yeah, worth trying out..at least we will finally have the answer I will reset mine after putting in 35 or 36 psi, and than test it to see where the threshold is, and if it is a fixed delta from the set point or a percentage
-
The obvious solution is for one of us to fly to the factory in Japan, all expenses paid by Steve, Steve W, and the LOC, and get the definitive answers from the design engineers. Since your all busy I'll volunteer. I'll let you know what I find out.....LOL thanks..watch out for the radiation!!
-
seems like a lot to me also...called one more dealer and insisted on talking to one of the guys who ACTUALLY does the work he said the trigger is plus or minus 7psi, not a percentage, lol, so who knows for sure
-
Default threshold is dependant upon where the sensors are initialized. See if this clears things up(or confuses you even more). Excellent help. Thank you! one important item that is not documented is at what delta from the "reset pressure" will the indicator light go on..5 psi, some %? it does not say anywhere found a guy at a dealer who seemed to be an expert, and he says 25% in either direction so if "reset point" at 30psi where manufacuturer recommneds having pressure, the light would not go on until 22.5 psi hmm.seems we have fooks here who have seen the light at higher pressures well, if this guy is correct..the reset point is higher than 30psi by default guy definintely seemed to know what he was talking about though

yeah, no doubt frustrating that they do know, what I consider, a very basic feature of the car steve, can you point us to the documentation for the pressure indicator system/reset, etc? thanks ok, found it section 4-3 do it yourself maintenance page 396

thanks paul!! I will take a look for the button there ============================ LOL!!! here ya go http://www.thefreedictionary.com/programmatic programmatically is adverb of programmatic

thanks!!..I am going to assume you are right, but here is the funny thing called lexus service this am to ask, and they said factory setting for downside threshold was 27, or 28, LOLOL I mean can they be that stupid...either you are correct, my assumption, which would be a nice way for it to work, or they are right and you are all wet on this one, lol I asked if it the threshold could be reset a bit higher, and they said no problem, just let us know when you bring it in next time, wtf!! I will call another lexus dealer's service dept and ask someone else and challenge them if I get the same answer do you know were that info you provided is documented, thanks again steve called another lexus service..they said it was a threshold, agreeing with the other service place, but was confident that the low threshold was set to 29, not 27 or 28 as the original place said both service centers said that threshold could be reset but it had to be done programmatically, and neither referenced a button under the dash no clue wtf is up now My tire pressure light came on one morning last week. Took it to a service station close by. All tires were 30 psi except for right passenger side tire which was 25 psi (picked up a nail). That would indicate that steve is probably right. either could be right k.c....if there is a factory threshold, and the 25 was below it, the light would go on in that case too No, the light was not on when I started out, but came on after about 5-10 minutes. That means it did not come on until the right rear tire hit 25 psi, or at least that's my observation, but I could be wrong. The other tires read exactly 30 psi, so they did not have time to expand. oops,my apologies k.c. there dealers told me that the low threshold was either 27, or 28, so if no light til 25, that is some evidence that steve is correct must be a way to find the definitive answer somewhere..shouldn't have to speculate...guess it would make sense for us to look for the button steve is referring to

anybody know the default tire pressure sensor threshold, and if it is able to be modified? thanks

Would using this 0W-20 oil in a 2009 ES350 be worth any fuel economy or efficiency gains? answer seems to be above in the quote you provided...difference is so marginal, why bother, IMO

dead sales has def been the case for the gs they seemed to have focused on performance regarding the new gs..which makes a TON of sense at that price point, I think customers opting for bmw's, audi's, etc. were passing on the gs for the better performance of the others seems the new gs has the same speed 0-60..plenty fast at 5.7 secs, but the reviews say the handling significantly improved..I drove the 2011 gs, and handling was already pretty good, so the 2013 must be amazing..looking forward to scaring the sales person on my test drive, lol..funny, they don't seem to mind as long as they have some confidence that you are a serious potential buyer..tough job The current gen GS is in a tough spot sandwiched in between the ES and LS. I think the move to make it a true sport sedan (from the sound of things) is the right way to go. It's impressive IMO that the 3.5 V6 is still class competitive in performance, gas mileage etc. after being around all of these model years. it is impressive that they can get over 300hp out of the non-turbo 3.5 v6 and still maintain the gas mileage as you point out remember the old days when to get that kind of horse power you would need big engines and need to just pure tons of gas through them with big carburetors, wow, that was long time ago
-
yeah, I am with ya...like the es a lot, and only had it a year, and also agree that I want to see the new gs in person, pics are impressive very curious to check out the performance vs the the bmw5, etc so not inclined to trade, but with interest rates sooo low, the dealer might be able to make it a compelling case based on price certainly will torture the poor salesman to determine if that is indeed the case, lol

What is the price rob? around high 40's for the AWD, a bit less for the RWD..probably 50 and change when done with options, warranty, etc. they apparently will have some sport edition, which no doubt will cost more, but don't know how much we should have official pricing soon I like the look
-
any current es owners thinking seriously at all about trading for the new 2013 gs which apparently will be available in feb definitely gonna drive that one when it gets to the dealers TOUGH competition at that price that is for sure, but curious to check it out

don't think you would need to reprogram anything just because of battery replacement lexus dealer will do it for free which is probably the move no-brainer to do yourself, but then have to go get battery first, or have it shipped, so seems simpler/faster to just have delaer do it

Clock Does Not Change From Daylight Time
rob_es350 replied to billfuji's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
ANY NAVIGATION SYSTEM is not the topic of this thread! I thought it was about the Lexus Navigation System not changing to daylight savings time. The fact that your watch can do it but the Lexus Navigation cannot seems highly relevant to the thread. gotta nice disagreement going here..looking forward to the reply -

Just Replaced The OEM Bridgestone's with new Michelin Primacys
rob_es350 replied to SW03ES's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
hmmm, guess I got lucky that my 2011 just happen to have the Michelin's. would have bought the car either way, didn't even know enough to care which tires it came with figured it was a Lexus, had to be good, lol \ wow, I hope I get more then 20+k miles on um, but they way I drive, mostly local, and a tad too aggressive, I might not do any better at least when I replace them, I will know EXACTLY what to get thanks to you guys steve, that sucks about the cosmetic damage, that type of thing makes me nuts, so freakin annoying -
greed... not surprised at all...no shortage of US corporations getting caught doing MUCH worse..enron, tyco, and on and on and on

this is a company press release, not an article from a reviewing magazine or something similar o, I totally agree that you get an amazing amount of features and quality for your money they sell a tom of them, so that seems to be the consensus
