Purchase a 2007 LS460, rough idle, have not had timing belt changed yet. 99000 miles. I been told by several mechanics that the timing belts on lexus last forever. Wondering if the rough idle is related to not having the timing belt changed, or is it possibly a different problem. Not error messages at this time.

I thought the LS460 has a timing chain which never is scheduled to be replaced. Whether a car has a timing belt or chain, neither is the cause of a rough idle.

On those Lexus cars that actually have a timing belt, up to 2006 at least, the replacement interval was 90,000 miles or 6 years. And, yes timing on Lexus cars do "fail" but it's usually not the belt itself that breaks but one of the other normally replaced components in the system that fails.

Correct, the LS460 has a timing chain, not a timing belt, it doesn't need to be changed.

My guess is its a bad motor or transmission mount somewhere...

More common cause for rough idiling is carbon deposits in throttle body and partially clogged fuel injectors. Dirty Mass Airflow Sensor can also cause the same problem. I am having all those parts cleaned in the next few days. I shall report back as to the outcome.
