1. Hey GoldCountry, i don't know if your interested... but as i was searching EBAY online... i came across this ES300. I've dealt with this guy before. He's not bad. Just give him a call, n ask him for your Chrome Wheels? Ask if he has it. I think he has 2 ES's for parting. I know he mentioned one set is going to be chrome and one set is going to be non- chrome. So give him a call n let me know how it goes if your still interested in your chrome wheel. B)
2. I didn't know that. Do they have that kit @ Autozone? I don't think i have a head gasket blown... but i would like to find out just in case since most of my cars are still OLD OEM part's @ 176k. N plus i like to learn these things n it's fun picking my car apart now B)
3. yes sir it indeed is me Hahahaha... you recognized the cluster right? Thanks for ALL the help you have given me DC. It came out ok, not going to complain. Compared to having all the needles BLACK. I guess i'll work more on balancing the needle this weekend... or whenever my g/f wants me to. As for y the needles are expesnive? I haven't had the slightest clue. LED lights aren't expesnive, but then again... the needles aren't LED are they? Perhaps it's the materials of the light. I think it's about $25 - $50 per needle b/c they sell them in sets.
4. Yea, just go with Ceramic pads. You can't go wrong with what Factory suggests you to get. Some pad's however will eat up your rotors. So go with Ceramic. N like what Bicol said... you won't get much brake dust with Ceramic.
5. Perhaps one day i can help you and the guy who started it to fill it up. Maybe we can get a big rally. LOL.
6. The website i gave you will allow you to buy it. There is an area that says "ADD TO CART" You can also give them a call or email them. They can help you out there too.
7. OH OH OH i know which one is urs LEXLS. Hahahaha... looks like you guys had fun taking pictures of your babies. I wish i could have been there... b the only one with a "DOG !Removed! COLOR" (as my g/f puts it) with a white left side mirror on it. I would look so out of place. Hahahaha. Now you need to find some guys with an IS, RX, LX, GX then you guys are all set. O wait... is there an SC? I don't think so.
8. Hey think of it this way, we all have to learn something at one point. Like what everyone stated, it's better to have you state something than not know it at all and make a mistake. In my opinion... no one here will crucify you if you ask a question. They may not like a question that might have been discussed over and over. The worse anyone will tell you is to go look it up using the searching tools. But take it from me, i don't know much about fixing a car. But just being here since Aug of this year, i've learned substantially and i'm starting to DIY. These guys here are great. They will try to answer your questions the best they can. They've yet to hit me like this :chairshot: ... they only seem to do this to me and it makes me feel like they are B) so don't feel . Good luck on ur fixes. Share the info if you know anything too... n who knows... we might b the one whose about a question.
9. Yea, the needles DO NOT have bulbs. That red thing on the needle is the actual light. I hope u disconnected the battery terminal before u took out the cluster. You can find the needles here: http://www.lextech.org/osCommerce/ I believe they can do the whole thing for u, for a slight fee... but way cheaper than going to Dealer and having them do it . N plus if you want to change the background to a certain color or change the needle to a certain color... they have it all. N if you don't want to buy needles... you can try the KRUDGE FIX. Basically it deals with a little Flourescent paint a blacklight and some soldering. It's pretty simple to do and it's cheap. This is the link to the forum that discusses the KRUDGE FIX. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...l=cluster&st=15 Or you can try extra super bootleg version that i did <_< . My g/f didn't trust my soldering skillz so she opted to put LED lights inside :chairshot: . It looks ok... but like i said before... real bootleg compared to the KRUDGE FIX. We glued some Craft Lanyard... it's not string's but the thin thin colored PCV plastic. It's like a string but a thin PCV string. Hard to explain. We chose NEON GREEN. Wit the LED blue lights on the NEON Green... it makes it bright. This is how it looks like... my bootleg way. But if u do the Krudge Fix... i promise u it will look better than mine. If only she let me solder. Hehehehe. Good luck B)
10. If you can't find any around you... if you want... u can always ask relatives and friends... n later on... OWE THEM A BIG FAVOR!!! LOL. But yea, you can always check ebay if you want. Just make sure they are in good condition. You can always check out this online junkyard. I got something from them once. They were pretty good to me. Since your only looking for RIMS... just make sure they get the good one... cause this is going to be the place where your heart will cry out seeing ALL THOSE LEXI's dying and MANGLED. However, you just need one... i'm not sure if they will sell you one... but it's worth a shot... n c if you can find it. http://www.taprecycling.net They have a lot of Lexi n Toyo parts
11. If i'm correct... i believe Lexus recommends Ceramic pads. I would probably get OEM pads from "www.irontoad.com" which are Ceramic. But if you don't go for OEM... i think CERAMIC pads are good. But that's just my opinion.
