  1. On your wife's 250? Why would you need to do this, is there a problem?
  2. I would like to know that too. Also if anyone has installed the '07 TRAC off switch?!
  3. Thanks, good thread. But it didn't tell me how to turn off the DRL's. Anyone have an idea how I can do this? The dealer is the only one who can turn off the DRLs. You may get some resistance because it maybe the law in your state or they just don't know how to do it. Many have done it over in the CL forums.
  4. I like, now get yourself a set of Eibach Pro Springs and lower that ride :)
  5. There are two cup holders in the center console in the IS. The back seats are actually not cramped if you, raise the seat bottom of the front seats and are under five ten.
  6. OK, I'll bite. The IS350 is plenty fast for most of us with some guys doing 13.3 to 13.6 in the quater mile STOCK! If your main criteria for a car purchase is a 6 speed manual, connected to the road handling and BMW free initial service, then buy the 335i. However, there has already been one 335i with a blown engine with less than 400 miles on it. First BMW twin turbo motor in God knows how long, in a first gen release,...get where I'm coming from?! Lexus forcuses on driver comfort, style and reliability for the day to day driver. So, go out and driver both cars in the situation you will be using it and choose for yourself.
  7. Scott_M, Buy the 350!! Do it! I drove FWDs and AWDs in Canadian winters and never thought about RWDs,...until the IS350. Buy youself a second set of wheels, TPMS and winter tires and you'll be good to go. If it snows so bad that you can not get out, then you shouldn't be on the road anyway. You won't regret it :)
  8. This is not normal, actually that's pretty bad! Some guys had their door panles removed but I did not have mine removed by the company that did mine and they did an excellent job! Take it back and have them redo it or get a refund.
  9. Yes, I'm sure they are self leveling too, Xenons and HID words are used to describe the same type of lighting system.
  10. I think the only factory LED lights are the "reading lights" (front and rear) and the courtesy lights in the footwells and near the center dome light (they create a faint blue/white glow at night. I think the ugly dome light that fades in and out when you open/close the door is an incandescent bulb. I think the door lights (on the driver and passenger doors) are also incandescent bulbs (the red ones near the corner of the door that come on when you open the door). I wanted to get the clear plastic covers (replace the red plastic covers) but I don't know if they are direct fit from the IS 300. Have you heard of any performance mods for the IS 350? - Gianni Not sure if LEDs will work properly in the dome light as they are dimmers. There are short ram intakes from LMS, FRAM and FUJI,.,., replacement induction duct from JOEZ, complete exhaust from LMS, or axle backs from TANABE, HKS(soon) and others, LMS is working on a supercharger, that's about it for now,...engine wise.
  11. The HIDs are self leveling, produce a brighter more intense light pattern with a very sharp cut off. For TX weather I would get the perforated seats.
  12. Sounds like warper rotors... I know they were all replaced and new pads were installed, but you didn't mention anything about proper torque application to the lug nuts. You can warp brand new rotors in no time at all if the wheel lugs are not properly torqued. ;) If your wheels have been properly torqued to spec, I would then check ball joints and steering rod ends, shocks.
  13. If it's more like a groan on release it's probably the pads and the dealer should just install new pads to see if that fixes the problem, it's not very expensive for them. Lexus uses environmentally friendly paint so it may appear softer than older paints. Install a clear bra to reduce stone chips. I covered my entire bumper, all lights, wing mirrors and 1st twelve inches of hood.
  14. Have you tried tirerack.com to see if the ship to Barbados?
  15. From a Honda Civic hybrid to an IS350,...now that's a BIG JUMP!
  16. Actually there is a menu item in the NAV menu for recalibrating the GPS, i.e. your position.
  17. If you can configure it at lexus.com then it can be done.
  18. 4 is the default up shift selection. It wil automatically shift up to 4 unless you change it to another gear. If you select 1 then you will have full manual control, if you select 6 then it will shift automatically to 6. Check out your owner's manual.
  19. I also have the NAV package and my steering wheel retracts and moves out of the way when the car is off!
  20. I have an IS350 with dedicated 18" wheels and and Pirelli Snowsport Winter tires and live in Canada. I drove 20Km to work and back and everywhere I wanted to go all of last winter with absolutely no problems. I preferred normal mode to snow mode, because sometimes a little wheel spin was better than killing the power to the rear wheels. With the standard summer tires the car would not even make it up the drive way.
  21. You need to turn down your instrument lighting,...don't run it at full brightness.
