You're always safer going by the severe service or 5000 mile intervals. In fact, I don't even usually go that long for oil changes.

Then why does my dealer insist I come in ever 3,000 miles, and even sets my service indicator for that??

I took my car in a few months ago and complained about the recirc not working right. The outside smells are coming into my car. The service tech didn't understand me, apparently, and said nothing was found. So as I'm driving my loaner car back today (car went in for oil change, and thought I'd try this again with the recirc button), I'm about a block away, and I get a phone call that my car won't be ready until Thursday night or Friday because it's all apart. Apparently they found the problem, which was the little door inside that's supposed to keep everything out, was broken. Aha!! So I'm not crazy.......

Just thought I'd pass along the info in case anybody else has the same problem happening...

And I'll have you know that since my recirc is now working, I have more rattling in my dash.....I know, I'm just never happy..........

The 250 makes the same sound. Yes it is due to the direct fuel injection systems

I've never heard this, but I haven't had my hood open while the engine is running. I'm usually driving it!! Oh, and I have a 250.......

Hi, has anyone found stock is250 rims with a lip? I have the 18'' rims with summer tires and would like to swap out the back rims for ones with some sort of lip maybe 1inch, i love the look that the bmw have with this look :D . But of course i love my car and the bmw had no chance of taking me as a buyer with the sexy new IS out. Plus the service at BMW is the worst i have ever seen. If anyones in South Florida and looking for a Lexus I think JM Lexus is the best dealer i've ever been to.

The first 4 years are free.

I can answer that one. If you have a used BMW, one before 2006, service is not included. It's only the new ones that include the first 30,000 miles or whatever free. My car, towards the end, was costing me $1,500 every time I went in. First it was the back brakes. Then it was the front brakes. Then I needed to change my belts. I drive way too much, and I do the 3,000-mile oil change about every 2 months, so I didn't want to be paying $1,500 each time I went in..........service wasn't cruddy, just didn't like how often I had to PAY for it!! ;)

I went to the dealer and asked to, the guy said it's actually not an option on the IS because if you leave the key in the car the car will unlock itself so you don't lock your keys in the car (it works I've tried it...With the spare around lol) and plus I haven't seen it advertised on the Lexus website where they tell all about the IS, but at least we still have that cool little button on the handle :D

Just to let y'all know, I accidentally left my key in the trunk, in my purse, and closed it. The car beeped at me and didn't lock. A great feature, I must say. And, boy, did I feel dumb!!!!

I had the XM Satellite radio installed by the dealer on my IS250. I'm very pleased with it. The antenna was mounted under the rear deck so there is no visible antenna anywhere on the car. I also got three months free subscription. Cost is about $12.00 per month after that. With your subscription you also get access to XM radio on-line so you can listen to it using your PC when you are not in the car.

Unless you're buying used, where are you going to get a BMW 325ix for $32,000 fully loaded?? Or are you talking about adding the options? Even adding them is going to put you up to $40k. I found my IS250 to have a lot more options than my 325i, but I did get a good deal on my used 325i when I bought it used. And the used Beemers have the 100,000 certified warranty on them if you buy them from the dealer. I still like my Lexus better, I think, however. I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but just wanted to stick my 2 cents in there, lol.

this probably wont help you, but im just curious as to why the IS seems to have so many "special orders" and packages that they dont necessarily have. For my Rx330, i had to wait a week because it was already on a boat coming over, it had everything i wanted. Lexus seemed to have produced every possible combination out there and let me choose it, either that or i have a very generic human mind. I have never had to wait for a car i wanted, that is why i am so surprised as to why they arent getting more vehicals out here

I tried removing the "IS 250", and did find out the hard way. Luckily, I was able to put the "S" back on, but the "I" had the tape removed from it. So I went around for a while with "S 250" on the car until I went to the dealer and had them put it back on......

There's a separate knob for opening and closing. The slats themselves are only for directing the flow.

I realized that once I got into the car after my last post!

I love my IS 250, but the seats are so uncomfortable; they kill my back, no matter what adjustment I make to them. Anyone else have this problem?

Nope. I think it's a lot more comfy than my BMW was. Do you have a sport package?? Mine's got a luxury package. Maybe that's a difference??

I cannot close the center air vents completely. The knobs don't turn all the way down to close the vents, they stop halfway, so air keeps blowing through. Other vents close fine. Is this normal?

One thing I like about the IS colors is that some of them almost seem to change color in different lights.

The Matador Red Mica looked great in the showroom, but really came to life when the pulled it out into the sun. It was a whole different shade of Red.

I'm still waiting to see a Breakwater Blue Metalic in person, since that seems to offer both Silver and Blue in one color.

Well, on my way home last night (still sunny), I saw a new IS.

It was Glacier Frost Mica.

It was coming right at me in the sunlight and it immediately caught my eye, as all IS's do.

As it was coming at me, it really intrigued me. It was like a creamy, very shiny Silver, with a touch of light Blue.

It drove past me and since we were in traffic, I got to see it in my mirror as well.

As it entered a shady section of road... I'm tellin ya, that friggen car turned Pink.

Is this useful in stop-and-go traffic? I mean could you put it in 2nd gear and leave it like this so it won't keep shifting between gears as you slow down or pick up speed

It can be. I just kept forgetting to shift up, since I don't have the shift knob like a manual car.....

You can shift up and down by pushing the shift lever forward and back.

I could do that too, if only I remembered!!! lol.

What year was the E55?

It was a 2005. We were having problems with it, actually. The first one was all four tires, the sidewalls split. Mercedes replaced them, all while messing up our rims, then refused to fix that. The A/C was faulty. Now there's a recall on the brakes failing, which my husband already experienced. It was time to get rid of it.

The dealer didn't have the IS350, and I didn't know about it at the same. We bought it the first weekend it came out, and I was desperate to get rid of my BMW!

If you're asking me, it was about the same as the Lambo, actually. About $180-. No reductions off MSRP. It's a new car this year, and selling very well. I don't know the payments. It's my husband's car, so he takes care of that.