12. either a dealership or a junkyard. Check out the yellowpages on the other topic, n search for a junkyard, n perhaps visit them. Not a mechanic, but the sad last burial site for cars right before they go to the celestrials and get picked to bits down to the final frame.
13. I'm sure there's bound to be another junkyard of some sort in your area. Check your local listings or perhaps use the yellowpages on yahoo.com. http://yp.yahoo.com/py/ypBrowse.py?ycat=78...y0csy93nHgtKQ-- I hope you can find the same exact rims for cheaper. I don't know if you want, but you can also check out the neighboring cities when you decide you might want to visit a friend or just visit or just plain search out n locate your rims. So even after the tire guy did his magic... it's still leaking? Good luck B)
14. hahaha... yea i am pretty new jragosta. I never read that thread yet. The threads that i have read are usually the new stuff or the problems i'm experiencing with my own vehicle. Thanks... i will read it now.
15. not only the trip to the mechanic was saved... but the MONEY was saved. What is the guy's name? Well for me, i guess i need to change the whole motor and not the mast. I guess i can buy a new mast for my Girlfriend's ES. Thanks. Let me know how it goes with the new mast
16. wut did you do to get the fuse blown? What type of bulbs did you put in there and how long did it last?
17. How bad can the delay be? Oh do you mean when it switches gears? Or do you mean when it goes from reverse to drive?
18. interesting data. I don't understand why German Car's values are held better than japanese cars? I mean, if you have an ES300 vs. BMW 3series... how come the german car can retain more of a resell value? It clearly show's that their car aren't AS reliable as Japanese cars (take my statement with a grain of salt, i'm not saying that they aren't reliable... but NOT AS reliable). Year after year, Toyota/Lexus have been dominating in the reliablity field n customer satisfication field. But the car values just don't stick. Even JD also says Toyota n Lexus are among the top in reliablity. I wonder if it has anything to do with Chrysler buying MB? Maybe the management team aren't doing a good job improving it? Eh.... never drove a German Car before (would love to one day) but i love my Lex. B)
19. Well good luck on it. Let us know how it works out. Just to double check, the noise is coming from the RIGHT SIDE REAR right? Which is the direction of the antenna. I just hope the motor doesn't crap out soon. VMF... yea those !Removed! in NYC are a pain in the !Removed!. Sometimes i'm paranoid when i'm @ home. One time those went on a rampage on my neighborhood. Every car that was parked on the streets got their left mirror's smashed. Well it was like every other car. N my car happened to fell victim. Most people don't pull their side mirror's in. So about every other car for about a mile was broken. It happened for about 2 or 3 months. THey went in intervals. Once in a while. Different parts of the neighborhood. But those broke my mirror... n @ the same time they ripped part of my rear left fender trim off n created several LONG scratches along my left DOORS (not one but two) it was as if they took a car n literally banged in n scrapped the WHOLE length of the car. Since then... i replaced the mirror but it's different color from the rest of my car.:cries: My car is tan or brown (as other people put it... dog !Removed! color) and my mirror is white. **SIGH** So when i'm down in the city n u c my car... u know it's me. Just give me a call. I'm sure you guys can feel my pain... @ that time, i felt like i wanted to kill someone. If u want... i can show u the pic. So sad.
