  1. Thanks lots bro. I was getting a bit worried seeing that my eninge seems to be a bit louder when cold. I hear a flapping sound now.
  2. i read on the forum that someone cleaned out the egr valve in their attempts to remedy their low idle problems. so, after reading the post stating that gs300s don't have egr valves, i was a bit confused. thanks.
  3. thanks for the reply. i ran my engine with low oil for a while without realizing it. i drive about 100 highway miles a day and went for a week not knowing that my oil was a bit lower than usual. i then noticed my engine's been a bit noisier when it's cold. once warmed up though it's quiet as usual. i really hope i didn't mess up my valvetrain.
  4. Just out of curiosity, what damage can be caused by running an inline 6 engine with low oil for 500 miles???
  5. Does the GS300 have an EGR valve? I read in a prior post when I looked up fuel injector cleaner, that the GS does not have EGR Valves.
  6. hahaha.... where do you live 1990LS400? hahaha. thanks buddy. :D
  7. hey, i just looked inside my radiator and noticed the coolant is GREEN!! is that okay? it's been like that for 15,000 miles and i have a total of 95,000 miles on the car. should i change it immediately to toyota's red stuff? i have a 1999 gs300. Please advise.
  8. hi guys, i need to drain my windshield wiper fluid and put in the winter stuff. does anyone know if there's a drain plug for the resevoir? if so where is it located? i am using rain-x bug remover which has alcohol in it. as such, i did not think it would freeze but it did. the temperature was in the teens last night in nyc and when i depressed my windshield fluid squirter button it wouldn't come out. it froze! so, please let me know. thanks. B)
  9. Maybe I just got a bad set. All I know is that they where junk. There is always a bad apple in every bunch. ← are the side markers supposed to light up? mine never lights up? when do they usually light up?
  10. Hi all, is it possible to turn your fog lights on without your low beams being on??? I can't seem to do that with my 1999 GS300. LET ME KNOW> THANKS
  11. thanks guy! my passenger front wheel has a bit more negative caster than the driver side. its off by less than one degree so the technician said no caster adjustments, meaning the changing of the control arm, was neccessary. my car has never been in an accident but it has gone over a sizeable pothole once or twice on the highway. so that probably caused it. by the way, i have to bring my car back as it strays right when i hold the steering wheel dead center. i hope the technician can fix that! thanks again CRUZNROADKING.
  12. Hey does anyone have a cargo net in their GS? If yes, where does it anchor?
  13. I just got an alignment done and apparently I have too much negative caster on the front passenger side wheel. The technician said that the caster on the GS cannot be adjusted and the only way to fix that is to replace the lower control arm. Can anyone verify that the caster on our cars cannot be adjusted? I just put on Michelin Alpin PA2 snow tires by the way and they are great.
  14. i have a pair of whites if you haven't gotten them yet. let me know. thanks.
  15. You sound very knowledgeable. I hope you get your rough idle problem fixed. I have a similar problem. How do you check the timing and what is BTDC?
  16. what size M3's did you get. I have a '99 GS300 and they didn't have the stock size so I ended up getting Michelin Alpine PA2s.
  17. Can I wait till 120,000 miles to change the timing belt and water pump? I heard that it's okay to do that; at least for the timing belt. What condition were your timing belts in when it was changed? How much would it cost to change the belt and water pump?
  18. Investment analyst with one of the largest commercial lenders in asset based lending. Fun job with lots of travel. Can't wait till I get a new GS430 or GS450!
  19. Just found out that due to the wavelength of yellow light, it does not refract and reflect as much as pure white light would. Since fog/mist/rain is composed of many water droplets that can reflect and refract light, the more there is the less affective white light would be in lighting the road. As such, HID's are generally less affective in the fog/mist/rain and that's why they were equipped with yellow fogs from the factory, whereas the normal filament headlights had normal (non-yellow) fogs. Just a point of interest I wanted to share.
  20. Does anyone know how to take off the driver and passenger seat backs in a '99 GS300 so that the power seat motors/hinges/et al can be greased? My seats are not reclining/inclining as smoothly as they used to. It also sounds like they could need some grease. Let me know.
