  1. And the conservatives still believe we're not a global economy. Yeah...wrong forum I know...still, it's pretty fr... obvious.
  2. My A6 is a US model, so its made in Germany. Audi have been making cars in China for the Asian market for a while. The India plant is pretty new. My post is just a ribbing, don't take it too seriously.....kind of like..where was your Lexus made? Next to a nuclear reactor that melted down... I don't mind though because it makes my car unique from all my neighbors. It's the only one that glows in the dark! I know,...don't quit your day job.
  3. Likely the near-infrared illuminators for night vision. Thats something new to me. Can you explain further. Paul
  4. Do you have a source on that? I'd like to see it. Be sure its the NEW A6...not the old A6. The global sales number on the new A6 is very hard to find since its only been on the market here for 4 months, but the new A6 is selling much better than the last gen so far. Here is a quote on autospies.com regarding the worldwide sales leader in the midsize luxury sedan sector: "With Audi's A6 already outselling both BMW's 5-series and Mercedes-Benz's E-class worldwide " http://www.autospies.com/news/2012-Audi-A6-vs-2011-BMW-535i-Edmunds-InsideLine-Showdown-65797/ Where is your A6 manufactured?,,,,,just an interesting tid-bit. "AUDI INDIA Audi sells the A4, A7, A8, Q5, Q7, TT, R8 and S/RS models in India. Audi competes in a niche market along with BMW and Daimler-Chrysler's Mercedes cars and sold 2,802 (3,003 cars in 2010) in the first half of 2011. Audi assembles the A4, A6 and Q5 models at ŠkodaAuto's plant located at Aurangabad, Maharashtra while the other models are imported from Ingolstadt, Germany. Audi cars are available through 15 dealers across India." Googled "audi A6 units exported Germany for 2011"
  5. What a beautiful car!!! I don't think you left out any option they make! What I really want to know is, when can I expect delivery of the car to my house?? (free of charge of course??)LOL
  6. Hi Kellie and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. I know you had just one question, but please feel free to hang around or come back as often as you like/need. Your membership is always good. Paul
  7. My problem with the Jag. and really all Jags, is reliability. I've always liked the looks and interior styling, but I can't afford the tech that sits in the back seat and the trunk full of parts. It's getting better each model year..but what really sealed it for me when looking around, was what my dealers service writer told me.....My Lexus dealer also carries Infinity, Mini, Volvo, Range Rover, and Cadillac. This particular service writer works the Jaguar, Volvo, and Infinity shop. I asked him about his recommendation for the Jaguar. He said, "In good conscience, I can't recommend you get one. They just have to many little problems that keep you coming back to the shop." That sealed it's fate for me.
  8. Welcome as well to the Lexus Owners Club. If it is not in warranty, Lexus does not have any way to repair the amp as it is a proprietary product to Levinson/Harmon, and Lexus has no repair manuals, schematics, or parts. Therefore the only way to fix a bad amplifier is to swap it out for a new one. Now, you say in your post that you might send the amp off for repair. Given what I just explained, have you found someone to repair the ML components that no one knows about? That would be great. Your Lexus dealer should be able to tell you if your problem is the amp for sure and not the pre-amp in the head unit or even the fuse for the system.(I know you already checked that). Please let David/Lexirx330 and I know if you have your warranty coverage still, and if you determine for sure that the problem is the amp. The late model ML systems have had a history of amplifier failure and it is well known by Lexus and their dealers. I would encourage you to push for a strong discount on the new amp if, in fact that is the problem. Given as many as they have had problems with, they should make you a handsome offer. That is MY opinion and not that of the LOC. Paul
  9. Everyone complains about high repair cost, especially for luxury cars like Lexus. Here is a basic review of what goes into figuring those repair prices. http://autos.aol.com/article/car-repair-cost/ Paul
  10. Hello Timo, and welcome to your Lexus Owners Club. We hope you enjoy it. I will try to answer some of your questions as best I can. First, about the Mark Levinson system; The ML system is very well suited for classical and classic rock. In my opinion it handles highs and mids well, and bass notes are adequate but won't rattle your teeth. For the type of music you like I can't imagine you would be dissappointed. About the white leather; In my car, the leather color is parchment... a light cream color. My previous Lexus was also a light color interior. In both of these cars, blue jeans dye did rub off on the corner of the drivers seat from where you enter the car and slide across the seat. BUT, It does come off easily. The detail shop where I take my car uses a basic leather cleaner and rubs it clean. The amount of transfer from the jeans is pretty light and it takes a few months for it to build up enough to notice much. I would not worry about the white leather. As for your other questions, I'm not up on those topics. Others will chime in here and help out. Paul
  11. n'tThe new GS will not be release until next month. My point exactly.. I've enjoyed following the discussion since December 9, when the topic began. But, as the discussion/mastications went on, everyone complained or praised the GS350 based on only the numbers published on a sheet of paper. Over a month of back and forth everyone has argued the merits of 0-60 time, curb weight, handling, etc. But no one has even driven a GS350. For total accuracy wouldn't it be more factual to compare the specs. to an actual test drive before you pronounce it D.O.A?
