  1. That is my wife in Cuba. She will be driving the lexus next month...onward...so I want it in tip top shape. So far replaced, spark plugs, pcv, rotors, pads, fluids all around, cabin filtre...
  2. In my case it was the leather rubbing against the baby car seat.
  3. An update/problem solved. It turned out it was the clips on the calipers. THe heat pads on those clips were totally worn and were rubbing against the calipers.
  4. The sponge/gasket that seals the fan to the radiator has worn down and ripped and was sucked into the fan leaving only its remnants. Is this part even necessary or even replaceable. I was not able to find it on park place lexus.
  5. kind of a common problem...just need to clean the throttle body.
  6. While parked, I tried pushing the front wheel back and forth from the top and I hear the CREAK sound coming from the middle of the wheel..right behind the plastic cap. Could this be the bearings?... Usually, I thought bearings would give me a HUM noise on highway.
  7. When I am pulling into my driveway with the windows down, I hear a creaking noise...creak, creak, creak. The creaking is in rhythm with the car speed (tires turning). When I apply the brakes the creaking gets louder again in rhythm and sometimes just disappear when brakes are pressed hard. At highway speed I sometimes get a wild shudder when I accelerate but then goes away. What I have done so far... 1. Tightened wheel nuts....no effect. 2. Re-seat calipers and disc....no effect. (both pads and discs are still original factory part) Anyone not clueless as I ? :cries: :cries: :cries:
  8. Lexus/Toyota does not recomend using acetone. At your own risk................ I wouldn't................... Acetone will desolve most rubber/plastic....if yyou do use it you must dilute it sufficiently...but I wouuld not risk it.
  9. We get 25.00 mpg with combined city/highway daily driving. It currently has 100,000 miles
  10. When accelerating, my engine growls at 2000 rpm...like a muscle car but than from 2100 onwards, it is dead quiet with smooth acceleration. Why does my es300 strain at 2000rpm?
  11. anyone know where lexol can be found in T.O.?
  12. I was doing my usual spring oil change when I found that there is a tiny leak///1 drop per week of oil coming from the gasket (red) behind the transmission oil change pan. Is that the differential? Torque converter? Is this an easy fix to redo the gasket? :cries:
  13. I have another problem when I use the cig lighter for pumping air...when I pull the the airpump connector out of the cig lighter socket...the whole dam socket pops out....I hate that cig lighter socket! I now connect my air pump directly to the battery.
  14. [ Lower front mount is next for you. It is not that difficult. ← I checked both front ones and they "looked" fine...nothing leaking or torn.
  15. This thread has been very helpful for me. The shaking of my steering wheel stopped soon after filling the dogbone with my polyurethane. I still notice my engine going down towards the back of the engine so I suspect that the lower mounts are going as well. Has anyone filled these lower mounts with polyurethane as well?
  16. Any canadian sites? do they deliver to Canada without problems?
  17. I concur. Had the exact same problem...just replace the steering rack/pinion assembly.
  18. I remember reading somewhere that when Lexus first came out that only 60% of the car was identical to a camry. I imagine that gap has narrowed recently...
  19. I tried to do that here in Toronto but all the shops (total of 3 (speedy, midas, cantires) I went to refused to do that...saying it will rust off too fast.
  20. That is the price alright. I paid CAD$430 for mine...but if I had the money I would go with the original since it is quieter.
  21. I have original struts on my es300 and when it gets cold like -20, the ride is really harsh.
  22. Hi SK, I did this and found my noise to have gone away 90 percent. BTW, why did you jack up the car? For access or strut lossening? Did you loosen the upper strut nuts as well to get more liquid into that area?
