  2. Well with that being said we sure don't want those timing belts to snap then on these earlier year Lexus/Toyota motors of ours....
  3. I am next...I am working with Steve now on gathering all the parts needed for a single turbo setup like his...Lex, Got any extra turbo parts laying around you may want to sell me...I'll call you later...
  4. I really don't know the difference between a interferring motor and non...If it's when the VVti kicks in then it is 98.... What is interferring with the motor? Is it compression, or the VVti that makes a motor interferring as apposed to non... I am lost on that term and should know it...

I owned a 1986 Isuzu tropper II carburated 4 banger...Big time gutless, I would be pressed hard to beat a fully loaded big rig in a quarter mile sprint in that lemon...I had to gut the cats just to squeeze a little more power out of it....The bright side it was an eye dropper for fuel economy... I probably had a few drivers experiencing road rage at some level driving behind me in that slow !Removed! truck...
  7. Got more question - That engine appears like it really fit in nicely... I always thought the 4.7L motors were to tall with the intake to fit in any Sc400... You proved that to be wrong...Did you have to make any adjustments or alterations with this swap? ECU and tranny how did you make that work?
  8. Very nice Lex.... What are those dyno numbers they are hard to read? When does the boost happen? You made this happen in a hurry good deal... Is it dropped in the black SC4? Everyone this is the man when it comes to hotrodding the Lexus's...He puts me to shame with knowledge and actual lexus performance vehicles of the past........ I have learned much from MR. Lextreme... Keep us posted when you boost this baby...
  9. 92-94 SC400's and LS400's motors are the stoutest Lexus/Toyota motors made to date...In other words they are built stronger then all the newer V8 Lexus and Toyota motors which means they also may last the longest...... Hey, Dave (lextreme) what's up?...Didn't know you posted on this forum... I check in every now and then....
  10. Stuff on every car wears out eventually... Just be thankful you don't live in constant snow or close to the Ocean and watch the rust invade your car like cancer....It could be worse...

Not so sure they can make the speed limit.. What is the most gutless car ever made from factory? Maybe the old Susuki Samuri, or older VW bugs maybe?

  13. My beloved Dallas Cowboy went down today Tony Homo couldn't get it done again...It's funny how teams like the Cowboys and the Cults struggle to have amazing seasons then 1st round they are ousted, just like that...... I feel bad for those guys...Actually they get paid too much to feel sorry for them..+ they get to go fishing now instead of playing football...How bad can it be.... All I got left is the PAC... GO PAC GO!!!! do do de de do...Go Pac Go!!!!! Rodney Dangerfield - No respect

Well PT Cruisers aren't speed demons.... PT Cruiser owners are in most cases quite odd to begin with...I think they are a rediculous looking cars with no power.... Just my two cents...

  16. Love the one your with....Right Smoothe?
  17. It was nervous time when the Pack went down 14 to start the game... I thought it might be one of those days....GO PACK GO!!!! Cheese heads!!! Lambo!!! The frozen tundra!!! etc... 10,000 grand - Money
  18. Contacting the dealership is a good idea... Just maybe the 94-97 engines are identical or close too it, like all wire harnesses, ECU, bolt patterns, etc. I severly dought that the 97 motor will just drop right in and everything magically hookup, but it is worth a try, you just never know... Example - Just a few weaks ago I was looking for a replacement swap tranny for my SC400...I was able to locate a 93 SC4 tranny for $300 but wasn't sure it would hookup with my 1992 car...I called the dealership and they told me the trannies were identical from 1992-1994... That one call made it happen for me...

  20. Is it worth it? Put it this way imagine your SC400 having twice the power it has now...You hammer it and you say wow this feels like it's twice as fast.... Then a strange thing happens and you realise your once slow SC400 is now fast... You drive around with a sense of invincibility, you look at other cars and say there is no way that car can take me... Once in a while you may even get challenged and you smile, hit that gas and win.... Unless you come up against a Z06 vette then you get destroyed and brought back down to earth.... Downsides are you will get poor gas mileage with a boosted motor...You will notice the needle drops to empty abit faster then before you had the turbo's...Also if you have smog emmission in your State you will not pass and you better have a black market hookup or else you won't be driving a registered car..... I hope that helps with your desicion.... One of the reasons I went with a Nitrous application is to still be able to get the normal MPG on my SC400 as it would in stock form... I've enjoyed that over the years, but I still have to push buttons to get the big power, re-fill these nitrous bottles every every other month or so at $80 a pop... would prefer boost, but live with NOS....

Yeah, just trying to throw a little humor into these posts every now and then...
  22. Sounds like electrical trouble for sure...Ecu maybe but dought it still..Something with your ignition system...Did you check your ignition fuse? The motor turns but you get no spark, right?... If you can't figure it out have it looked at and diagnosed at service station... To have it checked out shouldn't cost you too much money... I personally would work thru all the electrical until I located the problem..If the ignition is getting a different voltage that just sounds to wierd to me...How does the voltage get changed on the ignition by itself..Almost impossibel to fathom unless other electrical work was done and wires were crossed or something....It doesn't sound that major though, maybe ECU at the worst but I still dought that.... Good luck man, wish I could be of more help to you..
  23. You replaced it without removing the underbody covers? Hmmm? So you replaced it going from the top hood area then.. I guess the SC3's have more room to get with the straight six motor... Glad to hear you replaced it succesfully...Good deal..
  24. There is good chance you roasted your cat converters you may want to check them once you get the car running right... They heat up and turn bright red and cook the insides... Hopefully you didn't run the car too long with a bad coil...
