  5. I think mburnickas and TOGWT are probably the most knowledgable on this topic. re2833. if you really want to know about synthetic oils look those 2 up. :)
  6. Which is why I kept telling him to do the amp first.
  7. I was surprised you didn't already!!
  8. Dude,,, yeah the wires should all be run. But trust me when I say, do the headunit last. and work your way up.
  9. I would put in the amp and hook up all the connectors, then run all the wires to the center compartment. Once you have everything ready, you can just plug it all in and then reassemble the center console from the bottom up and tuck all the wires in as you go, so the last thing on should be the dash compartment at the top.
  10. Go here: http://www.l-tunedparts.com/index.php On the side select your model and year, then go to interiors. I saw they had 2 different kinds there. I actually like the cheaper one better than the other one, but that's up to you.
  11. Yeah, your gonna need to pull the center coltrols out also, as the brackets on the sides are conntected to both the radio and the ac controls. It makes everything fit better going back in. And to put it in, just go in reverse of the directions.
  12. Hey SK, while your asking him about the trunk mats and stuff, could you see if he's selling the front right nut also? I think I dropped mine the other day moving a tranny. LOL!!!
  13. No not hard at all. Here are the steps with pics: http://my.is/forums/2997488-post18.html Don't forget to tape off the plastic trim around the radio so you don't scratch it all up.
  14. I use Amsoil,,,what up? Am I supposed to put on my supeiriorilstic attitude and step up on the pedastal and rain down facts of immortality by lubrication?
  15. Well, first of all they have come along way in the past ten years with developing both better gaskets that hold up, and synthetic oils that have gasket conditioners in it. Remember, back then alot of people had alot of misconceptions about synthetic oils. Like if you use synthetic, you had to do it early in the cars life, and you can't mix conventional with synthetic. Now we sell conventional/synthetic blends, and they have a synthetic specially developed for high mileage cars, even if you had the car on conventional oil for 80k miles. Mobil makes a good oil. There are better out there, but for the everyday driver and average duty vehicle, Mobile, Quaker state, Valvoline....they are all very comparable in mix stock synthetics. The benifits of synthetic oils now so far out weigh the cons and conventional oils, I don't even think it's a valid question anymore.
  16. O' Shoes (heels of course) ;) fishnets :)
  17. Hey there boostedis300. At the bottom of each page is a Search forum tool bar. So in the future, if you need info like this I would try that first as we have covered this a billion times. The amp is located behind the dash, on the passenger side, mounted on the inside of the fender next to the glove box. Just pop the hinges off the glovebox door ( ------> <-------), directly behind the golve box is the cabin air filter, to the right side of that is the amp. So you have a boosted IS300? Mind if I ask what your set is?

  19. Would go over well at spring break. LOL!! Sorry everyone, I couldn't resist! ;)
  20. You need a bigger alternator, keep the capacitor on and use the isolator. The system is draining faster than the alternator can recharge it.
  21. I saw this thread and thought you might be interested. We covered this topic a little while ago. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=43672
  22. Then you have a bad IAT sensor and it needs to be replaced. It's mounted on the MAF. I know you said you got a new on, but it must be bad or defective. I think you need a new MAF and IAT sensor. (I'm not sure they are sold as one unit or seperately.) Or you have a short somewhere in the wireing. The IAT sensor reads the intake air temp.If it's reading that it's super hot then it's retarding the timing and changing the air fuel ratio which is why the car is running bad. If there is a way for you to test the IAT, I can send you the file on how to do it, so you can isolate wether it's the sensor or the wiring/connections.
