  1. Not bad! Just hit 72170 miles had to replace 4 tires 205 60 R16 91V rating (Hankook H148) Installed and balance out the door (Total cost 325.00) 2000 ES300
  2. my 2000 es300 did the same at 99,000 miles after an oil change. Lexus finally gave me a new engine. Engine Change for Free? I am the second owner, do I qualify for an engine replacement too?
  3. With the engine running you lift up the hood and have someone hold the brake pedal down and you shift into drive, have them step on the gas. If the engine lifts up significantly chances are your lower motor mounts are bad. Godfather this is the best suggestion from Butch003. Good tip! Lexlogic
  4. R.Holmes is right! Starting in the morning was not a problem but restarting after going to the store for 30 mins. had to step on the gas pedal to get it going. Not only I follow R.Holmes direction but cleaned my throtle body too. Then added Seafoam in my fuel tank as recommended. Thanks save me alot!
  5. Chilton is college level, unlike Hayes (high school level) easy to understand for anyone in a small town of AZ. it has alot of pictures.
  6. Under warranty? Take it back to that repair shop, abnormal jerk occur from reverse to drive gear should not happen unless idle is too high.
  7. Toysrme is right. Clean also your throtle body and add seafoam in fuel tank as recommended. Don't forget to check air filter that affects MAF. I hope it isn't stuck injector (that's a shame)!

  11. Thanks for your input. My original problem was I bought new tires and the ride was terrible above 70 MPH. Dealer told me that I needed struts so we replaced them. Still had the same problem as with the oem struts. After a couple more rebalanceing of the tires, problem was solved and the ride was like gliding on air. This was the same ride that I had before changing the struts. A friend of mine has a '97 with about the same mileage and his Lexus does not have the swishing sound that the monroes have. He still has the oem struts. I have an appointment with the installer to replace the monroe's with a set of new ones. Hope this solves the problem. Ps: I can put up with a little swishing but not this loud. I replaced the OEM's with Monroe Sensatrac front end. Went over bumps no loud sound with my car. Lifetime warranty shocks change them again, hope you do the work? In two more weeks, I will be replacing the rear shocks ( alot of work back there) have to remove the seats! I hope it isn't the forward or rear engine mounts? My lower ball joint went bad cost $48.00 each with warranty. Let us know if you fix the problem.

  14. removed the carpet on the right side of the gas pedal like the direction. you will see a plastic cover with two latchs. Remove the cover and slide out the filters (2) one on top of the other. the plastic cover is either white or gray in color. Take your time when searching for this cover. It's you first time, you will see it. Good hunting!
  15. He's probably still in jail. LOL Ok so he mignt be?? Let get back to the starting problem, my next door 1999 ES300 is doing the same thing. After riding with them and made stops at two different stores. Try starting the car after sitting for 15 mins. it will start for 2 seconds and dies immediately. Anyone out there as a solution to the problem?
  16. If you are facing your raised hood it should be on the left hand side of car near the front of vehicle right behind the headlight. Guys please stop! We got the picture, I would be upset if I'm missing a windshield washer fluid tank. I did not know there were two different type containers. I learning a lot here!
  17. Oh Man! Here we go again, having a 2000 ES300 with 71000 miles, 7 yrs old, I'm opening the TB shoud cover to inspect for crack or damage or leakage if any. Rather be on the safe side! Just got a master key made here at a local Locksmith cost $ 430.00 (never had a master key when bought May of last year, I'm da second owner) cheaper then the dealer $600-1,400.00
