You probably have a speed sensor issue on the transmission. If you can have an ODB2 scanner give you a code, we can determine the answer.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to just give you a smart a$$ answer. I was going to come back and answer your question, but forgot about the post. But I see 2JZTWIN Turbo had my back on this one. ;)

ciao, come state facendo? avete trovato l'amplificatore?

In order to be able to help you with this, I would need alot more info. And you meant the Trac Off light is blinking correct? The ABS system and the Traction Control system work together. So it could be a whole slew of possibilities. When you took it to Autozone, did they give you what dtc code was showing? When he said it might be the speed sensor, I think he meant the wheel sensor. The speed snsor that controls the speedometer is located in the transmission. So if he saw say a C1271/71 code, that would be the right front speed sensor. which also means low voltage output. That can be because some crud has gotten in there and the sensor may just need to be cleaned. If a C1275/75 code came up, then the right front sensor has an abnormal output. Which usually means it needs to be replaced. But it could also be your Skid control ECU, or you may be low on brake fluid, so, as you can see, if you can have the DTC codes read and tell me what they are, then I can be very specific and help you that way. You will need someone with an ODB 2 scanner. It plugs in under the dash and it's not hard from that point. A hand held device would be sufficient.

Okay, I just took a break. the car is in the bay, the hood is up, fender covers are on, intake is out. I expect to be done Saturday afternoon, and so I won't be posting anything until I am fully BOOSTED!!!!!! I might even get done in time to get a time slip run or two at the track!!! When it's all done I will post everything for every one and the record. So, with heavy wrench in hand, I'm off............

Oh, I wasn't sure you wanted the wiring diagram. It's on the way now. The glove box is inside the car. It is the compartment that folds down in front of the passenger. So, sit in the driver seat, look at the passenger seat, in front of that seat is what we call a glove compartment, you call it a ?????, if you look under the door, you will have a hinge on each side that pops inward. the door will now come off. directly behind the door is the ac air filter, ( which you might want to replace now.) on the side of the car, inside that area, is the amplifier. Here is the diagram:

Welcome to the LOC!! when it comes to tires that perform in all weather conditions, you generally end up with a half a$$ tire. And generally doesn't do either job very well. There is just inherent issues that combat each other. For example, large deep tread makes for great traction, but sucks for road noise. Lots of uneven cut blocks make for good ability to move away snow from between the tread blocks, but again hurt handling alot. And if you go the other way, a tire that has smaller tread groove spaces makes for a nice quiet ride, but suck for traction on ice and snow. So you have to balance how much you want to give up one for the other. I would strongly consider getting another set of rims off ebay, (they don't have to be expensive ones.) and then get a set of real snow tires for the the winter, and then switch back to performance tires during the summer months. You'll actually come out ahead, as your tires will last alot longer, and you will have the best of both worlds. But if you still want a all season with snow capabilities, then RE96 Bridgestones are ok. And so are the Avon Techs. But these are all designated for light snow only. I have seen winter tire packages including rims for as low as 700 bucks. And they are dedicated snow tires. Just in case you wanted to know.

Yeah, in Florida we have the Cuban waves that crash on our beaches, and the Peurto Ricans, and Mexicans. I have nothing against any of them. In fact, any person that goes thru the proper channels and comes here legally, I welcome like a neighbor!!!! But when your breakin the law, your a criminal. end of the story! And what drives me insane about this subject, is that there are people that are upset with our government for not doing more to help them. WHAT?@!?@?!? Why aren't they upset with the governments of their countries where these people come from for not providing enouph jobs and assistance and education for thier own people????? Why don't these people move to Mexico and start programs there to help????? I'm not saying that we should turn our backs on people. But with budget short falls everywhere, you have to make cuts someplace. Why do our children is schools allways have to suffer, and police needs allways have to be bare minimums, and our firefighters on double duties, and our hospitals charge full rates for those who can pay to make up for all the ones that don't, and so on and so on. I am a business owner. The practice of highering illegals only corrupts owners. they can charge less, and make more off the illegals who are mostly just grateful for having a job. They are the ones fighting to keep them in this country. Small business owners have a big voice in politics. Iv'e heard so many times on the news "People want their products cheap so that's why the hiring of illegal aliens is needed." The whole thing is sooooo wrong. And it has to stop!! I pay my people well. They can actually have a life off of what I pay them. But my company suffers because I don't have the capital reserve that most of my compitition has because of their hirering practices. I have been under bid many times on the mere fact that they have an illegal crew that doesn't get health care benifits, workmans comp, and substancially lower pay. It gets frustrating, and there have been times I have wanted to cave in, but I just can't see doing that to people I care about. I will not trade my values for profit!! -
that's funny! the Stimmhorn

Your welcome. the amplifier is on the passenger side next to the glove box. You will have to remove the glove box like you would do to replace the air filter. Look inside to the left and that little metal box mounted on the side is the amplifier. When I get home I can send you the wiring diagram so you can follow the wiring.

I agree you would want the insurance. But I still don't think it should be a law. That was my only point there. The illegels in your area are braking the law and nobody has until recently really tried to enforce that. And, hey, let a cop see you driving without your seatbelt on and your a criminal!!!! Just doesn't make much sense to me. And according to how things are going, if I'm not mistaken, in California right now, there is a bill that would grant the illegal aliens a drivers licsence!!!!! No, all they should get is walking papers back to their country!!! -

Yeah, fortunately there is no helmet law in Florida if your over 18. So, go figure, you can jump on bike with no helmet or seatbelt, but if you get in a car, you have to have insurance, and wear a seatbelt. As we elect a Republican President, vote in a Democratic Senate, and have a split house, then wonder why nothing can get done. -

Welcome to the LOC. You have found the right place. If by the "book of instructions" you mean the owners manual, it's posted here at the top of this forum. I also have the full breakdown book for the IS 300. Milano, Italy huh? very cool!!! I have visited there before. I am Italian also, but I have lived my whole life in the US. Our home country is I think the most beautiful of them all. You have a very nice car there. As I'm fairly sure the only differences are in the engine bay, when it comes to the radio, your gonna have some issues. The stock radio, amp and speakers are on a 2 ohm load. Most after market products run on 4 ohms. So, if you replace the amp, then you will also have to replace the speakers. I have the wiring diagrams if you need them. So, can you post some pictures? Of the car and stuff? Post some of the interior as well as the engine bay, and outside of the car so if you need other info, I can try and help. And by the way, feel free to ask any questions you have about the car. If I don't have the answer, we can get it for ya. Chow.
