SW03ES Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 Here are some real life pics of the 2004 Sport Design Not bad, I'm really not into the wheels. Oddly enough they remind me of old Taurus SHO wheels. Interior is not bad, the dark wood is interesting but it seems to "starken" it up a little. The darker treatment around the console is interesting. Not too into that color either, coupled with the wheels it makes the car look dirty... Whats everyone else think?
Wubbman Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 I think its ok. I like the wheels. I agree that the color makes the car look dirty. In looking at them, I was wondering "when are they going to show it clean."
Lex3486 Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I love spoke wheels myself. These actually bring to mind late model Acura CL's; almost identical wheels. The dark color around the console would look better if that same color were found somewhere else inside, but it's not; looks like someone messed up the tan one and found a black one at a junkyard and just said "who'll notice anyhow?" I do like the color though, wood included. Gray wood is just not natural...I love it B)
Lex3486 Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Oh my bad; just noticed that color is on the top of the dash and doors still looks cheesy in my opinion though. I like the olden days of the ES with the same colored dash, doors and console, with different colored carpet, seats and door inserts. I just love the older ES's in general, but that's probably b/c I can't afford the newer ones
SW03ES Posted February 17, 2004 Author Posted February 17, 2004 Yeah thats actually a grey interior and thats just the top dash trim. I'm not sure what to think of that console surround either lol...
blake918 Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I'm not sure what to think of that console surround either lol... I agree! It looks too busy with all of those different colors like the white sandwhiched between the black/grey trim.
SW03ES Posted February 17, 2004 Author Posted February 17, 2004 I'll have to see the interior in black.
steviej Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I think the black bird's eye maple (whatever it is called) would look good against a total light charcol interior like in my ES. But so does the reddish color that I have now. The wheels, they blew it here. I don't like wheels that incorporate shades of the car in them. The wheels would look pretty decent if they were totally brushed aluminun, or satin silver, or even chrome. I'm not a fan of two or three tone wheels. I also don't like the fact they are mixing two types of emblems. Chrome and black pearl. go all one or the other. personally, I don't think I missed anything, but that is just my tastes. steviej
SW03ES Posted February 17, 2004 Author Posted February 17, 2004 I agree... Hey Steve, did you ever get those black pearl emblems on your car?
steviej Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 I got them, but haven't done anything with them. 1. it's too darn cold outside 2. the garage ain't heated 3. it's too darn cold outside This will be a spring time project before the first Lex meet of course. steviej
99lsguy Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 Just a touch "too sterile" for me ( on the dash). I like the Shift Pattern design though :D
steviej Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 I like the Shift Pattern design though :D that is common to all 02+ ES's and not just the Sport Design. I like it too...no big thumb button to forget to not press. steviej
