  1. Hows that Beamer holding up?
  2. depending on the current color of the car, and what color you want to go to, I would say spending 5 grand on a paint job should yeild a finish with no bitching. 6-8 grand will get you some nice custom paint work and 8-10 grand will be some premiere mirror finishes. Any more than that and your paying for airbrush work or custom art work on the car of some kind.
  3. Yep, I watch it. But I have to record them and watch them when I can. I try to stay in order so I can follow whats going on.
  4. Hey LEXIRX330. Hows it going? Yeah, I've been pretty slammed at the shop also lately. But with everything that is going on in the world, I'm sure happy to have that as a problem!
  5. Good to hear from you Josh. I've often hoped you were safe and well.
  6. And not a single recall in Japan that I'm aware of.
  7. Happy Birthday! (Man these sure do seem like they come around quick!) LOL!!!
  8. If I had "Super Moderated" you, you see that warning bar under your avatar? I would have given you a warning there, PM'd you why you were getting that warning, deleted this thread, and set all your posts for moderator approval before they would be allowed to post up on the boards. As I said, I looked at your posting history, and I saw you weren't a spammer, so I let this thread stay, and just "guided" you to the rules so we don't have any misunderstandings in the future. So I hope you see this more as a tap on the shoulder and a friendly word of advice is all. I've been in the biz for alot of years, and a gallon of quality clear coat alone is almost 300 bucks! So I don't know what kind of paint job you should expect for 500! Even if your using a single stage acrilyc, just the prep work, sand, and tape off takes hours. And that's before the car even goes in the spray booth.
  9. The reason I ask is because references should only be given by personal experiences. Otherwise we end up with a bunch of threads that look like advertising. (Hint Hint.) It's one thing to come to the boards and say "Paint Shop X just repainted my car and wow, what a great job they did." Or if a member comes to the boards and asks if anyone knows of a good auto paint shop in the area, again you should only speak from personal expereinces. It's another to just post local ads from the paper on here. I looked at you post history, and I see your not a spammer. Here are the forum rules: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?act=boardrules Please read the seventh rule under advertising. Please understand we have these here for a reason. I would appreciate your help with this. Thank you.
  10. Ford has always been a great car mfgr. My issue with them has been more about styling than anything. It looks like they are finally getting the message.
  11. Have you had them repaint your car?
  12. Nice job. Did you measure the cubic air needed for the Kicker or did you make the box to fit the trunk? I'm only asking because I thought the Kickers didn't need as much air as you seem to have, along with the dual ports. Are you running the stock sound system with an added sub, or do you have a full system? And you have a PS also? On the rear headrest screens? A buddy of mine has a PS3 hooked up to a 32'' flat panel mounted in the trunck lid. He just tosses a lawn chair behind the car, pops open the trunk, and it's Game on! LOL!
  13. NC!, you won a gold medal for your winter olympic games??!!!! Awsome! Conratulations!
  14. Great, now that the big group hug is done, can we get back to helping NC211 with his new car quest? :whistles:
  15. Sounds more like fuel quality issue. You might have some water in your gas tank. I would drain the fuel tank, and refill it at another quality gas station. Maybe drop a pint of gas dryer/conditioner in there and run it out and see if that solves the issue.
  16. Thats just not happening up here...the cars definately sell... I've decided I am definately going to pick up an LS in the middle of all of this...I just have to wait for the right one and the right price. Do me a favor down there smooth, keep an eye out for a 2005 or 2006 (preferably an '06) LS430 with nav in white, the cypress green, or that medium bronze color... I can always fly down there and stay with you for a week or so when I pick it up ;) Sure. No problem. I'll call my guy. B) I'll email you the info on what I find along with pics and details. If you see one you think will work and it's not to far from me, I'll go and do a close up look at it for you first. If it still holds up, then I'll let you know.
  17. You'd have to drive to bayou country for this one, but it's more typical of what I see. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u...mp;rdpage=thumb I went to the auto auctions last week again for the first time in about 3 or 4 months, and I would say the best window for buying is going to be within the next 3 or 4 months before prices starts going back up on certian car makers. It won't be to long before the market reaction to the Japanese automakers woes start to show up in demand for European cars and trucks. American mfgrs are going to get a nice sales bump out of this as well, but I think they'll see alot fewer cross buyers then say BMW, MB, and Audi. as now Hyundai, will be the big benificary of that market.
  18. I don't think they made the wagon version in 06. I could be wrong. But I did a quick search for ya, and man, I think I would take a road trip for this one: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u...mp;rdpage=thumb They didn't make alot of em with the pano roof. Nice color, non smoker, low miles, this is the right package. If it checks out, ( only slight bumper damaged and repaint on the bumper only.)
  19. So NC211, how far down the road are you looking to make this happen maybe? Do you know what year and motor/trans combo you want yet? I drove a 328 the other day, and I was surprised how much pep it had. What about an older Z4? LOL! Just askin......I kinda like the wagon version of the Z4. Is this car going to fill other "needs" in the house?
  20. Yeah, I see lots of them on the road too. I agree, my opinion may or may not represent the public at large. But most people I talk to, if they like the 3, they hate the 5, and also like the 6, if they like the 5, they also like the 7, and are so so on the 6. So it's a pretty polarizing line up right now. The new 5 series coming out next year is supposed to be pretty hot looking though, from what I've heard it looks more like the CS that was supposed to come out, but has been put on hold. That would be really nice! The fat bottom 5 series would definately turn the corner on design then!
  21. LOL!! OK, heres one with Nav, not wrecked, pretty much loaded without having the VIP or executive suite, http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u...mp;rdpage=thumb Like I said, I see them everywhere now for about this price. I just seem to be picking bad examples. And I think if you walked onto these lots with 32K- 34K(ish) in hand, you'd be driving out with an LS. To keep this in perspective, I did a search 6 months ago, and the very best deal I could find was $49.7K. Lets say we are at 37K now, that's still a 10K drop in 6 months! This Toyota/Lexus recall thing has got to be hurting resale values and scaring new buyers away.
  22. Yeah, I'm liking the new 3 series also. A buddy of mine has a 06 M3. That car is very smooth. Even under full acceleration. @SW I sort of agree with you about getting a 5 series, only because of the room, but I wish the 5 series looked like a larger 3 series instead of,,,,,well, what it looks like right now. Chris Bangle has really been tweaking the 3 and I'm liking it more and more!
  23. I haven't researched the cars, I've just been seeing those prices more and more, so here's a better example, it has a few more miles on it, but it's CPO and sold by Lexus of Orlando, http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=u...mp;rdpage=thumb I'm sure there is room there for negotiating.
  24. I know! Remember when I was looking for the ML, and I was hoping to get an LS for under 50k? Now they're giving them away here! Good thing I didn't get one then, I'd be pretty upset right now! That was only 6 months ago!
