  1. Wow, neat additions to my original post...I like the radio and Nav ideas...I will try it. Rey in LA
  2. I currently have a 2006 400h and am considering the 2010-13 RX350. I have really enjoyed driving the 350 the two times that I have gotten one as a loaner while my 400h gets its regular service. I do know that I will miss the 25mpg that I get pretty much every tank since I have owned it the past 7 years....the 350 is listed at 18/25...but I need to know the REAL numbers. Please respond....it will help to know in what state/climate that you live. I am in LA so I have nice climate year round. Rey in LA
  3. I got mine at a hobby shop...no name, just got the only blue they had. I have seen packs of different color acetate at art stores as well or even using spot light gels....it's really nice. I don't have the time nor ability to do the work that cdluk so this is a great five minute mod...I am clever if nothing else....it's the simplest ideas that are the brilliant ones. It's also about a $3. mod! I have the price written somewhere on this post.....Rey
  4. Thanks Thomas, That's good to know...you know, I love the 24+ that I get from my 400h...but I have been given a 2010 RX350 twice as a loaner and there is something that I really like about the "traditional" drive system. The two gallon larger tank helps to get me almost as far on one tank...I don't know, will have to see how much the dealership will give me for a trade in. I am giving myself a few months to gather info...no hurry. My car still looks fabulous and runs great...I just get that "New car fever" every once in a while. Rey in sunny LA
  5. I really like the 2013 RXs....but can anyone tell me the differences in driving feel, MPGs or anything else that one might need to know in regards to AWD or FWD. I have a 2006 400h FWD but have never driven one that was AWD...what are the pros/cons. Any input is appreciated. Rey in Sunny LA
  6. The dealership once again asked me how I did the blue gauges...it is always so fun to show them how it takes a minute to do and looks so nice.
  7. You can see my Thundercloud grille on the post about the grille and Harrier emblem. I think it is such a beautiful grille and even now, two years later, I get compliments on my car, the grille, the bumper lip, etc.
  8. This is it by itself....inside dimension/back 3 1/16th" X 4 3/8" , that is the back where it fits into the grille...if you measure from the outside the emblem is: 3 1/2" X 5 1/4. The 400h is larger. Rey
  9. "Justicepool"...here are pics of my Harrier Grille and emblem...I have since taken off the emblem but still have it for anyone that might want it. It is really sharp...chrome w gold "Hawk". The Thundercloud grille is quite stunning...the horizontal lines and chrome really set it off...I just did NOT realize that the emblem is a different size from the 400h emblem....the TC grille is 330 or 350...not 400h. Rey
  10. I have a harrier emblem that I can sell if you'd like...if this is not OK in this forum, my apologies , but I'd let it go for a VERY good "Lexus Owners Club Forum" price! The grille is actually from a "Thundercloud" so the emblem is smaller than the 400h emblem..so be aware of that....if you can get the grille WITH the emblem,no problem, otherwise you'll have to get one that fits. I LOVE the chrome TC grille. I am in LA and I get a lot of comments on my car. Rey
  11. I got mine (06) in January of 06...not one problem. It has been the most reliable car that I have ever owned. I do like the look of the upcoming 2013 though...but it's hard to think about changing cars when this one is so solid, still great....anyway, congrats! Rey in sunny LA
  12. I had some work done on my 2006 rx 400h. When I got my car back I was happy with the repair, etc...but the next day when I went to get a "previous" address on my GPS I found that my 97 addresses were all gone. I was later told that they upgraded the GPS...but why would no one tell the owner that they would lose everything in the saved section on my GPS? Anyone else experience this? I mean this dealership has been great and I always get a great loaner etc....even with the solder recall they not only fixed the problem but filled my tank,as usual washed my car, and I had a bag of gifts on my passenger seat.......anyway, that is why I am surprised at this....seems out of character.....Any help/thoughts... would be appreciated. Rey in LA
  13. I personally love the front bumper lip that I put on ( see, under the bumper?) ...to each his own...I didn't like the roof rack so took that off. I also liked the nerf bars along the side...lots of extra chrome. "HYBRID" emblems from Ford....I LOVE my Thundercloud chrome grill with the horizontal bars and the chrome headlight and taillight trim...side chrome trim....(you can see my Thundercloud grill in my avatar as well as "cduluk"'s). I found it on eBay. cduluk also added the blue "L" which I opted not to do...but the grill is fabulous!
