Replace Water Pump At 62,000 Miles?
VBdenny replied to OreCanuck's topic in 10 - 15 Lexus RX350 / RX450h
Anything can break at any time. If you happen to be Irish, that means often. -
I had my sunroof tinted with limo tint when I bought the car. I don't like even the light coming in on me which meant I always keep the cover slider closed. Now I can leave it open however I have never opened my sunroof. They are something I could easily do without on a car. After the Miata, I don't care much about open.

2015 F Sport Wheels On 2006 Is350
VBdenny replied to Riveroger's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
I can't see why they wouldn't fit. They would look great on your car and the price is great. -
I changed the tires on my ES330 to 225/60-16 car came with either 205mm or 215mm, can't remember. On the LS400 I had I changed the factory tires (205/65-15) to 225/60-15 without issues. As long as the tire is the same height, you will be okay. Tire Rack has comparision charts.

I just love car people. Nice collection, something I enjoy.

I will suggest a battery but only if you plan to keep the car for awhile. Optima Redtop. My 9 year old Redtop just started my Nissan truck after it sat for almost 3 months. Pricey but they last a long time and have a lot of juice.

Great article Paul, glad you linked it. I can not get Top Gear UK on my crappy Cox cable. I am able to get the show on my Comcast account. The show is fantastic, even better than the American version primarily because of what is said and done. I really couldn't care less about what Clarkson did or didn't do. If it offends people it means to me that he is doing something correctly.

This may or may not work but it worked for me. I had to delete my old phone before I was able to add my new phone. Not sure why but thats what worked for me. Electronics are developing into a major nightmare for vehicle owners now. In the future when these cars get really old I can only imagine the problems that develop. Try that Denny

Interesting point about WHO looked Steve. I've noticed that people tend to look at the vehicles most similar to those they have or are familiar with. When I drive my Lexus IS, the people that tend to notice are other Lexus owners and drivers of BMW-MB-Acura etc that a comparative models. Luckily (for them) I have the 250 because I do like to watch the tach swing to redline. Interestingly, when I'm driving my Chevy Silverado, the people that notice are mainly other truck drivers, primarily Chevy truck drivers. Why just yesterday I raced another SIlverado off the line at a traffic light. Talk about an invisible vehicle? try an old rednecky looking pickup.

I believe all headlights work on a circuit breaker, not a fuse. Safety reasons. A bad circuit breaker maybe?

Yeah, with that 750, you shouldn't have a problem. I have had batteries that had one weak cell which caused something like this. I would certainly try what data-rec suggested as it will determine the weakness. The heat destroys the battery over time. The more time it is exposed to higher heats, the shorter the life. Overall, a battery in Florida experiences much more heat over its life than say a New Hampshire battery. Disconnect for a day then reconnect and see what happens. If it starts right up, it is not the battery. If it doesn't, it is the battery. Much easier to track down than an intermittent problem.

The problem is called Florida. Heat kills batteries and Florida is hot. Expect a mid-grade one to last 3-4 years there. Most people think cold kills batteries when it just reduces their output and shows up differently in the north. Not such a good life for the juice packs when they are hot and I've had relatives there experience failure in less than 3 years. Not all batteries are created equal, even those which are identical. First thing to check is the condition of the terminals. Most likely problem before battery. Good luck with it all.

Can't speak for the LS430 cars but I remember how much juice my LS400 needed to start. For whatever reason, these V-8 engines need a lot of power. Disconnect, let it sit for several days, reconnect and see if it starts. I have hardly ever seen a loose ground on a car, not very common I think. Usually a corroded terminal connection.

Geese are our biggest problems on the local roads. They walk right on in front of traffic and stand around not to mention the debris they leave behind. We are patiently waiting for Canada to melt so they return home.

Sweet tooths are difficult to deal with as they do not give up. Mind over sweets is always a challenging task. Apparently most people lose this battle as I can't go to Walmart anymore.

John, I would still suspect the battery. Usually when they test, the test is for voltage. What you need is a LOAD test on the battery to determine the juice it has with a load. Here is an easy way to check. Charge the battery and disconnect. Reconnect in a few days and see how it cranks, My guess is that it will not turn the engine. If it cranks like 900 and starts, then you have a current draw. From my experiences. Denny

Like Becki, had the check been made out only to me, I would not have given it to them. I assume the main problem for people is the very limited number of Lexus dealerships in metro areas. We have about 1.8 million people in our metropolitan area, yet only 2 Lexus dealerships BOTH owned by the same company. Kind of limits your options. Without knowing specific details, I would say you were bamboozled. Not a nice situation but welcome to the LOC anyway. We strive to prevent stuff like this. Denny

Eating Big Mac's can also put a "Big" in front of your name. Big Jack, Big Tom, etc.

Virginia still has the state inspection sticker located on the base of the windshield above the right wiper hub. In the past, there was also a City issued sticker that was placed next to the state inspection sticker. Now, the City stickers are gone and only the fee remains. Virginia issues 2 plates both with month and year stickers. Luckily, no front plate is really not an issue here and I have never heard of anyone bothered for not having one. My IS does not as I didn't want holes drilled into my bumper. On the Chevy truck? yeah, I have one. I only don't put them on my Lexus cars. I collect license plates and have several hundred around.

The USS Wisconsin (BB-64) made a nice background for this photo of my car. Took my race car out for a little test run and wound up in downtown Norfolk. Only a short Interstate run for me. Luckily, I was being pretty good because the cops were swarming.

For whatever reason, eating stuff like raw fish and innards of things just holds little appeal for me. Never been able to quite wrap my head around weird foods when there are New York strip steaks available. Medium rare please.
