  1. I'm not certain, but I have heard that.
  2. Parts.com is definately the cheapest, but are you certain they are OEM genuine Lexus parts?
  3. First thing you have to understand is that all the dealers are independently owned, and their business philosophies vary greatly. For instance your iPod related repair would not be covered, but some dealers will cover a repair like that. The warranties are all pretty common sense. If its not a wear item (brakes, tires, etc) then it should be covered...
  4. The technology is always improving so that could definately be...I doubt its because of the HDD specifically though.
  5. It was REALLY bad yesterday too...probably some of the worst DC area road conditions I've seen in a long time. Storm really caught them with their pants down.
  6. And what about the ES350 that has the Denso unit and not the CTS unit?
  7. The LS pedal is hinged at the bottom, like the V8 GS. Totally different pedal. The ES is built on the Camry platform, the RX has been until the 2010, and the GX and LX share platforms with the 4 Runner and Land Cruiser. The LS, IS, GS, SC are all on Lexus-specific platforms...
  8. Dyno?
  9. Thats actually not what the latest recall claim is saying, its saying that the pedal mechanism gets physically stuck...
  10. All those scenarios are well and good, but there are a lot of assumptions there. First, you're assuming that the issue is indeed with the DBW system. Second, you're assuming that the throttle will just takeoff as opposed to becoming stuck in an open position when you are accelerating which makes more sense to me.
  11. I don't think the HDD system is going to help the voice recognition...the nav I like, its the just voice recognition that leaves a lot to be desired.
  12. Yeah we just paid off the Prius...so we're car payment free. I'm in no hurry to change that. I hear ya Steve....that is a good feeling. :)
  13. Toyota's system is pretty lousy though...
  14. You can also buy much nicer carpet mats too. I bought a set of Lloyd Heavyweight mats for mine a few years ago and the carpeting is so plush they remind me of the sheepskin mats on a Rolls Royce. Really nice and they have hundreds of colors, they'll send samples and you can find something that will work well with the interior. http://www.ultimateautoaccessories.com/Bra...Heavyweight.htm

    Gm Bait

Do you mean GM trying to attract Toyota owners to trade? Like dc I had some problems following what you are talking about... Thats business man. They see an opportunity...Toyota would do the same thing.
  16. Thats what I definitely want, but I'm not ready for $1,000 a month payments yet. Not enough confidence this recession is over ;)
  17. Those are definitely the OE mats. Lexus and Toyota both are using a grey or even a black mat in cars with tan interiors to avoid staining nowadays.
  18. In terms of the issues from 01 to 02, they sold a LOT more cars in 02 because its a new model and 01 would have been low because it was the last year of the old model...
  19. It calculates the range based on the economy showing in the computer. What does your economy show?
  20. Oh definitely, I will definitely replace them in a pair... I guess we'll find out if you were right about light output over time cd ;)
  21. The article makes it sound like such a failsafe is the industry norm, but its not. A few manufacturers have such a failsafe...but not all hardly... I'm interested to see what happens but I'm not afraid. My car can't kill be because I'm smart enough to be able to put it into neutral should the issue occur...
  22. We saw the GX460 today at the car show and actually didn't care for it...
  23. It was definitely the runflats...they ride much better without the runflats. I think the issue with the GS is that its homeless in the Lexus line. Its smaller, rougher, and more expensive than the ES so people looking for a luxury vehicle go that route. Anyone who really wants a $50k sports sedan looks at the E or the 5, or the M35...and don't really look at the Lexus. By the way, we went to the car show today and my wife LOVED the Genesis. Its really rare that she have that kind of a reaction to a car. She said she would want one for herself...she has never really liked driving the ES.

Oh yeah, I'm still very happy with the ES. 140k miles.
