  1. Usually, most Lexus dealers are pretty good about the delivery process. Just look thru the numbers and the paperwork and look for scratch, and make sure you get your wallet key.
  2. $36000 for a 5 year old car, you are kidding right? You can get a new GX with nav for $10000 more.
  3. Did you try adjusting the dimmer setting for the dash?
  4. Lexus dont make that many sport package period. You may need to special order it.
  5. If your GX470 have a metal tire valve stem and a metal cap, then you have TPMS. If the valve stem is rubber, you do not. If I remember right, Lexus start putting in TPMS on the GX on 2004.
  6. The Michelin X-Terrains are great tires, the Bridgestone is not too bad, but not as good as X-Terrain. The Dunlops are horrible, stay alway from those. Some people have manage to get the dealer to switch to Michelin for a cost, but most dealer dont want to deal with swaping tires. Not sure about the NY area, but here in Boston, almost all 07 are selling at invoice and the 08s are about a $1000 over invoice. I am sure if you wait till the 07s are gone, the price of the 08 will drop.
  7. Here is the spec on the 08 GX470: http://pressroom.toyota.com/presstxt/2008l...008GX470_sf.pdf
  8. Simeone else tried that on another forum, the LED buld was not quite as bright as the factory one.
  9. In fact, there are TSB from Lexus to fix these problem, but some TSBs are not available for the 4runner.
  10. 08 changes: Chrome exterior door handles, chrome speaker grill, chrome roof rack, $1000 off the 3rd seat option, brown walnut wood trim, liquid graphite rims and cleared rear signal lights. Thats all I can think of, I might have miss a few things, but overall, no major changes.
  11. I guess everybody hear diff. things, because I have never heard any hissing sound from the brakes.
  12. Trying to make a profit flipping a car is not worth the trouble.
  13. I find the Mercedes and Volvo seats are some of the most comfortable seats in the industry, but then, I have no complains about the seats in the GX.
  14. Its the same here in MA, 80% of the GX is driven by men and 95% of the RX is driven by women. I am not sure about New Jersey, they are out there on their own planet :)
  15. You can get to them from the top, you will have to take off the engine bay covers. The fog you will need to gain access from under the car.
  16. I think I see a star.
  17. Your husband does realize that the LX cost $20000 more, so a more comfortable seat is one of the benefit for that extra $20000. :)
  18. Yeah I am starting to see that around here too. As the RX become way too common, a lot of females are starting to buy the GX.
  19. Like you said, the altimeter is based on barometric pressure, so its not accurate. Barometric pressure can change as weather front moves thru or when you are going from on city to another. The altimeter is useful say if you are going up a mountain, you can see how high you have gone up. For a accurate altimeter reading, I would use a GPS.
  20. Use a micro fiber cleaning cloth to clean the nav screen, never use household cleaner on it. Some of those stick-on screen protectors may interfare with the Nav's touch screen function, can anyone here add more to that?
  21. It should display the data, must be a setting you are not aware of.
  22. Here is one for 25 dollars: http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=844
  23. Xenondepot makes a very good kit and their customer service is excellent.
  24. Most of those blue tinted bulbs, especially the cheap ones from ebay, does nothing but throw out a weaker and whiter light. Some tinted bulbs actually put out a bit more light than the factory bulbs, such as silverstar ultra or Hoens, but they all have a very short life compare to the OEM bulbs. Where as a HID bulb will put out 3 times as much light as the OEM bulb while using half of the power and a longer life.
  25. First of all, did you buy a real HID bulb or one of those blue tinted bulb. The blue on you can just plug right in but a real HID will require wiring in relays, ballast and a ignitor.
