My 1999 GS300's CEL comes on and off. Recently it has stayed off longer than usual after I put SeaFoam into the gas tank but it still comes on after a while. I have also pulled an OBDII code: P0125. Can an O2 sensor cause the CEL light to come on and off? If it's an O2 sensor shouldn't the light just stay on??? Also, when the CEL is on, my car idles low and power delivery isn't very smooth. The car jerks forward from a stop a bit. Sometimes, when I step on the gas, the engine revs go up but the car doesn't accelerate normally. It's as if the clutch is slipping... lots of engine revving noise but no movement. Has anybody experienced this with their GS300?

just a shot in the dark here, but have you checked your coolant level? The resivior tank should be on the passenger side of the engine bay, right around the top of the wheel well. Is it in the right range? I'm a bit of a newbie, so, how would low coolant levels lead to the problem VEVRO was having with his LS? Thanks.

Hey everyone, Does anyone have a diagram of the oxygen sensors for a 1999 Lexu GS300? I have to replace my bank 1 sensor 1 sensor and I believe that's the one all the way up front. Thanks all.

Does anyone with a GS have the cargo net for the trunk. I was wondering where the anchor points are and if I would need to buy hardware to mount the net. I am hoping to get a cargo net asap. Thanks.

How often is a four-wheel alignment supposed to be done? I've heard anywhere from three to five oil changes to only whenever you do suspension work. I drive mostly highway miles from NYC to Norwalk, CT (by Stamford) so the roads aren't great. Does that affect the mileage interval of when an alignment should be done?

Hey, just curious. What is that black nylon strap that you can tighten in the trunk for? It's below the manual gas tank release cord. ;) I have my owner's manual and leather binder thing strapped to it for now...

hey, you climbed onto your trunk?!? and it didn't dent in? i'm pretty afraid of even leaning on my hood to clean the windshields... the sheet metal feels so thin on the GS IMO.

Hey, I live in the Northeast and we just got hammered with snow this weekend. Does anyone have some interesting stories to tell about their drives? How were the snow tires you had on the car if any? I'll begin. Driving was a heck lot of fun up with all that snow. I have on Michellin Pilot PAs and they were great. They tend to slip a bit in three or more inches of snow but the VSC did a great job of keeping me on course and moving. I tried to make the car spin out a couple of times turning from stop signs but it never happened. :)

so do the struts affect the caster or does the lower control arm affect the caster? thanks. The struts a common problem on the 2nd gen GS's and would make the clicking noise you descibed when accelerating and stopping. However it could be the lower control arm as well. Labor is very expensive to replace the control arm, so I'd want to get the maximum mileage out the replacement control arm that's being installed on the car So I'd only go with a new one. You can check the control arm out by looking at the bushings, seeing if they're worn out. Also jacking up the car and seeing if there is any play from side to side or from front to rear. <_< I would definetly buy new myself, Just came across them and posted for the heluvit. I wouls also replace both sides but that is just me. ;) thank you all for your help. i hope i can be a help to you guys in the future. thanks again.

I just went to get an alignment and was told that my lower control arm on the front passenger side is a bit bent. It's also been making clicking noises when I turn to the right or go over rough road. When I turn right and brake it would make two clicking noises when I stop and then two more when I gas again, for instance at a stop sign. I hear the noises every morning when I pull into the parking garage at work. So, has anyone has their lower control arms replaced? If so how much was it done for?

i have 96K miles on my stock '99 gs3 suspension. does anyone know when they are supposed to be replaced?

hey all, my steering wheel feels like there's something loose inside it when i go over bumps as if there's something loose inside it. this started about a month ago. prior to this it would feel like any other steering wheel; i would feel the bumps but it would never feel like it might come off. has anyone experienced this? are there some bolts or components in the steering column or linkages that might need to be tightened? let me know. thanks.

Thanks lots bro. I was getting a bit worried seeing that my eninge seems to be a bit louder when cold. I hear a flapping sound now. How many miles on it as of now? I have about 95000 miles on it now and I'm about to get my tranny fluid changed tomorrow.

hey all, when i'm going 80mph in my 99 gs300, my revs are at 3000rpm. is that normal? i would have thought that a luxury car would rev lower at that speed? also at 75mph, my rev is at about 2750rmp. please let me know how many rpm you're doing at 75 and 80. thanks.