  12. I wanted to ask who has driven the new GS350? It's not clear from the threads that have been posted so far.

Hi Hal. Welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. I don't know much about this subject, but I assume your mechanic checked the fuse for the blower motor. Others will come along during the day and next who can offer more help. Paul
  14. Three luxury cars, in three categories, were chosen by Autobytel staff as "Luxury Car of the Year". No Lexus model was included! Click on the link and check out what I thought was a big surprise from Korea. Post your response: Do you agree with the choices? What would you have chosen? http://www.autobytel.com/auto-news/awards/autobytel-2012-luxury-car-of-the-year-108843/
  15. I guess you told me!! Thank you Billy for the information.
  16. I've read all of your post Jerry and a couple of things come to mind. The people who know parts and part numbers for exterior/body parts like your looking for are Lexus dealers Collision Centers, (body shops). My local dealer does a tremendous amount of Lexus collision repair and that would include rear-end collisons. (taillight assemblies maybe?)If they can't give you a definitive answer on wether or not the part is available and in what components than I don't know who would. Our members have had good luck with Sewell and I hope they can come through for you. Paul
  17. Hello Mikel and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club! No, It is not commom on the ES330 for the radio head unit to fail. In fact, when I had my 2005 ES330 it was a great system. The problem with Lexus is that their dealers do not have any facilities or electronics techs to repair the problems, and frankly, most of the later models after the Pioneer and Nakamichi units were discontinued, the new units where not repaired but just replaced. Such is the situation with yours. Here is a link I found on Google that says they do repair Lexus radios of your type. I know NOTHING about this vendor/company. Therefore you proceed at your own risk. I suggest you CALL them Or E MAIL them first. Hope this helps. Paul http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalLexusES300AmpR.htm
  18. Well, basically, loudness = power, and clarity = power and crossovers + equalizer + speakers in my opinion. For what you want to accomplish, I would urge you to find a reputable auto audio shop and check out their speakers so you can listen to them instead of buying them online. I would also have them advise you on whether you need an amp, and if so what size will work with your head unit. If their a good shop they should give you straight advice. You already have a sub and amp in the trunk so you should be getting all the low end you need. Let us know how it goes! Paul
  19. Hi Jerry and Welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. It sounds like you haven't had much luck on ebay, and even though you can find good buys there, a more reliable source, and at and at a good price, is avaiable to LOC members. Sewell Lexus in Dallas TX, offers a hefty discount to LOC members for parts and accessories. Go online to "Sewellparts.com" and register as an LOC member. From there, just follow their system and see what you think. Looks like you've got a pretty good stable of LS's started. Keep loging on and posting. Paul
  20. Hi Garrett, Just interested, what is your plan for using the information you are collecting. Is this for business research or thesis project? Since the results are public, who will see the results? Thanks, Paul
  21. Are you a man of few words? Surely you have an opinion on some of the items. Sure I do, but none of the items mentioned were new or original which is why I commented as I did. I'll throw in my 2 cents on gas price discussion in article. Higher gas prices in US are no big deal for me and I understand the point made in article. I was pulling your leg ST. LOL.. But for a more interesting item on gasoline, read the item I just posted on the USA now exporting more gasoline/fuel than any other product made in America.
  22. Maybe I've been living in a cave, but this came as a surprise to me when I read this. If we have so much gasoline that we can afford to export more of it than any other US product, then what happened to the "supply and demand" rule for why we pay so darn much at the pump! Read on. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/31/united-states-gas-export_n_1177559.html?icid=maing-grid10%7Chtmlws-main-bb%7Cdl3%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D124147
  23. Congratulations Krishh!! Enjoy the new year with your new great choice. Paul
  24. Are you a man of few words? Surely you have an opinion on some of the items.
  25. I think I may have hit upon the final answer(no, there's no million bucks). This thread tells about the "Gracenote" data coding system Lexus uses to read the CD data, and how to make your CD's show all the information. Check these threads out: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=53474
