There is no alternator in a PHEV. It is a hybrid, where you can charge the extra large high voltage battery home via a plug-in. Hybrid cars have no alternator. Like I mentioned before - the 12V battery starts the computer that then power up the big battery. The car can run on the big battery till there is too little power left in that and then the vary ordinary engine running on gasoline starts to charge the battery and power the wheels. Call your Lexus where you bought the car and tell them to help. A new car should have some service free of charge.

A 3 month old car is warranted. Suppose you mean NX and not Nh. 12V battery powers up the computer that power up the high voltage battery that start everything else. 12V battery is rather tiny and if car stand still a long time, the battery lose power. The little CT we have is a 2017 model and 12V battery is still just fine. Charge the 12V battery and it should start everything else again. But do mention it to the dealer as a brand new car should have a brand new battery that keeps charge well.

I am not counting gallons and miles, but whoever say that Lexus and Toyota are optimistic in their ads when telling that fuel economy is excellent. Most other companies are doing likewise. The little CT we have was adverticed with a fantastic fuel economy. 3.8L/100km Reality after several years of refilling the tank is quite a lot different 6.7L/100km Lexus service personnel say it is normal. Nothing wrong with the car, hybrid battery is controlled yearly. Compared to the VW Golf 2.0tdi DSG it is not as expected cheaper to drive as the diesel was using 5L/100km and diesel is cheaper. Same driver – same driving style – same area. I think that the extra battery in the car is not getting better fuel economy out of the car, just making the car consumes tyres a bit more than if the extra (hybrid) battery was not in it.

If you really want to know what is not to like about it: I would like a car that drives without polluting. I do not at all mind if it is powered with a battery as long as it is not made in a factory in China using slaves and where the power to the factory come from burning coal. It would also be needed that the materials to make the battery can be obtained without destroying the planet searching for the materials. There should not be any need for transporting hydrogen long distance as all needed to make it is water and electricity. Mid size plants could supply a gas station with 2 or 3 filling points. A favourable place to make hydrogen would be near coasts where water is abundant and electricity could be made from waves and tide. Would like a Corolla sized hydrogen car, here parking places on streets are made in Fiat 500 size. Do not expect Lexus cars are still made when hydrogen will be available. That could be one of the reasons they have postponed to 2026. The more power you want an engine to deliver the more fuel it will need and for hydrogen that will mean more water. Toyota is refining both combustion and fuel cell and only the combustion is sounding like a race car. Too bad Lexus cannot find out how to keep customers happy. And such a tiny thing as a remote. There are reasons to drive Lexus and reasons for staying with the company for next car as there are reasons against the same. The way service in the US is described here in the forum is mostly against the company. Where I live (Spain) driving a hybrid car is for some reasons very positive, no road tax for cars registered before 2017 is saving 2 – 5 hundred Euros yearly, and the extended warranty for hybrid batteries, if having the car serviced with Lexus sounds great even if servicing with Lexus cost more than going to independent workshops, but that way oil and filters are kept original and that is positive. Reading what is written a bit more hidden makes is a good part less positive as only the battery is warranted and all the other components when changing it are not; and when is a hybrid battery no longer up to standard? When no longer helping keep fuel consume down, or when only having more weight in the car (battery and components to it are extra weight) which cause consumption of more fuel? Do not remember how much fuel our little CT was using when bought it, but now instead of the 3.8L/100km promised from factory, we use more than 6.5L/100km, and Lexus with yearly battery check inform that battery is in excellent condition. One good reason not to sue Lexus is that they have lawyers already working for them and if we buyers of the cars should get same quality lawyers it could be so expensive that Lexus know it is not going to happen. And where we read Lexus – the company read Toyota with unlimited funds to win whatever is being thrown at them. The CT is a fine little car, comfortable and is now after 7 years and 3 months still driving well with no other expenses as regular service, but the fuel consumption seems to grow and is now above fuel consumption of the VW Golf DSG we had before where the Golf had considerably more power but nowhere as good sounding audio as the ML in the CT. Our car has more than 7 years to go with hybrid battery warranty and as long as nothing goes wrong we have no reason to change car and the stupid governments, in the so called civilized parts of the globe, want us to get battery driven cars that we charge with fossil fuel-generated-electricity is so stupid that only politicians are stupid enough to try to convince voters this is the way to save the planet, when it is not. Here we have huge solar cell areas making electricity and while that does not pollute, the cells are being changed to new cell types that generate more electricity on same area, before the old have even generated as much power as was used making the cells. I have been riding so many mountain bikes in so many years that I supposedly should know something about the components in them. The components that are keeping the rider in contact with bike are handlebar, saddle and pedals. While handlebars and saddles are available in so many variations and shapes that are fitting various shapes of us riders pedals are a different beast. My absolute favourite as best ever made clipless pedals are from Speedplay. FROGS. Only pedals with free float will prevent you to hurt your knees like you would if the cleats in the most used pedals are just a little out of position. Having tried all the most used I by accident found that problems with knees riding clipless pedals are due to your knees. Accepted that as I have fallen down when climbing mountains and crashing into things I continued reading and found out the knees that are not in perfect order need to be able to move in more than one direction and that is what the Frog pedals allow. Suddenly I could ride 5 or more hours without problems in knees and now I have these pedals on the bikes I use for more than just going to the baker. Another plus is that they clip in and out in muddy conditions, where many other pedals would not connect your shoes to the pedals. Sure I also have a favourite saddle whereas handlebars are much alike as long as they are flat. Favourite saddle is from SMP, but they are complicated to get adjusted correct and must be bought right size depending on your sit bones. Soft saddles are popular for short time use, but for more than just a few hours in saddle regularly, they are useless. Full carbon saddle will take a while to get used to, but after getting used to one, nothing else will be that good. Sure this has little to do with cars, but these are items I do like.

I like animals and among them cats and dogs. I do not like owners of dogs that does not clean after their animals, so children get it on shoes and it can be brought into cars and homes making us wonder from where the terrible smell comes.

Acetone is a strong thing, will remove grease and also paint, will damage rubber, so your advice to be careful is absolutely correct. Acetone is also hard on skin so gloves are needed even though I find it difficult to work wearing gloves. I would take the windows to be cleaned out of the car as both the mentioned remedies are hard on many things in the car, including plastic. Nail polish remover without acetone could maybe also be used.

I thought the 100x zoom were digital from AI and not optical. Still, next time need new phone it probably will be back to Samsung or a slight possibility it could be SONY. Still have a Vaio VGN-AW41XH-Q bought in 2008 or 9 functioning as fast as it did then.
