  1. I had a 96 Impala SS that I always pampered & parked in my driveway. Had it for 3 years exposed to summer heat and winter freeze. The NOAH from California Car Cover is what I kept over the car. It is soft, protective, and allows the paint to breath. I never got a cover for my LS because I don't park it for extended periods like I did my SS. I would surely check out another NOAH or other top of the line cover from CCC if I were going to though.John

  3. Since I have the 04 I can state that while they fixed the wind noise they created another trbl with the revised window gasket. I have gone to the dealer twice for the driver's side window gasket rubbing hard against the window and causing chaffing of the gasket and getting that scummy debris transferred to my glass. Putting the lemon law aside, I have put up with the non-fix for years since it was too much a hassle to keep going back and forth to the dealer(a tough 40 minute drive one way). And don't get me started on the exterior chrome trim that hasn't held up to the elements. While I enjoy the car, it isn't perfect and I didn't expect it to be but this wind noise issue and reports of the xmission "clunk" plus my existing history with the 04, is giving me the overwhelming feeling of saying bye bye Lexus. Time will tell for me. John
  4. I am thinking more and more away from this 460 myself. It was my intention to wait out the first year run of this new model for the sole reason to see what problems arose. This sporatic trbl can very well be a show stopper for me. The S550 is moving ever so close to the first position on my personal next buy list. John
  5. Me too! About $10K too much in my opinion. I was holding off deciding on the 460L, 600HL, or S550. The 460L is now making more sense dollar wise. If "I" was going to shell out $100K for a car, the S550 would have to get the nod over the 600HL based on the fact the S550 does not share it's design with a lesser priced model. Only the true Lexus knowledgeable and auto-savy person would recognize the price & difference between the 460L and the 600HL. Had the 600HL come in @$90K or a bit more, I would have given it the nod. I still have my sights on the 460L but the S550 just took second place in my ranking unless someone can make a convincing argument to dissuade me. John
  6. OK, Glad they resolved this matter. I know both men very well. Paul is a big reason why I keep going back there for my new cars. Looks like the LS460L will remain on my list. John
  7. If you live in Marlton, I assume you are referring to Lexus of Cherry Hill dealership. I have been doing business with them since 96 and found them most accomodating. I had plans to get a 460L this fall but am rethinking this now. I would be very interested in your outcome with both the dealership and personnel you deal with.
  8. As I look at the 460 and 460L specs, it's clear there's only going to be a 5 inch difference in length. Since the "L" model should be asking more bucks, I ask myself is it really a noticeable difference & worth the extra expense? As far as equip pkg goes, the only worthwhile option the "L" model lists as standard is the NAV system. All the other options are the unrealistic rear seat stuff. John
  9. Thats why its an option ;) I'm aware of that. But it's not really an ANSWER to MY question - is it?! ;) A few months ago. Every time I visit my parents, my dad insists on driving his car to the restaurant. With my mother also in the front seat, that puts me in the back. It feels weird but I can deal with it. Even if I had MEGA Millions, I would never allow a paid hand to drive me around. John
  10. They finally got around to designing a rear bumper that properly houses the exhaust pipes. Looks GREAT. Living in the snow belt, I can see a definite struggle keeping the lower door chrome lustrous. Hopefully they'll offer that clear guard application for the chrome. I am a bit hesitant to go after the first years production run though. They seem to change the package offerings in the second year(at least they did on the recent 430 vehicles). I think I may wait for fall 2007 for mine. John
  11. Here's some pics saved to the gallery. Best viewed if you go to the gallery since clicking on the below link will only show a thumb pic. John
  12. My car is gold metallic. I have a few chips on my front bumper. I bought the little touch up bottle and put it on in layers. Close up you can see the difference in color but at a standing distance, you have to really stare at it to be able to discern the difference. While it may not be an exact match, it's certainly better than not doing it and looking at the black base underneath the paint. John
