  1. Hello everybody, just thought I would pop in to share some of the pictures from my recent excusrsion through WA, OR, and NorCal. We wanted to go to San-Franscisco, but it would have cost a little more money than we were comfortable with, so we decided to nix it and stick to the Pacific Coast Hwy, Redwood Forest, the Lava Beds, Klamath upper and lower Wildlife Refuges, and Crater Lake. A small tidbit of info that many people may not know, if you want to visit state/national parks, and you happen to go in the winter, the rates and fees are often highly discounted, or even free. My wife and I visited 4 national parks, and all but 1 was free of charge in the winter months. The pix are in order of the trip, and are numbered. If you would like High-Res photos, PM me with your email and I would be happy to oblige. :) I apologize in advance for the excessive photos of my truck, but this post is cross posted on the Ram Forum. It took me about 5 hours to resize/upload and get this post coded, so I really only wanted to do it once...and being that we are all enthusiasts here, I figured noone would mind anyway. 2. Glad to hear you are back! Site changes look great don't they... Absolutely. And I am not back...yet. Still sitting in Kuwait. 0200hrs is wheels up. You will get them ASAP :)
  3. Sitting at Kandahar Air Field, at the USO. Free net FTW! Diggin' the site changes around here too ya'll. :D
  4. Check the waterpump, camshaft position sensors, crankshaft position sensors...theres a hundred possibilities. Did the dealer tear the engine apart? DId they set the pistons/crank/cams to the right positions before reinstalling the belt? All these are questions we need the answers to. Your engine is non-interference, so I doubt you did anything too awful. Probably just a sensor somewhere.
  5. Starting the 15th of January, I will leave Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, bound for the good ol' US of A. My leave starts on the 20th of January, and runs through the 5th of February. My travels will take me from Camp Leatherneck to Kandahar Airfield, where I will sit for 2-3 days, then to Ali-Al-Saleem Air Base in Kuwait City, Kuwait where I will sit for 2-3 days. Then a layover in Dubai, U.A.E., another in Hahn, Germany, then yet another one at the USO Hub in Atlanta GA. Then from there to Seattle. My leave plans are throwing on my new mods, doing christmas with the wife, and driving to Northern California to see the Seirra Nevada's, Lake Tahoe, the Lava Beds, the Redwood Forest and whatever else tickles our fancy down that way. The plan is to take I-5 south to US-30, and US-30 west to US-101. Then we are going to take that down to Crescent City. On the way back we will take I-5 north stopping in Portland for some family stuff, then back to Seattle. All-in-all, I expect it to set us back about $500. $250 for gas and $250 for hotel/B&B stays. Not bad for a mini-vacation/getaway (which offhand, is something we desperately need.) Here is the kicker. I promised the wife, absolutely NO LOC, RamForumZ, or FaceBook from the computer...oh well, still got the phone... . So for those 3-4 weeks, I will be off the boards, but expect lots of pix when I return.
  6. Yeah, she helped me pick some of it out! LOL.

  15. Go Pack! Who won that one? I didnt catch it on Armed Forces Network (AFN) in the Dining Facility.
  16. Were ANY other windows down in the car? even cracked? If so, uneven pressure combined with a flaw in the glass was probably the cause. I am referring to the helicopter effect (the noise you hear in some cars when windows are only cracked and not all the way open) and it can cause glass failure if the glass has impurities or is flawed.
  17. I really dont think the HS is nessecary in the market today. For what it is, I think people would rather just option out a prius. As for me, I would rather have an HS any day. I never thought the car was ugly or awkward, and I have always thought the Pruis was (until the last redesign).
  18. What I would have given for a denny's breakfast or applebees dinner LOL!

Wow...lol, just wow. You two crack me up. gabep, I think you should stick around, especially if you own a lexus. Hell, I havent owned one in nearly a decade, but I am still here because it is a great community (albeit a little small). If our opinions dont matter to you than that sucks, But I (and many others) have fought (I am still fighting, 3rd tour) and been wounded in combat, so that you could voice your opinion and have it vauled. Just because we may not agree with you does not mean we dont value your opinions. You can have one without the other.
  21. I think what they have done, Steve, is lower the base MSRP, and raise the price of the option packages, in an effort to increase profit margins. I mean, lets face it, $5,300 for leather interior, in any vehicle is HIGH.