20. HAHAHAHHAA. I guess that is true. But Chrome looks soooo beautiful on a car though and it's sad that they cost so much. *SIGH* Next time i run into someone wit that problem... i'm going to use that same exact quote. HAHAHA. You definitely got me smiling now. Take care. B)
21. ok i have the same question as NOSERVICE2001. As you guys already know i have a 92ES300. N i do agree with noservice, i checked out the Sylvannia website and i entered all the data and it said that my dome light is a 194. Correct me if i'm wrong but 194's are wedge right? But when i popped off the cover, it is not a wedge. It look's like a regular bulb that you would normally see in your brake lights but just a smaller version. This is the blub right by the rear view mirror. I checked my lexus book for the bulb number and all it has is a "---" and it says the watts though. So they don't tell me the bulb number. My girlfriend want's to put an LED light in that "PERSONAL LIGHT". She also wants to change the "INTERIOR LIGHT" and the book says "----" to it too. I was thinking of getting it @ Superbrightleds.com. Should i just go for the normal "194 WEDGE TYPE LED" or should i go for "BA9s miniature bayonet base" for the PERSONAL LIGHT? N which one should i get the "Single LED BA9s Bulbs" or "4 LED BA9s Bulbs" or "Wide Viewing Angle BA9S Bulbs" in http://www.superbrightleds.com/BA9S6_specs.htm I'm assuming it's not the 194. Unless you guys think the 194's will fit. When i took off the "Interior Light" it's a bulb that is tubular. Is it the "Festoon Base Bulbs" in http://www.superbrightleds.com/1157.htm It's almost @ the bottom. If it is, wut bulb size? One last thing, i can't seem to get the door courtesy lights cover off. So i can't check which bulb they use. All i know is the manual says it's 3 watts. No number again. Do i just pull hard? I don't want to break the glass though. Sorry to b pain :chairshot: Thanks in advance for the help.
22. realli. I didn't know that. O wellz... my old rims are my backup rims now anywayz. Thanks for the info though.
23. I had a similiar problem to u with my LS400 rims. They were chrome rims... or was it chrome plated rims. Either way... same problem. Every week or two weeks i would have to fill air into it. Sometimes... depending on the weather i would need to pump air at least two times a week. It got pretty annoying. I lived with this for 2 to 3 years since i didn't have money to buy rims. It got really annoying when its cold and i really want to go somewhere and i need to bring out my tire pump and start pumping my tires every few days. Like you, the people couldn't find a leak. It was a slow leak actually. So i eventually got new rims... and let me tell you... what a relief. Sorry i have no advice on how to fix the rim. You can possilby try what mxl said to save money n hope it works. But to get real assurances... just get new rims. Sometimes you can find good deals on rims in a junk yard near your place. Good luck on the leak
24. yea... i'm pretty sure it's the radio antenna. Does it still move up and down in full motion? Turn your radio on and off to c if you can still hear the noise after the sound goes off. But since it is coming from the back... most likely it is the radio. If the motor is still moving but the antenna is kinda stuck, then you might want to spray some lube on it. N slightly push it down to c if it can go down completely. Don't force hard like my g/f did :chairshot: . Slightly push it down. N u might wnat to do this step a couple of time just so you can get the lube on it. Like shutting it down and having the antenna go down... then start the radio again to have the antenna go up... spray some lube n shut off radio... n blah blah blah. Hahahha <_< . Well if there is no noise... then i hope ur motor didn't burn or die out . From wut i heard... they can b pretty expensive. My motor died on me like 5 or 6 yrs ago. I didn't bother replacing it b/c i can still get reception. But of course the further out from the city i go, the less reception i get compared to when it was fully operational. But i would have to drive like 30-40 miles away from the city for that matter. Good luck B)
25. Is it a buzzing sound? 91LS400 had something wrong with his steering wheel making some buzzing sound. Here's a link: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=15101 Perhaps it's the same thing. I know u said it sounds like some belt or ratchet detensioning, i'm not sure how it sound's like. Well good luck. I hope this helps. Tom
