gobux
About a year-an-a-half ago I read in a car magazine that Lexus was going to put their 3.3L 6-cylinder in the SC430. Has anybody else heard about this? Just curious.
jzz30
yea i read that too in road and track or car and driver or something like that
Sadistic
See, I thought I read some where they were going to put a 4.8 in the SC. This was quite a while ago. Probably a year and a half or so. I could be dead wrong on the engine size due to skimming over it. Just what I remember.
Bandit
They have not been able to keep the SC430 in the Showrooms, so I guess until the SC430 sales fall off, they will not offera SC330.
southernsc300
lexus is always making their engines bigger, i see no reason why they would offer a lower end package for the SC. it seems as if they are trying to move away from 6cyls. all togather with the possibility of a IS430 by millen. jzz30
the 330 could just be a japan option beause you get hit by big taxes as the displacement goes up

It was TRDs counterpart in Europe that made the first IS430. I really don't understand why Lexus wouldn't want the SC330 to be sold over here. The money is here. jzz30
where gas is cheap the person buying the car wont mind spending a bit more for some more power right? same with gas it will cost a bit more but they probably wont care since they already bought a $60k car. so is there a market for an SC with a smaller less powerful and probably not as smoothe engine? bean_8044
Dare i bring up the 1jz TT option? I mean, its a 2.5l so it gets good gas mileage till you get on the boost. Plus the 1j was faster than the 4.0 V8. Course they wont put an old !Removed! engine like that in there, but its still a good comparison on the older model. AWJ
I would take a toyota inline 6 over any other option in motor.
jzz30
330 meaning v6 right? but of course it the thing came with a 1j or a 2j its sold for me then i could change my ID to jzz40
UCF3
Same here. If they offer the inline-6, 1jz or 2jz, it would be nice. They may offer the 1jzFE, or 2JZFE motors. They're not bad, but no Turbo option. I think Lexus is going to offer a 4WD or AWD next.