  13. I have used all of the above mentioned suggestions before plus many more. I have now found the best way(thanks to recent technology) to remove all that pesky dust from your interior. This will also make your interior look clean without the look of being treated with a cleaning solution. Buy yourself a package of those house dust magnet sheets. They come in packs of 5 to 20 sheets. Just take 1 sheet out of the package and run it all over your interior. All the dust particules will stick to the cloth and not get redistributed elsewhere. I do my entire interior with these sheets. Simply beautiful results. Dashboard, wood trim, console, seats, vents..... Everything comes out GREAT. :D John
  14. So I guess that when they playback the interview, our lips move but the words coming out are not insync. Hmmm....OK, I'm game. John
  15. My first thought was that it's front nose looked like my neighbors ugly Dadge stratus. Then there is that cheap looking front ground effect plastic. I don't care how good the car is made, that thing would not make it to my driveway. John
  16. Hopefully R&T is totally wrong. If it comes out anywhere close to that rendetion, I'll take my $ elsewhere. John
  17. I agree with everyones comments but I would have to give the shop that did the roof, points for a tight finished cut. Now who is going to come up with the LS convertible? John
  18. Spyshots of the 07 LS. http://www.thecarconnection.com/Enthusiast...S178.A8787.html
  19. In my opinion, you made the same mistake or perhaps an intentional decision to overlook the fact that the after market wheels caused your tire fitment to extend outside the front wheelwell. When I got my wheels, the tire shop tried to pull the same thing on me. I insisted that the shop mod the wheel to properly fit inside the wheelwell. A price I certainly had to incur but a proper & custom look just the same. John
  20. I'll try it again.. If it doesn't work, I'm sure someone else can get it right.
  21. Sorry, that didn't come out as big as I thought it would.
  22. Here's a slightly more refined pic of the LS: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/albums/LS/ls500.thumb.jpg John
  23. http://images.snapfish.com/343%3C274323232...3B3849%3Bot1lsi The LS600h sketch as shown in the *SCOOP* section of the July 2005 CARTOP mag in Japan. A copy from one of the sketches drawn from a chief designer from the Lexus LS project. Therefore, there would be some exterior features from the Carmode sketch were missing from the actual prototype vehicle itself. But nevertheless, these sketches are good enough to show how the exterior of the LS sedan should look like. According to Kelvin Yamamura, currently working as the deputy research director at Toyota Motors in Japan. LS600h sedan would produce close to 460 horsepower. A new 7-speed transmission, I don’t see there’s a reason why this sedan would not out run the Mercedes S 600 or BMW 760 LI on the road. Some most likely features: 1: Intelligent Active Suspension System (IASS) This technology was developed under the existing active suspension system currently employed by the Celsoir sedan. The system works through a central computer which would constantly monitor each suspension in the car. Whenever sedan turns into sharp corners, the central computer would issue commands to adjust each suspension appropriately to enhance the sedan’s cornering ability. 2. New, lightweight sound deadening system In order to maintain the weight of the new LS sedan to weight less than two tons, the engineers have successfully invent a new lightweight sound deadening system for both Century and the LS sedan. Unlike Honda’s noise canceling system, the sound deadening system was designed to not only absorb noises on the road, it would also try to contain these noises from intruding into the cabin. 3. Intelligent Night-vision System with “Active Safe” Unlike most night-vision systems you have seen in some American brand sedans or in the Legend sedan, this system works by not only identify any moving object (ie. animals or children) that emitted heat energy. When the object was detected by the computer and is likely to cause the impact. The computer would initiate a signal, warning to the driver to the upcoming object and would immediately apply brake pressure that would try to avoid a direct impact to the object. 4. Advanced Lane Departure Warning System Unlike the current lane departure warning system that has employed in some sedans, the advanced version of the system includes a more sensitive radar that is more sensitive and accurate in picking up the lane markers during any weather condition. It also has an automatic control that can either set on and off by the driver where if your car is beginning to steer off lane, the computer would send a warning signal to the driver and would automatically steer you back gently into the correct direction. -In addition, although you might not be able to see the real pictures of the Lexus LS prototype, it would definitely be shown in the upcoming Tokyo auto show.
