  1. Hey Steve welcome as well ! Great to have lots of new members to the LOC. Paul
  2. Hi to you Chasen and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Glad your here and look forward to your postings in the future. Paul
  3. Hi David. Welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. You've got quite a treasure there. We all know that a Lexus is a well built car, but your 95 LS400 is a wonderfull tribute to your tender loving care.. Put up some pics so we can all see it. Paul
  4. I suppose all of you already knew this, but would you buy a BMW 3 Series who's engine shut off EVERY time you stoped the car? Where the heck are we going in the name of mpg??? http://autos.aol.com/photos/2012-bmw-3-series-3/?icid=maing-grid10%7Chtmlws-main-bb%7Cdl10%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D133965
  5. It's not normal to have two sub's fail in that short of period o time. But you don't say exactly what went wrong with them so I'll assume they simply failed/"blew". In order to get more "robust" bass and fill out the bottom (this is a common complaint with the ML system) the addition of a seperate amp connected to a more responsive sub will give you a great sound. I have this setup in my trunk. Paul
  6. Hi Megan, I'm sorry that no one appears to have an answer to your question. I looked and 102 members have read your posting so we know it's been read. I would suggest that you talk to your dealer and have them ride with you so they can actually hear the "humming" noise you hear. The noise could be one of many things, and that is why it's so hard to come up with one particular fix. If you don't have a dealer, find a reputable independant mechanic. I strongly recomend not using something like a Jiffy Lube, or Firestone, or Midas, or any other quick fix "advertise Cheap" type of vendor. You have a Lexus, not a Ford. (Don't mean to be a snob) ....it's just a luxury car like Lexus is built to give superb performance and longgevity. It needs to be cared for. Good Luck. Come back and let us know what you find out. Paul
  7. Hi Kevin and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Sounds like you bought a pretty nice ride! Be sure to feel free to post any questions you might have. Again welcome. Paul
  8. You make some good points....One thing that some of the researcher's may not include is the effect of driving at night while it is snowing. Wether or not you use your fog lights, the biggest issue is the effect of snow blowing acrossf your headlights. It is hard to explain if you haven't experienced it, but the effect is almost hypnotic. Not only can you not see very far, but this constant motion of individual white particals passing in front of your eyes, lit up by the head lights and fog lights streaming in front of you second after second just mszmorizes you. Perhaps a twin filament headlight, with both HID and yellow beams would work? lol
  9. Exactly what nc211 said. After 8 hours behind the wheel, that $200. will seem like .02
  10. Nice overview and comparison of the 2012 GX460. Not a technical review, just features. http://www.autobytel.com/car-videos/?id=32645
  11. OK, maybe I'm being too harsh. I'll withhold my judgement until I see it. (That way I can always say I told you so) ! LOL
  12. Big "woo" was my thought. A little sparkle here a little color there, and a very special price I'll bet. A sad way to end a great models run.
  13. Has anyone else seen or heard of this special ES350 - 2012 special edition? http://lexusenthusiast.com/2011/10/02/2012-lexus-es-350-special-edition/
  14. Welcome to the club. The rear deck sub is 10" inches round. Paul
  15. Hi Vicky. Welcome to the LOC. I have had the navigation system do both...say you've reached you destination at about 200 ft. away, and it has said the same when I've been right in front of the persons house. For me, in traffic, I'd rather have a little advannced notice so I can make sure the guy behind me isn't going to rear end me when I slow to make that right turn the navigation lady told me about.
  16. Hi K and welcome to the Club. Here is a link to a company, United Audio that does repairs on Lexus audio equipment. This referral Comes from a Lexus dealer who has had very good luck with them. Or you can have your dealer simply replace your present cd player. Paul http://unitedradio.com/automotive
  17. I have seen several cars on which the owner/driver has retrofited the foglights to HID with a high Kelvin rating that are IMO almost too bright to look at. On this site over the last few years I recall more than just a couple of members wanting to convert their OEM fogs to something like HID or more "blue" just because they "looked cool".
  18. Hello Richard and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Where did you get the information that the navigation only works by voice command.....that is false. It also works by keyboard input.. The only time it will only work by voice command is when the car is in gear and the car is moving. It is true that the voice recognition software with the Lexus leaves a lot to be desired, but I suggest you read your navigation manual fully and get back to us.
  19. Hi James and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. I don't have the answer to your question, but others will chime in here and hopefully help you out. Paul
  20. U.K. Insurance study claims fog light use in fair weather causes accidents. People who have thier fog lights on all the time say they do it because it looks cool. Insurance group wants it banned in U.K. Does it cause accidents? http://www.autoblog....ccid/#continued
  21. Hello Tom and welcome to the Club. We look forward to your contributions and experience with the early LS models. Paul
  22. Hi Leandro. That is a great looking ES !! Thanks for posting the photos and letting us see what you have in Brazil. Paul
  23. Kid is adorable. .....Leaning left is good. Already put intervention in place for SW, but for a different problem.
