  1. I am not so sure that mold is mold in all cases. Mold that forms on stale food for example generally does not make a person deathly ill nor give them myasthinia gravis. Tom
  2. I would suggest measuring the eyebolt diameter and thread and shopping online for metric eyebolts. I don't think strength is a big issue if you are only tying down a kayak. Tom
  3. Ditto about pre-calling your dealer. Mine indicated that the recall parts are ordered specifically for each vehicle by VIN number. Tom
  4. I don't have that problem. Mine is very repeatable although it will pick up some speed on a long downhill. Tom
  5. Are you talking engine air filter or cabin air filter here? Tom
  6. Bob, the reset procedure is also in the Owner's Manaul, but the page varies depending on the year of your RX. Tom
  7. I do not think that is normal. Mine has never blacked out either. Tom
  8. Hi Dennis. Thanks for the interesting information. I suppose that many such products are now being made in China where polution takes a back seat to production. Tom
  9. The fasteners do come out pretty easily with flat-nose pliers. If you lube them with silicone grease they will come out by hand the next time. Tom
  10. This make me wonder what rail dust does to a person's lungs who lives near RR tracks or a foundry, etc. Tom
  11. That would be handy for many here. Can you post them for everyone? Tom
  12. Welcome to our little group. You have purchased a great vehicle. Tom in Arizona
  13. Betcha $1000 that WWest has returned as a grandson. Tom
  14. That's an interesting scenario for sure. My gut feel is that the long trips would be more than adequate to evaporate any moisture from your oil. But what effect that moisture does to your engine between the bi-monthly runs is a more difficult question to answer. Tom
  15. The nav disks show up on ebay regularly--some OEM and some bootleg. Tom
  16. Well, then how are ya gonna do a burnout in grandpa's hybrid? Tom
  17. I am approaching 20,000 miles in my RX400h and plan to switch from premium to regular fuel for a 5000 miles comparison. Tom
  18. WWest got a swift kick outta here a year or so back. It is rumored that he landed in a mental hospital in Serbia. Tom
  19. Try: Greenfield Toyota (413) 772-0231 ask for Troy
  20. I had my recall repair this week and it seems to me that the steering feels a bit more precise. Any similar observations from others? Tom
  21. Rey, I too have an appointment for the recall matter. I will note any odd sounds as I drive home and head back if I hear same. Sounds like the dealer messed up. Tom
  22. Do we have to choose? You don't post for 21 months, and now this is the best you can come up with? Pretty lame. Tom
  23. Legacy, I only check my MPG by recording the data and maintaining it in an Excel spreadsheet. The onboard computer seems optimistic. I have noticed that with moderate hypermiling (cruise control, anticipating slowdowns/stops, etc.) I can increase my mileage about 10 MPG--typically from 25-26 to 35-36. Unfortunately I get power hungry too often and end up in the mid 20s. Tom
