  1. Depending on the vehicle perhaps (say the Cavalier & Sunfire)......but I think that's a little harsh for the entire company & ALL of it's divisions. The General does make decent products, except not many care because of past bad experences. I personally would buy another GM product again (used mind you to take advantage of the serious depreciation). ;)
  2. Tell me your kidding sw!? You would actually consider the EL42's? I'd rather buy the Potenza RE 92's over them! :whistles: Here you go..... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...romCompare1=yes You must really like buying tires man.......you will be replacing them in less than a month they are so pathetic.
  3. We have a differential? Never saw that in my owners manual :whistles: If we do, I assume it is covered when we change the tranny fluid anyways & takes Toyota type IV fluid or equivlent? & btw, if the trip is all highway (or let's say mostly highway) it's not hard on the engine or tranny as long as no towing is involved. ;) Safe journey! :)
  4. I guess the secret is to be patient & eventually you will find what your looking for. B)
  5. I agree......make sure all fluids are up & clean. Tire pressure is a must for safety & fuel economy. Are your breaks OK? I like your choice of oil & oil filter.....nothing but the best for me too! :D Enjoy the drive! Been to Florida twice now (1500+ miles times 2 each time, including right down to Key West!). Can't think of a much better car to travel in. ;)
  6. Actually I bought it outright from a guy in NJ for $4.50 U.S. funds I think (buddy of mine has an E-bay account) :D A 2002 Highlander brochure.....should be here early next week! ;) I was going nut's not being able to find one lol
  7. They would be my compliments to whomever could make use of them of course ;) Did not intend to lead anyone to think they were 'for sale' :) Just wanted to clear that up to any other members in case there was a mis-understanding (which steviej & I have already). Wanted the 'record' to reflect that. B) If anyone want's them, they are yours.......just PM me your information.
  8. Just read the owners manual a few times dream......you will be an expert then! B)
  9. Have a look at the buy & sell thread on this site.....there might be something there or try www.clublexus.com B)
  10. If I were you, I'd go with the Falken's hands down from what you have told me. You will not be disappointed & you will be pleased with the price to boot! An excellent Japanese performance all season that are good for 60,000 miles! B) Good Luck & let us know what you decide.
  11. More accurate fuel economy numbers will start showing up after your first oil change at 5,000+ miles at least. The engine is still getting 'broken in' dude (all brand new cars have higher fuel consumption because of this, hybrid or not) & for some reason I feel that you have set your expectations so high that you are your own worst enemy because of it. Be a bit more patient on this & relax!........and start to enjoy your new ride more, she is a beautiful piece of machinery.
  12. Just saw this 'Breaking News' on CNN this morning....I actually feel pretty bad for the General & their employee's. :cries: :( http://money.cnn.com/2005/06/07/news/fortu...dex.htm?cnn=yes

    Age?

28, Male here......Information Technology currently, but maybe not for much longer ;) :whistles: B)
  14. Thanks for sharing LEXIE B) It's the old story, if you take care of your car, your car will take care of you. ;) Sounds like you also do what I like to call 'preventitive maintenance'. If I maintain my ES like that, I would expect nothing less. :) Enjoy!
  15. My in-law's have the Escape......& it's too small, with a small fuel tank that does not get great gas mileage. I too thought about the Mazda 3 sport hatchback, but the wife want's a 6 cyl which I can understand. Pacifica is not a bad looking vehicle, but I'll never buy a Chrysler product because of past experences my father has had. B) The Pilot keep coming up......I am going to have to look into this a bit more. B) & I hear ya sw about the tranny on the AWD Highlanders. ;)
  16. It also offers AWD! B)
  17. I agree VB! :D I can live with that answer! B)
  18. I agree with sw with regards to any tire is better than the Bridgestone Potenza RE 92......they are simply garbage! You need the 215 60 16 size? :) We do disagree however with the Toyo Proxes TPT which I have been very happy with in just over 15,000 miles I have put on them. They were one of the very best choices at the time I put them on but as of today, there are better choices. A lot comes down to what exactly are you looking for in a tire? IE: Will you be putting seperate snow tires on in the winter or feel with the right tire you can get by with an excellent all season set? Do you want long mileage & a comfortable ride or more suited to a bit more aggressive & performance type of tire (although I think we can all agree the ES is no sports sedan). Give us details on what exactly you would like & what's important to you in a tire & we can better suggest the best available to suit your needs. B) The Yoko's sw suggests are quite good, so is the Yokohama Avid H4S (I wouldn't go below an H speed rating personally). B) - Definately put the Falken Ziex ZE-512 on your short list. They came in first overall in a test of about 20 A/S performance tires & I have suggested them a lot over the last year or so (my wife even has a set on her Ford Focus ZX5). They are fantastic, especially in snow & heavy rain fall & have a 60,000 tread life & you won't be able to beat the price compared to many other choices.....they are simply awesome value in a Japanese made tire. Here is some more info & do a search of the Falkens to find out more. I have these on my short list to replace my Toyo's when the time comes on my 01 ES. B) http://www.falkentire.com/tires_512.htm The Michelins are a pretty good tire, but as sw mentioned, very expensive (you could probably get 2 sets of the Falkens for the price of 1 set of the Michelins & they have about the same treadwear rating, & traction wise the Falken is superior!) :whistles: Keep us posted on what you decide & feel free to ask away if you have any more questions.
  19. Do you prefer summer rubber or all seasons ras? A/S will last much longer than summer, but it depends what you are looking for as far as performance, ride, longevity etc in a tire. Give us some more specifics on what your looking for & we can help narrow down the best choices for you. What is the exact tire size you need as well? B)
  20. I have a set of the Stealth bulbs compliments of steviej that I am unable to use for my car. If anyone is intrested PM me & let me know. B)
  21. Go for the 2000 model.......the tail lights alone are worth it lol. B) Is all service & warranty work accounted for on this car? If so you might want to consider passin on the extended warranty. B)
  22. Did the info that T.L.W. give you on CL help out at all steviej? B)
  23. After reading his posts over a second time I would have to agree with you sw! B)
  24. Yes it is VB B) On Toyota Nation.com, well over 30,000 hits so far to see the spy shots! :D
  25. From your initial post, I don't think you have given enough time & miles for the vehicle to be properly 'broken in'. :whistles: How many miles are currently on the RX?
