  1. - its normal to easily stop the fan blades (with a finger) when engine running ....... minimal resistance . There are tests but they are not simple. 1. cooling fan ECU -under glovebox 2.coolant temp sensor(inlet, pass. side motor) 3.solenoid valve(rear of power steering pump) I would find someone who knows how to check these ,starting with the ones in the engine compartment first. Why do you think there is a problem with the fan? I replaced the radiator, both hoses, thermostat, cap, but it doesnt over heat all the time, so I figure its not the water pump, whats left?
  2. I think I have a cooling fan problem. but I dont know how to trouble shoot it! My cooling fan is driven by my power steering fluid! Yet when not running I can spin the fan with no resiance! When running, I can bring the fan to a stop with my finger! Is this the motors problem, or does the fan have a fan clutch built into it??
  3. I need to work on my 94 Lexus ES 300, I just moved from Phx. Az. to a small town in the mountians! I need a repair manual but the thing that has always ticked me off about manuals is where I get to the part where it tells me to referr to a quilified service tech! If I was going to do that, I wouldn't be trying to fix it myself!! Some manuals do and some don't! But now in a small town I don't have the luxery of looking at it first, I must buy it first! Can enyone recomend a good manuel for me to buy??
  4. This photo "I hope" should show the temp and gas needles not working while the speed and tach are!
  5. I understand that it is a problem with the solder, Is this on the back of the cluster, or inside the cluster itself? And if so, do I have to worry about blowing the whole thing by trying to repair it???
  6. No I worked for a used car dealer ship in Pheonix Az. But I got ran over two and a haff years ago, so I'm looking for a new type of work now! Thank you for the info, I'll post a photo Today!!
