  1. Hey guys I have a GS 300. I have been having that very common problem of shaking and vibration in my steering column that seems to be popular in our cars. I got it fixed this weekend!!! I changed my wheel bearing on my front drivers side and the vibration was still there but after I got all 4 tires rebalanced the car drives like the day I took it off the lot again I hope this helps!! Let me know if this works for anybody else P.S. I got a shop called "The Tire Place" to do my balancing while I watched :whistles:
  2. Thanks guys!! Yes Lexus does send you a new owners manual for free. It didn't have any specific info about the differential oil but is was still good to get. I went to the maintenance forum and someone in there had a pic of the process. There are two Hex screws, upper to fill lower to drain. It was really easy!! Thanks again
  3. Hey I was reading through the forum and came across a post asking about what type of oil the rear differential takes. Where do u check the oil level for the rear differential? How do u fill it? I ask because about a 2 weeks ago I started to notice some "jumping" when I get to the car and shift from park to rev etc... Before I couldn't even tell when I was switching gears. The jumping feels like it's coming from the rear of the car. It only does it when I'm switching gears from a stopped position and it doesn't do it all the time. I don't notice any difference in shifting while driving. I have a 98 GS 300 Any ideas?
  4. Hey guys! Last weekend I was at a left turn signal and when i was making the left turn from a stop at about 10 miles per hour (if that) I heard a loud boom!!! like a tire popped and I was riding on the rim. I pulled over immediately to change the tire but when I looked the tire was fine and the wheel well was kind low on the tire. I got it towed to an ASE certified shop and they said it was the lower ball joint that popped out. I had it fixed (had to go to work etc.) but the mechanic said I shouls contact Lexus about it cause it wasn't supp to happen like that not to that car. I called corp cust serv line and they said take it to a dealership and have it looked at to see if (Lex corp) would do a goodwill reimbursement, service etc. I took it to them and they said it was normal wear that caused it to happen. What do you guys think? I was going to call corporate back about it because this isn't a ford I don't expect to be driving and having the wheel almost fall off without sufficient warning!!! What about if I was on the highway doing 60 and that would happened :chairshot: I have a 98 GS 300 in very good condition. What should I do? Suck it up and take the loss or pursue!?
  5. I would really appreciate it if a could get a carfax for JT8BD68S6W0041410. Thanks in advance.
  6. Thanks for the help. I'll have it hooked up and checked out.
  7. Hey guys!! I'm new to the club and I need some help, Just bought a 98 GS 300 3 weeks ago. Everything has been great until yesterday. I was driving normally applied pressure to the gas and all the warning lights on my dash lit up!! :cries: I came to a stop light and when I tried pulling off, I applied pressure to the gas and nothing happened! I cut the car off and cut it back on and then it started working normal again but a while later a could feel a major decrease in power. I was stuggling to get to 30mph and then it went back to normal. Any ideas!!??? Please help
