  1. Sorry guys, I swear it is the best plastic looking wood I've ever seen, you're right according to this they use Canadian wood too, and to think that I'm Canadian and wouldn't know this. Again my apologies for the bad info. http://www.worldcarfans.com/news.cfm/newsI...xus-is-in-depth
  2. Sorry to burst your bubble guys but it looks like it's plastic. I just swapped out my ashtray for the JDM optional one.
  3. If you're an audio nut like you say,..get the ML audio, it's that good.
  4. You can purchase after market ones online.
  5. It's called a break in period and on the IS350 it's a little over 600 miles. Basically don't drive at a steady speed, don't use cruise control, don't do panic stops or burn rubber for the first 600 miles. Otherwise, drive it like you want it to last.
  6. I would say it would be extremely expensive if not impossible to do. NAV usually comes with ML audio unless special order, so you would have to change the entire centre dash, plus harness if not installed and sat antenna! Definitely worth the extra to have full NAV and ML,...good luck.
  7. 1. No, not yet :) 2. There is an option in the setup menu that prevents the screen from switching back to the NAV screen.
  8. Don't have the link handy but there is a JDM remote starter for the IS350/250. Try the Clublexus forum and look up JDM parts.
  9. The "hardness or softness" of the down shifts depends on how you drive the car in my experience. If the car's computer senses that you are driving agressively it will shift harder especially in power mode. I'm sure that Lexus did this in the first release of the IS350/250 for reliability reasons, who knows what they will change in the next release. Even a good manual transmission in the wrong hands can be shifted badly :)
  10. Holy smoke you can drive at 15 in Ohio?! Is there graduated driving there as in Canada as well or once you have your permit that's it?
  11. So I've been told, will find out soon when the first 1600 Km service is due!
  12. I spoke with the Lexus dealership owner today and the matter has been resolved. My Toyotya dealer can lease any car you want, they do it to keep their customers, I guess in the hope you'll come back to them. Same with Lexus dealers here. Unfortunately he deals with another dealer out of our area.
  13. Just wanted to post my experience with a Lexus salesman I had in Canada. I have leased nine Toyotas over the last seven years and have had excellent service from them. But this time I decided to try something new and test drove the Subaru Legacy GT Limited and Volvo S40 as I'm an AWD convert and have been driving AWDs for several years. The Subaru GT was my choice, but...I attended the Lexus unveiling and fell in love with the IS350. I know it's not AWD, but what a car. Anyway I test drove an IS250 AWD on Monday night this week to see if it would fit me and was prepared to purchase from the Lexus dealership, when my Toyota sales guy said that he could get the Lexus and give me a better deal and keep me as a customer. So I get a phone call from the Lexus salesman (I won’t mention his name) today who tagged along for my test drive (unlike the other dealers I had been to) and was basically told what a bad person I was for taking away food from his family by staying with the Toyota dealership I have been with all these years and not purchasing the car from him! And that if I take a test drive from a dealership/sales person I am obligated to buy the car from them. WOW! Next up was Lee at Subaru in Mississauga who called to see if I’d made a decision. I returned his call and we had a very pleasant conversation and told him that I would definitely keep him in mind if I were looking for another car. Was I wrong to stay with my Toyota dealer, we have three Toyotas leased from them, I know the owner, sales manager and all the service guys on a first name basis. I don’t believe I made the wrong choice based on my experience with the Lexus salesman!
  14. The ML audio system is a 7.1 system with DTS, DVD Audio and CD audio capability if my information is correct. It would be a great benefit in terms of sound quality to be able to play DTS and DVD Audio discs in such a quiet car as the IS350.
