  1. Book calls for 8 hours. I'd be surprised if a newbie were able to do it in 8 hours. I can replace Honda timing belts in under 1 1/2 hours and still can't replace starters in these cars in under that time.
  2. From the factory, Toyota and Lexus use FIPG silicone sealant for their tranny/oil pan gaskets.
  3. Don't remove the radiator, there's plenty of room to remove the fan assembly.
  4. Removing the intake manifold isn't something you can do in an hour.
  5. Check
  6. Hooters
  7. Its really not a big deal. It's not expected that a typical DIY'er has access to all the correct tools and perform the proper diagnostic methods. Acceptable at home but definitely, unaccecptable at a shop. At least everything worked out for you though.
  8. LOL College
  9. "Shotgunning" is when you assume everything else is okay and replace a part right off the bat, without testing all other components. A lot of incompetent mechanics do it. That's why some customer's bring their cars back multiple times, only to have more parts thrown at it. If you had an auto technician working on your car....it'd be different.
  10. I wouldn't trust depending on silicone to stop a leak in a pressurized system. I suggest adding a clamp to that hose.
  11. I was just about to add 'Shalanzo' to my vocabulary :P Constitution
  12. Get a 3.64 rear end, if you're not concerned about highway RPM/speed.
  13. I must agree with you anthonyiez, taking the shotgun approach isn't the best approach. But I think bloodlust has already figured out what was wrong with the car. Who knows, maybe a DSO was used.
  14. There should be a clamp of some sort on all rubber coolant hoses. If it's a metal tube going into another piece of metal/plastic, then there should be a gasket/o-ring on that tube.
  15. Shalanzo :P Sounds like Italian, but it also sounds like someone made it up. Bologna
  16. OEM wiring? As in cut and hardwire?
  17. I think Toysrme was just trying to finish your sentence.
  18. Hose down the power antenna seal and see if the trunk gets wet or not. You probably also want to confirm that the drainage holes for the sunroof aren't clogged.
  19. You should practice safe s*x. There's a lot of herpes to be had out there.
  20. Maximum offset front/rear for your car should be no more than +45. Anything over 45mm will poke out from the sides and look funny. Howcome you're not going with a 18x8 wheel?
  21. I've seen it on other cars and it seems like chrome overkill, kind of like what rapper's would put on their cars.
  22. I'd do it when time/money permits. It's not your daily driver anyways, but definitely do it by 90k.
  23. Some of the sexiest women wear red lipstick. So would it be safe to assume that they have high levels of testosterone, in them?
