Ya think Pappy? Perhaps you could explain to me where the flywheel is on the GS300. As far as I know, they use a torque convertor to provide inertia, not a flywheel. And perhaps you could also explain how a driveshaft, stationary at idle with the vehicle stopped, could produce a vibration such as the original poster described. At least Smooth1 offered some advice in order to attempt to help the OP. Right, auto tranny, not manual. Sorry. My bad. I mentioned this because the op also said he had the tires balanced and rebalanced. If the car is standing still then the balance of the tires have nothing to with anything then. Yet he said it made it a little better? So I wasn't sure where he was going with the original issue. And I had a friend spend alot of money on replacing perfectly good suspension components and rims and tires and so fourth only to finally find out he had a drive shaft issue that was causing the vibration.

(Isn't that the reset button?) LOL!! Denny's Diner

when you disconnect the battery, it clears the ecu and resets the dtc codes. Then the ecu rerecieves the codes from the sensor and throws up the cel again.

Tommarrow, maybe wrap it up thurs.

I haven't heard of the heater sensor causing any engine running issues, as I think it mainly monitors the cats.

I still have to finish the intercooler plumbing, then put the injectors in and the fuel pump on. Then tap the AEM mgmt. system in. Flush the oil and refill . Run the gauges and monitor sytem. Then it's dial in and tune time.

And,,, TADAAAH!!,,,,, The turbo is in: Here is the blow off valve and wastegate installed: Here is the oil feed and return taps: And here is a shot of the intercooler on :

Ok, busy day today in the garage!!!!! Here you go: The exhaust sytem is done: All new pipe all the way back : New Y pipe and hihg flow cat.

Not sure, as your out of the warranty, but I would call them and see if they may discount it or something. Cold, you should read 11-16 and warmed up you should read 26-32. So the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced.
-
Well, the P0500 DTC is a "No signal fron=m speed sensor "A". for the Skid control ECU. That's the sensor off the rear of the tranny. Probably needs to be replaced because it's a no signal DTC code, and not on of the intermitten or corrupt signals. The P1656 DTC is I think actually a D 156 DTC off the 02 sensor Heater control, bank 1 sensor 1, or it's the OCV sensor in the ECM. There is a TSB on the heater control bank 1 sensors though. So that's probably the issue.

Yeah, the R1 line is nice. I beleive it's the tuner line? The GTR series is the best line I think. But remember, they are still cast wheels. But very nice ones. And the prices are pretty good also. If you want a super nice forged 3 pc. racing rim, then get the SSR Proffesor MS1's. That's the set I'm gonna get later. I was thinking the Hyper Black with the carbon fiber center caps. You can pick your own offset, rim size and width, and they just make em for ya. OOOHHH Yeah!!!!

good . And thanks for the resolution follow up.

HHmm, not the speed sensor,,,,huh. well, that only leaves the cable and the speedometer gauge itself then. Which is unusual that they would have an issue.

Total Disaster On My Gs300 Ac
smooth1 replied to mgcho's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
Sorry to hear about your issue. Most people don't realize that replacing the freon every couple of years can prevent this from happening. the Freon contains seal conditioners and a system lubricant. What you just had happen is called Black Death. With a 104K on the car, I would consider a small mechanic shop who can maybe get some used parts and so fourth. Maybe save ya a grand or so. -

Heres a few for now: Up on the lift getting ready to remove the exhaust Removed the intake, header and all the other stuff thats in the way. Just finished tapping, and running the oil line. I have more pics, but it's really hard to take pics with your hands all oily and nasty. So I'm having a friend take them. When we get further along or done, I will post all of them then so everyone can see what is involved with installing a turbo. B)
-
Smooth, Can you take pic's from start to finish ? Yeah, no problem. In fact I already started. I was going to wait and post em all at the same time, or I could just post what I have so far as I progress.
-
Yo, don't be afraid to be you. When I ordered my rims I just told everyone I ordered rims. When they came in, none of my freinds liked em. They all thought I made a mistake. But then a few days later I got the tires and put the rims on, and they all changed their minds. Now they love them. In fact, ( Which sorta *BLEEP*ed me off a little.) one of them went out and put the exact same set on his Honda.

The ones you like better. B)

I don't think you will any real issues with either of them. they are both known manufacturers and I would say comparable to each other anytime your looking at cast rims. It's not until you start talking about forged rims and 3 pc. competition forged rims that you start seeing any huge differences in perfromance, strength and weight.
