The original IS350 came out as 2006 model year in rear wheel drive form only. The data panel in Road and Track article showed 142 as top speed, noting that it was "electronically limited". But that's some time ago, even if it's the same engine.

No need now. I got rid of the 2002 Civic GX and replaced it with a 2010 Civic GX. Headlights are very clear.

Yes, it's worth the trouble to find them. And btw I've seen many doctors charge over $117 for even less not that it has anything to do with Lexus. Athough my late model Lexus gets excellent service via my Lexus dealership (1 in particular), I use top notch independents/specialists for my Honda and Mercedes cars.

My opinion is for older Lexus cars, I'd consider independent Lexus/Toyota experts for service and repairs. This is a similar situation to what Porsche owners have experienced, dealer service expertise is mainly with cars younger than 10 years old.

I wonder if speed rating on Lexus specified AWD tires are different, resulting in top speed governor set differently....

Down one at my house. I sold my 2013 Mazda CX-5 GT AWD w/technology package a couple of weeks ago. A family member needed to replace her Subie Outback with 189K miles, so I offered up my Mazda which I wasn't using as much this year. It had been a very solid vehicle and I thoroughly recommend it as one of best in this class.

My view us the "newness" wears off quickly. The challenge to me is keeping the car "nearly new" for many years, while still enjoying the (weekend mostly) car.

Yes , a garbage dealership is a garbage. I'll bet on my dealership (1 specifically) with confidence. I tested them, they passed easily.

Yes, Certified Pre-Owned. Huge business for major automakers/dealerships. Factory-backed warranties are included, giving buyers many of the advantages of buying new without having to eat the biggest depreciation hit in first 18 months or so. Here's a copy of an older Lexus CPO certification checklist, fyi. Along with the inspection/certification, certain requirements related to age, mileage, serious accidents disqualify many used cars from being certified. CPO-Lexus_161_Checklist.pdf

Only the glass part of my roof moves (moonroof retracts on my IS sedan), and I do not wax it.

Turbo DI 4 is necessary for mpg and good performance. Lexus will have both DI and port injection on this engine (so it won't have carboning problem of 2.5L DI V6). I'm comfortable that Lexus can get this engine right before 1st customer delivery (after extensive and thorough testing). I have a Mercedes turbo DI 4 that has proven to be reliable and efficient since it's introduction in model year 2010 in non-US markets/2012 in US market.

I'm still having Lexus dealership (only one in particular) do the service on my Lexus IS, even though it's out of warranty. Since I only put about 5K miles/year on the car, my annual maintenance costs are still very low for a premium car. I get excellent service at my dealership via one service writer (somebody that I have been using for over 5 years straight). No complaints.