  14. Well, I bought my 06 in Jan 06, I have 65K miles on it, SoCal driving...not too hard on my car...it's had a sweet life....but I have not had one issue with it. It has been so reliable that I just do not worry like any other car that I have had for the same amount of time and miles. At the same time, depending on the prices (you can mention them to us, we can keep a secret!) 70K isn't a lot for this car. You should wait to get few more responses...I have learned a lot from the nice people on this forum. Rey in LA OH, I bought the wooden steering wheel and it is great....so I do agree...I put some of the plastic wood trim here and there and everyone thinks it's original....just don't overdo that...but the steering wheel was easy. I found it on eBay for about $200 and my mechanic put it on for $40 and then I sold the leather one for $250. Just my two cents....Oh, and as you can see, I had the front end customized and I have the Thundercloud chome, horizontal grille....my car STILL looks and smells brand new! Really I finally changed my avatar to show the Thundercloud Grille, (horizontal chrome bars)...I love this grille!
  15. That's almost 100,000 miles...I think....wow, that's a lot of miles...I am glad to hear this...I want to keep my 2006 as long as possible. Rey
  16. How is it better? I would like to upgrade but I need to know that it is better and how and that it is as easy to install as loading a music CD. Rey
  17. After 5.5 years.....in the 24- 25mpg range. I live in SoCal...warm year round...the best that I ever got on one tank was 27.1. I love this car. I had to drive a rental once for about a month, a Ford Edge...not bad...but when I got back into my 06 400H...it felt so,so much better. Even the 330 and the 350 don't feel as nice...I don't believe the 330 nor 350 have the CVT trans. That makes a HUGE difference. I did not GET the post about driving like a "Truck"...I thought it was the other way around...anyway......I get about 25 MPG...NEVER has one tank been under 22 and never over 28 in my experience. Oh, I could not get the Ford Edge over 18MPG. ...now , the Edge, that felt more "truck like"...but it looks great and wasn't bad. The inside looked cheap like a toy...Rey in LA
  18. I live in the LA area...it's nice year round...so the Paradas are perfect for me. So far it's been a really nice tire. So smooth and quiet. Rey in LA
  19. The drawing that I did was from a G37 but the commercial looks like they'll have several models...they had an SUV in the film studio and I was working with photos of a G37 sedan. It was a seven day shoot and I was only there one full day so it's impossible to tell what all will be in a 30 second commercial. I did have a nice dressing room with my own private bathroom and an assistant...it was really nice. I hope they don't edit me out! I've done a few storyboards for commercials and drawings for movies and such but I have never been asked to be IN anything before! Rey in LA..............LA, where everyone at some point gets their "Andy Warhol 15 minutes"!
  20. I've never had that range thingy so I can't miss what I never had. I saw it on a few loaners that I have driven though...ES330 and 350s... I think even the new RX450 that I got last time I took my car in for service had it... Anyway, with every car that I have had I just find out at that time what that car's range is.....but if I drive to the point where the little light goes on on my 2006 RX400h, if I am at around 360 total miles for that tank, I know that I did good and if I had to can go to 400. I get great mileage when I use more of the LA freeways....all the traffic can get me to get 30MPG for that day(like today). But I smartly, even though I paid the premium, live close to where I work to avoid getting on LA freeways to get to work. It is ridiculous here...I don't know how people stay sane commuting to work here. By the way, look for me in an INFINITY commercial this summer...I'll be the guy drawing the car....really fast! The commercial also has "Albert Einstein" in it...hopefully my moment won't be edited out! Rey
  21. Strange. I have a 2006 400h without navigation, and it does not show the range left (though I really wish it did). After 5 1/2 years,I go between 360-400 miles before filling up again. I get around 24-26 MPG. Rey in LA
  22. Great idea LENORE, I just used silicone glue and it was easily sealed. Like I said before, the leak as it turned out happened after the side rear windows were taken off when my car was repainted. It was tough trying to find out where the water was coming in from and I figured it was from the roof...but it wasn't. Rey
  23. Great point...It turned out that the leak I was getting was from the small corner windows from when I had the car repainted due to the acid thrown on it a few years back. The top slots were fine. I finally got the pieces that actually fit on there. I still LOVE the car without the roof rack. Rey
