  1. Mine is the 2011 without ML and it has 8 speakers which sound great. Why mess with speaker replacements, etc. If really into the sound system, recommend switching to a car with the ML system..pretty sick sound!!, but it was not worth the price for me anyway
  2. with your corrected gas mileage of 30L/100KM, that is about 8MPG that is RIDICULOUS...it must be leaking!!! is there gas under the car after it is parked for a while which perhaps you have thought was just condensation from the air conditioning??
  3. wow, about 13MPG in US terms, that is horrible something is definitely wrong, and it is not the level of octane in the gas! when I drive all city, and aggressively, I still get about 18MPG or in your terms, about 13L/100KM mine is a 2011, but that is not the difference could be a bunch of things...best to take it to Lexus service
  4. nice segue, wtf??
  5. either will be a major improvement over wrong tire type, wrong tire size, lol no, seriously, both are fine, I think one might be slightly better for handling, not sure, but difference would be subtle anyway
  6. got curious, called my lexus service people to see if they would put the non-factory size 225/50 tires on the es said that they WOULD be that size on the es cause they are confident it is not a problem..WOULD NOT put on 235's knowing that there would be clearance issues asked why they were not concerned about warranty, or speedometer error that would result..they said it is so close, neither would be an issue very, very weird to me since there seems to be an absolute consensus that the 225/50's would make no difference in handling, noise, etc., I don't see any reason to change to that size from the stock 215/55's
  7. guess we were wrong that a dealer would put on tires that were not a legitimate listed tire option size for the car the tire radius is close, but not the same, so the speedometer has been off a bit since you have had the car anyway, getting the correct size will clear that up
  8. had the 10k service...essentially a $200 oil change,lol...but not comfortable bringing it anywhere else with my previous cars, all maxima's, I just brought them to jiffy lube and only went to the dealer if something major was needed, essentially never...synthetic oil change at jiffy was well under $100 as I recall
  9. totally agree, and in this case I would a agree with them...they should never do anything not specifically recommended by lexus
  10. "Lexus quoted me Pilot HX MXM4 225/50R17" it was lexus that said it, and it is so specific, it could be mistake I think the mistake lexus made was giving her a quote for the wrong size tire...they were probably thinking of another model as there is only one size recommended for the es with NO substitute as we know from our exhaustive conversation from a while back, lol
  11. here ya, but the size talked about at the beginning of this thread was 225/50..so if that guy wanted that size in that tire, he can't get it, that was my point
  12. understood, but they have to be bought with the factory size 215/55R17
  13. you have the stock 215/55R17 size or you go up one size to the 225/50/R17? looks like you can only get the Primacy in the standard 215/55 size, the 225/50 size is appears to be called Pilot for what looks like a comparable tire
  14. you have the stock 215/55R17 size or you go up one size to the 225/50/R17?
  15. you have had the 245 width tire for a while now..any issues with rubbing, problem over bumps, etc??? Thanks.
  16. Lexus says there is only one recommended size tire and that is 215/55R17, not 225/50R17. Do you have those size tires now? Did you change tire size for better handling? Thanks.
  17. yip, was leaning towards sticking with the scheduled maintenance, but your advice seals it for me I will make an appt soon..somewhere between 10, and 11k miles now so still ok for regular 5k service and yeah, I will still use the synthetic, that seems like a no-brainer
  18. upload pics from phone to computer, attach to post from computer
  19. understood, thanks
  20. I check Sewell's website and verified that they sell a credit card key for the ES350: http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/Keys/ES350-2008/2696.html If you buy from Sewell be sure to register to get discounted prices. The Key in the page above is the key referred to in the first post. Futher research did indeed find the SMART CARD KEY that is electronic and a "credit card" to be carried in the wallet(a super product). However, it is extremely expensive. Here is that page for a 2008 ES350. You will have to back-up for other years and models>>> http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accessories-catalog/Keys/ES350-2008/2689.html totally confused if the car already has a push button start, doesn't this product serve the same purpose as the regular key that needs to be with you perhaps you guys are talking about this for cars without push starts, eh? thanks all
  21. how do you get a wallet credit card key?
  22. ahhh, good point, will have to check it out..though a couple of thou miles either way prob does not make a difference even if I stick closer to the 5k service, I will continue to use the synthetic..the more I read about the benefits of the synthetic the more obvious it is that it is worth the extra money..especially if driving a mostly local, and a bit aggressive if you paid up for a Lexus, seems silly not to use the synthetic..everybody on board with that?
  23. just crossed 10k miles..car is great put the synthetic in at 5k so comfortable waiting somewhat past 10k to bring it back figure 12k or 13k is fine for next routine service anyone else use the synthetic and delay the recommended 5k service
  24. just crossed 10k miles..car is great put the synthetic in at 5kk so comfortable waiting somewhat past 10k to bring it back figure 12k or 13k is fine for next routine service anyone else use the synthetic and delay the recommended 5k service
  25. lol, ooops, yip makes no sense
