  1. Thanks Alan. I'll try it here soon.
  2. Whenever my antenna goes to raise up, it makes an annoying squeaking sound. I'm guessing this is b/c of a lack of lube. What can I use and how should I apply it? I was thinking of WD40, but isn't that a solvent? I don't want that on the paint. Would a good grease work? Thanks.
  3. It is not a high screatching, just a low pitched 'hum-hum-hum.' It did it today during acceleration as well. I suppose it could be a tire. I had them rotated about two months ago, but this thing has only started in the past few weeks. I posted earlier about the plastic housings descending, could this be a result of rubbing between the wheel and the plastic housings? I'll have to go take a look in awhile.
  4. I hear a hum-hum-hum noise at low speeds whenever I'm decelerating. It seems to be coming from the front left wheel. It is just at pronounced when I'm braking. I'm pretty sure its not the CV boots, as I've checked them before and they're fine. Any ideas?
  5. I'm not sure now to explain this, but I think the plastic coverings (housings?) under my front end are coming loose. They are starting to hang down. They're not coming off, but I don't like what it is starting to look like. Is there anyway to get them back into place. It kind of looks trashy to have that stuff hanging out from underneath, know what I mean? Thanks for any help.
  6. I agree with everyone else. Silverstars are the way to go. Good luck.
  7. How much would a new amp cost to fix or replace?
  8. What should I do to find out? How do I get it tested?
  9. Hey guys, last night I was driving around with friends and discovered that my rear speakers don't work. They made some comment about there being no sound in the back, and when I turned the fader all the way to the back, there was just silence. What can I do? Could it possibly (hopefully) be a fuse or something? Will I have to replace the speakers? Thanks for any help.
  10. These are my brake rotors. They are SP Performance, Drilled and Slotted. My pads in front are Hawk and the pads in rear are Remsa Gold. Overall, I would say they've been great. The only thing that annoys me is that they rust wherever the pads do not touch. But other than that, they are great.
  11. How can you tell if you have metallic or dyed film? Mine is from 3M, but thats all I know. And from the looks of it, its gray in color up close, FWIW. Thanks.
  12. Lol, yeah, the title is funny. I'm a 20 year old male, and around my school (U of A, Fayetteville, AR) both men and women own ESs. In my particular (all male) dorm, there are two other ES owners. Don't feel weird owning one. If people think of you in a lesser fashion because of what car you drive, you might as well not know them in the first place. I loved the comment about crossing over. I don't think its a very serious event when someone goes from a German car to a Japanese car. Not nearly as serious as say, "going over to the other team." ;)
  13. What year is your car, hern? If it is 92-96, you can go to autozone (even walmart) and find the correct bulbs. The lows take the 9006 bulb. The highs take the 9005 bulb. Thats all there is to it! Installation is a breeze too. Good luck.
  14. Thank God you're alright, Steve. Did he at least have insurance? What did his car look like? Sorry about what happened. Again, at least you are ok.
  15. The Toyo Proxes TPT is a 65k mile tire. What are the Michelins & Continentals?
  16. I like them. Keep in mind that I don't have much to compare them to. They seem to be pretty quiet and hold the road well. I would recommend them to anyone. Do you like yours? I think I'll wait till 10k miles to have them 'switched.' :)
  17. Yeah, I've had no problems with my Toyo Proxes TPTs.
  18. Well, after reading this thread, I feel much better about my tires. I have the Toyo Proxes TPTs, but they came new with car. I guess the guy I bought them from (a salesman at a Lexus dealership) knew what he was doing. What is the recommended rotation for them? I've got maybe 8k miles on them right now. Thanks.
  19. I think its ok. I like the wheels. I agree that the color makes the car look dirty. In looking at them, I was wondering "when are they going to show it clean."
  20. And here is another of the highs. They are great bulbs. I would recommend them to anyone.
  21. Here are a few pics of my Silverstar highs and lows that I took a few hours ago. Enjoy. These are just the lows.
  22. Wow. Those are really nice bulbs. Post a pic of your ground effects, would you? B)
