  2. So, my baby goes up on the rack this weekend. Unfortunately as much as I would like to drop everything and dis all my responsibilities and just work on it non stop until finished, I will have to divide my time and do it over a couple of days. It really doesn't matter though because I have had to schedule my time on the dyno anyway. Originally he had the dyno locked up. He rents it out to a couple of local racing teams. They come to the shop and set up their cars. And he has a race coming also to get ready for. But they worked on his car and everything came out great, so I will get the time on the dyno I wanted. So, I wanted to be sure that I had everything done so I would be ready. ( You allways hope everything goes smoothly, but then you hit a bump or two along the way.) Atleast I get to do all the work at the shop, my pop is giving me a lift bay to use for the week, and I have most of my tools there anyway. And what is really nice is that the weather conditions can effect hp and torque, and make it harder to tune, the cooler and lower the humidity, the better. ( I mean to a certian extent. wer'e not talking freezing temps and 0 humidity, but 70 degrees and 40-50% humidity is ideal. And when I go on the dyno, that temp and humidity should be right about the right time!!!!!
  3. Well, here are those pics of the great white hope;

  5. Yeah that's much better Mr. Peektures. LOL!!!!!! 900 bucks is gettin good!!!! I didn't see the free back up camera deal, A local sound shop here was offering free Boyo cameras and I heard they had alot problems ( very cheap make) and ended up discounting installs instead. I checked the accessories crutchfield has for the AVIC, and if it's any of the cameras they have listed then thats an awsome deal!!! Wholesale I paid like 590 for mine. So if you add the camera to it, then your only fifty to a hundred bucks more for full retail. I'd take that deal all day long.
  6. I was cruising thru the shop and saw our collection of 'FUS" parts. Thought you might like to see em: And heres some blown head gaskets:
  7. What, no link? No click and go and see what the heck your talking about? LMAO!!!
  8. If your not racing it then why go staggered ? Something to think about is that you can't rotate the tires anymore. So the tires wear alot faster and are harder to maintain. Just a thought. Why not just go wider rims all around ? Seems like alot of cash for very little effect.
  9. The Garrett GT70R Turbo is a stage 5 race only turbo that supports up to 2000 hp. I looked at what they are showing on ebay,and that can't be a Garrett GT70R. The specs don't line up. the Garrett has a compressor : 141 mm, 56 trimm, and 1.05 A/R. and only comes is 1.25 A/R or 1.47 A/R housings. I don't know what turbo they have there. Also, thier kit doesn't include a fuel management system or larger fuel injectors. I would be leary. Maybe you could ask them who manufactures the turbo. Iv'e done alot of turbos, and it matters. Don't let them tell you otherwise.

  11. The Metra interface doesn't work. You'll need the right one. I'll call my buddy and get you the right part number. Well, I sort of have "connections" for all the interface equipment. I used to work for a custom audio shop. The owner and I still hang out together.( He likes to come over and eat my food and drink my beer),LOL!!!, anyway, thats where I get my stuff thru. If you need, I could talk to him and get you the right plug and faceplate set up. Oh, and a quick heads up, make sure you ( DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!) tape up the edges of the dash with blue painters tape. If you don't, you will completely F**k up the edges of dash. I got lucky, my buddy called me the morning I was getting ready to do the install and he said he was laying on the couch when he suddenly remembered the nightmare he went through on an IS 300 he did awhile back. So he thought he'd call me and give me a warning. So I taped it up and did my install. Later at his shop, he showed me pics of that job, man, I would have been irrate!!! The edges were messed up!!!! I just went to the links you put up in your post. I see you saw that the Metra doesn't work right.
  12. I wouldn't be to concerned with the mileage for one tank. It's more about the average mileage over say a few tankfuls. You may have had a heavey traffic week and sat at lights idling more than normal. and you may have had some conversations with someone while the car ran, etc. etc. I know once in awhile it seems that the novus star aligns with Pluto and all the cars seem to decide to stack up on my trip back and fourth to work, and even the short cuts for the short cuts are packed with slow moving cars. heyoceanfloor pretty much hit the points that can be easily remedied for the mileage woes. Of course, if you really want to get good gas mileage then you can put a turbo on it.
  13. (okay, Brian Griffin I get, ( Family guy right?) But who the hell is Edwin Fenton?) LOL!!! Steve Whitmire
  14. yeah i'm pretty excited for it, nooo doubt! this is the writeup I was going to follow: http://www.isfanatics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=230 I think it's the same one that's on my.is. did you use the faceplate i pictured there on yours? Yeah, that's a good write up. He did soem things differently than I did. But I'm sure it will get you there. The face plate you have and the one they used are different than the one I used. I have the heated seat functions also, and I didn't have to touch that button assembly at all. I used a two piece face plate and I wired the ipod into the glove box for safe keeping and so it won't go sliding out when you slam on the gas.
