  1. Browsing around and saw 1994 repair manual 3? volume set. No I'm not selling it or don't know who is, I just saw it and someone here might benefit from it.
  2. what about those Bosch 4-tip Platinum Plugs? Their site says that the current will go through the easiest route which will lead to better spark. I think Bosch is a respected company and they haven't gone to Iridium. That I do not know why.
  3. I clicked on the link and I saw an imaginary video clip. (~broken link)
  4. looks like this ----> :whistles: www.planetsoarer.com suggests a 17 hp gain on a v8 (sc400). It's crazy how all this information I put in this forum I get from a whole bunch of other sources. I should be the Unofficial LOC Supreme Plagiarizer.
  5. Well I've had the BFI for about 2 months now and all I can say is that it should be faster. It's been a while and I've been used to the BFI. In my opinion, I think the revs shoot up to redline faster = more acceleration. Other than that you can hear the air being sucked in at idle. It kind of sounds a faint bath tub with running water. Or a more accurate sound would be the sound of someone inhaling with their mouth barely open. Looks like this ---> :whistles: The stock airbox is still pretty good these days because manufacturers are trying to get those high mile-per-gallon ratings and better performance per liter displacement. The sc300 stock box should be good (www.planetsoarer.com suggests that the box lets the air flow smoothly for less turbulence). The only problem is that little snorkel. It connects to the airbox and draws cold air (but in little amounts) in the right bumper area. The purpose of the snorkel is probably to draw clean, dry air. So if you live in muddy areas, any aftermarket intake is questionable.
  6. In the owner's manual low beam= 9006 55 watts high beam = 9005 65 watts
  7. BFI is good. Yes it is confusing and intimidating, but once you understand how it works it should be easy. You basically have to unscrew some plastic rivets/screws in the middle of the bumper and then pull the black plastic cover down. Cutting the airbox is easy is you have the tools (my saw was too thick so I had to drill 3 holes adjacent to make a thick hole. I did it and it cost me about 10 dollars. But then I bought some aluminum blanket for $15 and used a little to make a heat shield.
  8. You can look at http://www.intellexual.net/faq.html
  9. I was looking at the lexus model library and looked up the sc300 for 1999 and 2000 and it says it has a 5-speed manual. Is that true? http://www.lexus.com/cpo/model_detail/sc/300/1999.html http://www.lexus.com/cpo/model_detail/sc/300/2000.html
  10. bleh...I guess I'll get lighter seats and try and move the battery to trunk.
  11. It's been like that for a long long time.
  12. It's the Polyurethane Control Arm Bushings. I think front is more important than back because stiffer control arm in front gives less deflection in steering. I emailed Daizen a while back and they said they give you all the instructions. I'm not sure what tools you'll need.
  13. When you turn off the car does it still have night mode? If so the mirror is probably faulty. You can double check by taking out the "DOME" fuse in the fuse box in the engine compartment and see if the mirror goes back to normal.
  14. Could be fuse, the mirror itself, key unlock warning switch, or wiring harness itself. That's what it says in the repair manual. The manual says to pry open the top cover of the mirror with screwdriver (it's a small rectangle panel on the roof of the interior, it's not the mirror but it's the thing where the wire goes from the mirror to the panel). The panel should then have 4 terminals (square slots). It says to put positive (+) lead from battery (you're car battery, or any other 12V battery) to terminal 1 (that's the left most terminal. The negative (-) goes to the middle left terminal. Then you "Press the mirror switch and check if the mirrors surface repeatedly becomes 'bright' and 'dark'. If operation is not as specified, replace the liquid crystal inner mirror".
  15. Haven't tried it, but if it does what it says, that's pretty cool. A little refinery under your hood... The only thing fishy about this in my opinion is that Trasko doesn't look like a big company yet. Trasko claims that it can filter below 20 microns, all the way down to .1 u. If your Rx300 isn't having any problems after 100,000 miles of using it, then I guess it's alright. I just got Toyota V8 filters for the sc300's inline 6 engine. Code is 90915-20004. I haven't installed it yet but websites say it "looks" good.
  16. bought those 90915-20004 made-in-japan oil filters for 6.99 each for 10 filters. Not bad I say. Shipped to bay area in 2 days.
  17. maybe I should make an auction for 1 penny and tell them that it's at http://www.daizensporttuning.com/dealers.html

    Go Karts

I went to a karting place in Fremont, California. www.lemanskarting.com It was very expensive but pretty fun- say it's about $1.90 per minute of driving but then there's a safety video and changing in locker room. Well I drove in it and it was so fun. No body roll and if you slam the brakes hard enough you'll go into major oversteer and when you brake hard the engine misfires and fire comes out of the exhaust. Top speed at around 40mph and you're 2 inches off ground. After driving that my sc300 feels like a boat.
  20. I found a vendor: http://www.westcoastspoiler.com/lexuscarbon.htm This is by far the sketchiest page I've seen. No price no picture no-thing.
  21. It should help, but if you drive in wet weather, the water and mud is going to find its way into your combustion chamber. You can try the BFI. You need to do some crazy things to the front bumper near the radiator, and you have to cut up the stock airbox. You don't need to change the pipe though. You can do all that and get more of a performance increase and it won't attract as much water or mud into your engine. The info is at www.planetsoarer.com. Look for BFI
  22. I'm down with the hood. My only payment options are discover and visa though. As long as less than 1000 including shipping, it should be good. GTP (importfan.com) says the retail price is $750. They should go lower than that, but you need to by hood pins ($60). Shipping is gonna suck.
  23. Another club had a thread going on about C.F. hoods too. It wasn't too long ago. Maybe you can check with the people there. You know what club that is..
  24. A poll would be good. The outcome probably won't be good. Not many people know what it is.
