a crappy job, which unfortunately a lot of body shops...especially dealer shops...do If it were me I would have done a ton of research and chosen a body shop myself. I've had cars that have had body work and then had 100,000 miles put on them and the aftermarket paint wore just like the factory paint. Its the same paint, and now with modern paintbooths its applied the same way. No difference. -
Have you tried to work with the voice dial on the car?

This is the defining moment of our generation, how our government responds in the next week is going to decide the future of this country. This is our New Deal. Lets hope they get it right.

Lenore's post is the typical response to the bailout, but what it doesn't address is the fact that bailing out these companies is precisely what is going to keep his ATM card working. If we don't do it, I'm afraid we're headed down a road that we don't even have the slightest idea what exists at the end. I'm frustrated by it too, but the bill keeps the golden parachutes from happening, it caps CEO pay from companies that we take interest in. It is a good bill, and its neccisary. This is not a CEO bailout, not by a long shot. The CEOs are going to loose everything in this. Hindsight is always 20/20, and if we're smart as a nation we'll come away from this stronger for it and having learned some very important lessons, but something has got to be done because this economy is headed for the gutter. 10 days...thats about all we've got and if there had been no talk of a bailout we'd be there already. The bill saves these companies, and this economy needs these companies to function. It MUST be done, and it will be done. Unfortunately all the special interests are going to get another crack at the bill and its going to be a lot messier than it would have been. As for discussing politics in here, no issue with it at all as long as the discussion remains civil and friendly which it has. If you don't want to read this discussions, pass over the threads. I've been doing this a while...I know when something needs to be shut down and this is fine. Nobody's sniping, they're discussing their viewpoints which is the whole point of our forum. Rest assured though, I care deeply about this community and should it go south, it will end quickly and decisively.

Their soap is a powdered soap that can be very abrasive...

You don't understand the bill. The american taxpayer was going to recieve ownership interest in any company that we bailed out. American taxpayers and America very well could make money on the deal. They did similar things during the depression we made money on, and we made money on the savings and loan bailouts too. This was not the case in Paulson's original package, but it was included in the revamped bill the house voted on today. If this continues you won't have any customers for your products because nobody will have any money. America runs on credit, we're talking about a complete and total failure of our credit system. Its already occured on the commercial ends, banks aren't lending to banks or companies. Right now they are still lending to consumers...but that won't last much longer if something isn't done. Companies won't be able to make payroll... No offense but if you went out of business it wouldn't affect a whole lot of people. If all of the US lending institutions go out of business and cannot lend money, our entire economy will fail. These mortgage backed securities are EVERYWHERE. Every company invests in them. Every pension plan, your insurance policies, everywhere, all over the world. We're talking about no credit cards, no car loans, no home loans, no student loans for kids to go to college. A generation of Americans with their retirement wiped out. This is a disaster of monumental proportions that is looming about 10 days away... The package saves wall street, and wall street IS the economy. You don't save wall street, you don't save the economy. I'm as mad as you are that these fat cats were so stupid, but if they all go under we're going to be the ones that are going to suffer. When Warren Buffet, the most conservative financial mind in America says something needs to be done...I listen.

I'm REALLY particular about my car. But yes, you're being nuts. Dings nowadays (generally, I have one that is non-repairable) are so easily and cheaply fixed with PDR that as I see it you can have dings removed when they occur (and they will occur however careful you are whether you have mouldings or not) or you can drive the car around all the time and have it be ugly all the time by sticking mouldings on it that are going to stick out like a sore thumb.

Dealership Ruins My New Es350's Back Bumper Cover!
SW03ES replied to 69HEMI-R/T's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
Honestly? It will be just like new, especially on a bumper cover. Just look over it well. If anything it should match better than a part off another car, every car's paint is a slightly different tint as a part of the manufacturing process. When they repaint panels on cars nowadays they manually tint the color to match the color on that specific car. Accidents happen, I've had my car damaged by the dealer too and its maddening but as long as they're willing to do right by it then theres not a whole lot else you can do. -
Because that wouldn't solve the issue at hand, the economy would still fail. $1,000,000 a peice is not going to replace having viable companies who can employ people, having credit available for people and companies to borrow money. We have to save these companies so that they can in turn save the economy.

02' Rx300 Original Nav, Should I Update?
SW03ES replied to HumbleDragon13's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
Lets not turn this into a debate about the OEM unit vs an aftermarket unit, plenty of discussions about that. The OP's question was whether or not they should update the maps on their OEM unit. -
Very nice!

Really nice! I can't get over how much better those wheels look than the stock 05-06 17s...

I can't believe they didn't pass the bailout... My phone is ringing off the hook too with people wondering what this means for the real estate market and I have no idea what to tell them, nor does anyone else.
-
Sorry the guy is an idiot and I am infuriated by what he has done with the presidency I voted him into. It has nothing to do with me having to "grow-up". I am a successful businessman and a tax paying American citizen who knows a thing or two about how our economy and markets work, I'm a grown-up already. This guy is a disaster, and there are very few individuals left who disagree. Clinton NEVER had approval ratings as low as Bush...not even during his impeachment. The congress sucks too, I agree and I am really dissapointed in what they've done with my vote as well, but that doesn't change the fact that Bush is an idiot. I can't believe they didn't pass the bailout...

02' Rx300 Original Nav, Should I Update?
SW03ES replied to HumbleDragon13's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
It depends, do you routinely have issues with it navigating you incorrectly or missing roads? I'd update it personally, buy it online at www.sewellpartsonline.com but wait until next month because version 8.1 comes out. -
Rx Shudder - Totally Insane Problem - Freaking Me Out!
SW03ES replied to CitizenPete's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
Paul, Its an old car. You can't expect Lexus to cover a repair on a 10 year old car, its just not a reasonable expectation. If you want to take your business elsewhere you should do that, but no company would have covered a repair on a car that old, nor should they. A seal going bad over 10 years of use is not out of line if you ask me. Did you ever take the car to an independent mechanic and see what they would charge you to replace the seal? I've had cars that old that had much bigger things go wrong... -
There isn't any way to accomplish that. The voice recognition on the Blackberry works better than that in the car I agree. You would have to speak the name into the phone and use voice recognition that way.
-
Well, I would have reccomended you do an alignment when you installed the new tires, so they would have caught it ;)
-
I wouldnt use that mop thing, I'm a fan of hand mitts or sponges...
-
You know what I use? Armor All. No, really. I've used a lot of tire dressings and I always keep coming back to Armor All. Its cheap, water based, looks great, and lasts a decent amount of time.
